Amazon.ca didn't put Resident Evil 4 Remake up for sale until the day before it launched. They sold out immediately so it looks like I'll have to wait a while to get my copy. However Dredge comes out on the 30th and I may play that. A Lovecraftian Fishing game.

Wow, Dredge looks interesting. I can't say I'm so interested in the fishing aspect itself but the exploration, story, aqua madness, and character interaction seems fun. Maybe the fishing part has a good feel to it. Kind of reminds me of GTA V's salvage missions which I actually did enjoy.

I’ve had my eye on dredge for a while now, it looks like it would be a fun one to escape into. No idea why, but I’ve always loved fishing in games (animss ask crossing, Yakuza, Sega marine fishing, Stardew valley, etc), and then you toss some creepy ol lovecraft inspired lore in there, sounds like a winner to me! Watching the video about upgrading and generally micromanaging made it slightly less appealing. I might wait for a really good sale in a year or two. There is a Switch demo I think I’ll try while I’m off next week, as well!
Boltgun looks VERY interesting. I stoped paying attention to Warhammer based games a long time ago, they often seem to look the same to me, and I can never keep straight which one is which because there are so many, but thank you, Nth, this Doom/Wolfenstein homage looks pretty amazing! It better not drop at $80 though… 😕

UPW Wrestling on its last hour on kickstarter. All stretch goals met except the last one which includes an online ladder ranking system and custom wrestler music support. All other goals have been met.

The micromanaging/upgrade trees makes it seem Dredge will lean too heavily in the fishing sim direction. I've enjoyed fishing in Red Dead and Animal Crossing cause they each have arcadey aspects to it but I think this may be too much fishing, not enough existential horror. To their credit, not enough games have any ratio between those two extremes 😁 |

Final stretch goal would have included Career Mode, Texture Edit System, Custom Music Editor and Online Ranking system. Now the devs say just because these features won't be in the initial build, doesn't necessarily mean we won't see them down the road if the game sells well. What stretch goals we did get: Stretch Goal 1: Core Gameplay Mechanics Core AI Mechanics 400 Basic Animations Stretch Goal 2: Full Gameplay Mechanics Basic Create A Wrestle Mode Advanced AI Mechanics 600 Advanced Animations Stretch Goal 3: Create a Promotion Mode Advanced Create a Wrestler System Weapon System 300 Taunt Animations Wrestler Entrances Stretch Goal 4: Online Mode - Ranked PVP online matches including (one) online UPW title for all players to compete for. Title holder must defend title once a week or forfeit it. Title matches will be streamed live by the devs on a show called Monday Night Blast. Create a PPV Referee Mechanics Special Match Types Backstage Areas Also included: A default roster of 100 fictional wrestlers all with portrait art by Hal Haney expected at launch with possibilities of future additions. Female wrestlers will also be included. 5 Promotion Paths for career mode: The Big Leagues - Shorter matches and penalties imposed on wrestlers for rule breaking. Japan - Grow respect among wrestlers and popularity with crowds, unlock new moves.
Mexico - Lucha Libra Style matches in a 6 sided ring. Independents - Smaller Promotions, smaller rings, reactionary crowds. Mixed Martial Arts - MMA match types in an MMA cage. More promotions and special events expected to be added throughout development. Other notes: Game has already been in development 7 years. A continuation and expansion of the core AKI grappling engine which has been in development for 2 years. Expanded by the dev team believing how AKI would have continued updating the mechanics had they continued to the series. Art Style of the game inspired by Fire Pro in the sense that created wrestlers will visually match in perfectly with default rosters. Legacy/Career mode: Recent Interview with devs

Are you more of a 0.5 or 0.33 kind of person? And you’re right, more developers should put a fishing:existential horror ratio on their development checklist! |

The pre-order price is also discounted if you're a PS+ Member. Damn Square-Enix making me double dip on games. Still have the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters at the end of the month and I am likely going to get them on both Switch and PS4/PS5.

Very weird timing - I woke up today and started thinking that I want to play FF V.
I like the quality of life upgrades and the ability to switch soundtracks!
I' still occasionally revisit and linger in the FF VI world after beating it again last year. Those brachiosaurs started getting a little too confident they were in the clear again 🦕⚔
