So......with the newest XBox and PlayStation consoles set to release this in less than 2 months, how are you guys feeling about them pre-launch?
I'm certainly interested to see what the next generation of consoles brings in terms of gameplay innovation and storytelling but I'll probably wait a bit to move on from my PS4. I will say that unlike past generations, the new XBox has me interested enough to keep up with what's going on. I've always bought into PlayStation because they have the overwhelming bulk of exclusives that I'm interested in but IF something like Elder Scrolls 6 or a Fallout: New Vegas 2 ends up on XBox only, I'd definitely consider getting one (I can't see Microsoft just throwing away money like that but who knows).

This has probably been the least interested in new consoles I have ever been. Last time out I didn't want the new gen because I didn't think I would have money for it for a long time but I ended up with a ps4 only a few months after they released. So this time I just have no interest especially with the lack of games so far. I also have a decent gaming pc I was luckily gifted recently and would rather stick to playing on pc at this point.

I suppose I might want to play the Demon's Souls remake but that's about it. If there is some sort of fancy "AAA" stuff I find to not be terrible there's always Steam. And I'd probably save more money getting another external. Or even a SD card for my Switch.

I always pay attention during a new console launch but I gotta say I'm not that interested now.
This coming generation is a little confusing to me, too expensive for me, and my available gaming time seems to be diminishing every year. The PS4 is the first console I bought where I don't think I even got full value out of. I just haven't been able to play Red Dead 2 as much as I wanted. I only have a handful of other games.
Yeah, FPW is the real killer here since the majority of my game time since 2007 has gone to it. But still, I used to be better at juggling Fire Pro and other games cause I had more time for those other games and I just don't now.
Also, I really just bought the PS4 for Red Dead 2. For me to buy the PS5 it would take not just another "Orochi Geese Tier 1" game to come out, but the guarantee that I'd be able to sink the time into playing it. Short of a sequel to Final Fantasy VI, I just can't imagine buying a $500 console for just one game now.
I kind of want a Switch more than anything I don't currently have because I miss Nintendo games. But with what I already have, especially on Steam, it's going to be a few years til I even consider a new system. And Nintendo systems rarely get less expensive over time if you're buying them new which I prefer. (who wants to risk a used console full of goose droppings? Not me!) I'd totally bite on a $150 Switch right now but I don't see that price drop happening and Switches are still really hard to find if you want the console version.
That online-only Xbox isn't a big enough draw to me cause my internet is sketchy at times and I like owning physical discs. Plus, I always prefer the Playstation library over the Xbox library of games each generation.

There's been rumors abound for the last week or so on twitter about some Metal Gear news stirring.

PS5 to offer a Boost Mode for PS4 games similar to how PS4 Pro offers a boost mode to earlier PS4 titles.
Space Crew up for pre-order on Xbox and PS4, still waiting for Steam pre-orders though. Just under two weeks to go.

That looks pretty interesting although that dude's head spinning on the ground like a top distracted me a bit lol

And that Cossack is getting honkey-tonked a bit too much for my liking. I can see the spinning head being distracting, my neighbour rage quit during a game of diablo once because I found it more interesting to watch a vanquished skeleton’s rib cage roll down a stone ramp than the idea of moving forward. It wouldn’t STOP ROLLING though! 🙂

Pacer finally out. From the original dev team from Wipe Out, another game to help fill the anti-grav racer void F-Zero has left.
A bunch of big games have also received some major patch updates, presumably to add content and features when played on PS5. Days Gone just added a massive 25gig patch, No Man's Sky also getting a major update for the next gen consoles confirmed.
Also, big news coming about the Sony / Rockstar partnership deal coming. Rockstar is supposed to make an announcement about the GTAV Remaster and GTA Online games, but also make an announcement likely related to GTAVI. It was rumored about six months ago Sony had paid 750million for exclusivity rights to GTAVI or possibly an entirely new Rockstar IP.
