I’d like to explore making a custom move that fuses the trap handshake with some kind of strike, rather than arm breaker.
But what would be an ideal strike l? If pulling toward your opponent with a handshake you’d be connecting with their side, not front. So enzuigiri? Though I still like the idea of a mid body knee blow, for less agile wrestlers.

Elbow strike? Groin kick perhaps? Short lariat or rainmaker lariat mayhaps? :)

Knee to the exposed ribs maybe? Seems like it'd be a natural thing to follow it up with

You hand shake. They try to pull away, and then you pull them back in for a heavy DDT. OR even better, that cutter move regal used to do where he wrapped the arm around first. www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0unmDSYj50

I discussed this on Dawn's stream last week.
I'd love to see a Handshake that is just that...a Handshake. Any offensive variant of the armbar would be cool following the handshake but I'd really just rather "work backwards" and see a regular handshake to build off of.
The handshake armbar would mean so much more if we could actually have a regular handshake as a taunt or even as an offensive move that boosts the spirit of both edits or the one doing the move.
A regular handshake would allow us to lay the foundation for the chicanery that is the handshake armbar. The armbar part of the handshake would mean more as a double-cross if an initial handshake was established first. Imagine a heel starting a match with a handshake only to do it again at the end of the match (after a sequence where both edits kicked out of big moves) but use the armbar version of the handshake instead! Instant heat. It would also be a cool way for a face to turn heel during a tough match where they get frustrated.
Plus, having JUST a regular handshake available would allow 90% of our indy edits to be accurate 😀

Pretty sure someone made a regular handshake with the original move pack. You would need to do some digging now, but it exists.

Wow, I wasn't aware of that. Very glad to hear it. Is that pack compatible with 2.0?

Yeah, custom moves were ported over to 2.0. I think the process for loading moves is different now, but you should still be able to find that handshake. Worst case scenario, you can ask around on the Mod Suite Discord Server and see if anyone can provide more details.

Cool, thanks for the info! I really would love a regular handshake in the game. It would do wonders for some of my face edits and lead to awesome heel turns down the line as well.

And if the alignments match perfectly, it turns into a secret handshake that gets an automatic 100% 😁

Otherwise you pull a Chavo Guerrero '98.
