Samurai Shodown figures coming. If they do a Genjuro, I'm sold.

Wow, Streets of Rage 4 looks SMOOTH - beautifully animated. It legit looks really fun to play! The action figures look great but, naturally, I'm annoyed they announced a Rugal before a Geese one! đ

I might be alone in this, but I'm not a fan of the art style the new Streets of Rage game is going with. Reminds me of Double dragon neon too much, and I wasn't a huge fan of that art style either (still a great game though). I just prefer the old pixel art style better. *insert crotchety old man memes here*

Conversely, I'm sick to death of every goddamn indy developer seemingly using the same tired and abused pixel art graphical style. I've gotten to the point where I will actively skip games that are pixel art. A lot of the ones I've played have had minimal depth and the only charm they had was the pixel art style. I mean, I like pixel art, but at some point, the nostalgia boner will deflate, if it hasn't already.

That's a really good point. :) There's definitely been alot of half-assed indy games over the years with pixel art graphics. Some pretty good as well, but I can definitely see your point.

FFVII Remake demo out on the PS Store now.
My Amazon.ca tracker says my copy of One Punch Man might be here today as well.

Ghost of Tsushima update - June 26th release date.
EDIT: I'll also throw this in, no confirmation, just a rumor right now, that Blue Point is working on Remastering the original Tenchu series (presumably 1,2,3) to be released as a collection.

Donât even f$&k around right now! đ I hope this is actually happens (the Tenchu part!)! Wow, End of June for ghost, I had it in my head this thing would be shifted to a PS5 release. Looks like ANOTHER amazing year for PS4 exclusives with Last of Us part 2 at the end of May as well. Nice!

Hinting that the upcoming AEW video game may be a 'spiritual successor' to the AKI series. The fact Cody directly references a certain video game engine people have been wanting to return for DECADES is a pretty clear hint. Honestly I hope they do either bring the AKI engine back, or some variation of it. I've still been bitter all these years that the WWE pissed away the only wrestling franchise I liked until I discovered Fire Pro/KOC.

Dropping the AKI engine and/or not creating a reasonable facsimile has always been a mystery to me. It has been a fan favourite for decades, and if youâre a fan of wrestling games, itâs a VERY FUN engine to play. I have never liked the Yukes engine, itâs always felt awkward, everything feels floaty, the moves never quite feel impactful, the strikes just feel mushy and more like a suggestion than an attack, and 2Kâs stuff doesnât feel much better in my opinion, either. Dropping the AKI engine or not creating something that reproduces and improves on it for use in a wrestling game at least has always felt like a âwe know whatâs best for you slobsâ kind of dick move by developers, and because itâs wrestling, fans of the source material work around shitty engine after shitty engine, glitch after glitch, suspending disbelief that what weâre playing is good so that we can get our wrestling game fix. To me, not listening to what wrestling game fans really want, especially when the engine they want exists, is akin to deciding that using EAâs Frostbite engine for Madden, or Call of Dutyâs IW engine are trash, and getting another developer to start over and end up turning them to turn-based games. No one asked for it, it wasnât broken and certainly didnât need fixing. Hopefully this new game will deliver on what itâs teasing. I can see them using Yukes since they arenât doing much these days. I could count on one hand the wrestlers Iâd be interested in using from AEW, but if you can make your own dudes, the moves have impact to them again, and Iâm not forced to do a TLC match to progress in story mode, Iâm in! đ
