Sad that this was so short compared to the other champion road scenarios (I'm a total Stan for Suda so I wouldn't have been upset if it ended up being 60 hours)
I'm going to need those Shinske Nakamura, and Brock Leaner parodies as playable characters

There's also a collection with most of the CRB edits pulled directly from the game: steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2010768261At any rate, for the sake of basically no one, here's who I think I've figured out so far as inspirations for the NPC cast: Kotaro Kurone: Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega, mainly Ittetsu Kozaki: Kotetsu Yamamoto, NJPW gym head. Or more accurately his representation in Firepro, Ittetsu Wakamoto Jack Stacey: a Gracie. Which one? I don't know. July Eagle and Victor Bosch: shrug! Cherry Blossom Ikki: Kazushi Sakuraba Grateful Saeba: Akira Maeda The MMA dorks you fight in Texas, England, Lithuania, and Brazil: no idea, but Thomas Lancashire has a ZSJ-esque moveset (and was built on him as a base), at least. David Hayes: Jimmy Garvin? Ted Morgan: Terry Gordy. Both Hayes and Morgan have a different nickname in the game files, "Badstreet Miami," so. Billy the South: probably a mix of the Funks. Masaomi Kinugawa: ass-pull here, but Hiromasa Ogikubo, a bantamweight MMA fighter from Shooto Frog Buster: Brock Lesnar Ewan Jacobs: Conor McGregor Strange Nature: Shinsuke Nakamura |

I thought David Hays was for sure supposed to be Michael P.S. Hayes. And I could be totally wrong, but I was thinking Victor Bosch might be Tom Howard from his Zero1 days.

Started playing through this a couple days ago. The mode is fun, but I didn't like the part where you're just picking fights in different places with randos. A little unimaginative.
Also, they really need to fix the glitch with the character images on PS4. Haven't been able to see a single pic or background yet, just a static image of an empty ring.

Suda REALLY likes the name Sumio
If Sumio from champion Road is somehow connected to Sumio Mondo from the Kill The Past series this will officially be the best Fire Pro game ever

I loved the Champion Road Beyond story mode. It was very fun to play. This game is by far the best one I ever got. I hope they do another one down the road and the Champion Road Beyond for the next game starts where this one left off.

They really should let you unlock all the original wrestlers as playable characters after finishing the mode. Agreed! Still, The Vanishing are a great pair of wrestlers that I'll be making good use out of. |

Yeah and the game we got absolutely fucking bombed on PS4 (if what we were told about how Returns sold in the US is to be believed, it outsold World worldwide on PS4) and they're pulling support from it this year. They're giving us parts/move editors so that the game will live on. That's not something you do if you're planning to continue the series. |
