That's the Birth of a Legend DLC? Wow, just old school playthrough story mode. Not bad. Pretty big variety now, 2 NJPW stories, Promoter, and this Story Mode.

Man, when I heard about "Birth of a Legend" due to that PSN store leak, a part of me went, "...what if this is a sequel or remake of the Firepro Special story mode?"
Turns out it's that, *AND* with the original director and author working on it!? Hell yeah!

Ok, hyped as fuck for this, now.
All I wanted out of the DLC's was Fire Promoter, but this honestly has me wanting this DLC really bad now.

So what we know (To help Maikeru make his sticky):
- Tentatively titled "Champion Road II", or at least the story mode is. Some press releases are calling the whole DLC 'the Vanishing'.
- Picks up 25 years after his last infamous story mode
- You play as a the kid of the previous protagonist
- You'll travel the world getting in fights and increase your moveset and style as you go along
- Should feature a tag team called the vanishing
- Suda51 wants to use more pixel art to get the story across better
- Hopes to have it out this year
- They want to get Fire Pro Special on Steam.

Sounds like it’s not happening any time soon. Spike should use the time to clean up the menus and all of the “quality of life” things people have been brining up since EA. Other wise the non-hardcore fans that may get interested from Suda 51’s involvement probably won’t stick around

It's a shame there doesn't appear to be a proper translation for Special, even just as a text file. Would love to play through the original game. Most info on this game is just "LOL 16-Bit Suicide or LOL Ric Flair: Video Game Murderer". There's a nice runthrough of the various paths on gamefaqs by Fire_Pro_Fan along with some dry recaps of the cutscenes but a full translation would be really cool.
