Does anyone have any info or details on which referees are best for which promotion / wrestling styles? i.e. this referee is best to use for strong, this referee is best to use for stoic, this referee is best to use for king's road and do they have an influence on the overall match rating? Thanks in advance.

I would imagine the biggest factors would be count and move speed. If the ref is slow at those it will lead to more kick outs which strong and kings road would probably benefit the most. More kick outs(especially 2.9s) will lead to higher ratings.

There's probably more of a challenge just using a fast ref over a slow ref.
A slow-speed/slower-than-Medium-count requires pins to be basically dead center of the ring (or a submission) and will give you a million near-falls because he'll just simply never get to the pin in time. This obviously allows the match to get more shit in and get higher potentials.

Also I notice certain referees increase the expenses for the event which would seem to indicate there's some sort of advantage for using those specific refs

The refs definitely vary by booking fee. I noticed this when I first started playing Fire Promoter. The guy I was originally using cost me 20k per show.
