So, this is a post I've been hoping to avoid having to make, but alas...here we are. Unfortunately I need to take a step back from doing ZIP JAPAN for the foreseeable future.
I've been running biweekly shows since April of 2017, and I'm definitely feeling a little bit of burnout. Mostly though, it's just an issue of time. As I'm sure many have noticed, I haven't had time to do proper promo work for a while now, and even finding the time to write up events results has been getting harder and harder. Actually getting out to support the shows of the community members who support ZIP JAPAN is even rarer, an unfortunate fact that often makes me feel sheepish and guilty.
Sadly, the demands on my time are likely only going to increase in the near future, as I have hundreds of hours of job related training I need to complete in the next year. ZIP JAPAN has been my baby for over 14 years, and if I can't devote the time I want to doing it right, I'd rather take a step back and shelve things until I can do it justice. I really wanted to do another Z-1 Climax this fall, but I just can't see it happening at this point.
That being said, I'm not closing the doors completely, and I may well do one-off shows when time allows. Maybe cross-promotional shows with other guys and their feds, who knows...but the era of regular shows every other Friday is over. In the meantime, I will try to still be a semi-active part of the community and hope that others will continue to use ZIP JAPAN edits on their own shows. Champions or not, kayfabe dead or retired, whatever, if people want to use my edits in their own e-feds and streams, please do so. Carte Blanche.
Anyways, to everyone who was been a part of the last couple of years of ZIP JAPAN, please know you have my sincere and genuine thanks for your support. Pro wrestling is about giving the fans what they want to see, and I'd like to think I've delivered some fun times and exciting moments with ZIP JAPAN. Hopefully I can again in the future. tl:dr version The next ZIP JAPAN show is probably going to be the last one for a while, so don't miss it! The lineup for ZIP JAPAN Final Fight has been posted on the first page! It's a stacked card, and every title will be on the line! See you there!

It's a bummer to hear this, but that's life, we have our priorities, and frankly, I could see myself in this exact situation within a year's time. Hopefully, you'll find that you'll have more time to run those occasional shows than you thought, but if you can't, that's ok, too. Of course, your guys will still get some solid work across the Office, whether we get more ZIP talent in L-Pro, Nakajima and Newfie continuing to battle in the Old Guard division in TIPWF or perhaps even a ZIP team in Wacker Drive Revival. They're too good to remain inactive! And that last show looks like one heckova event to go out on for the time, I think Shimura might well be the toughest opponent yet for Starr, he's agile enough to keep up with his speed and resilient enough to endure Starr's offense.

Deni, I'm really sorry that you have to put things on hold. The burnout plus the lack of time (and likely lack of energy that will come with the increased time at work) makes running a fed really difficult. And I hate running things in a way that makes me feel I'm not doing my best. That's why I ended UBL years ago and have put it on hiatus multiple times over the past few years. My hopes are that you will find pockets of time to do some individual shows or ZIP-styled projects that will allow you to revisit things when you can. I'm sorry that I haven't been able to catch your biweekly shows. Weekend nights, when most people run shows, are pretty tough for me. I tend to be online in the late afternoon or really late night/early morning and miss 99% of community live stream events these days. It's disappointing to me that I miss so much. Actually getting out to support the shows of the community members who support ZIP JAPAN is even rarer, an unfortunate fact that often makes me feel sheepish and guilty. You put it perfectly there and I feel the exact same way. I use to watch and comment on like everyone's posted traditional show (and attend as many live streams and dojos as possible) and I don't have the same time to do that anymore. It's disappointing to me. So, this is a post I've been hoping to avoid having to make, but alas...here we are. I feel like I've been doing the same and just kind of waiting until I have to make the same post, much as Senator said. It's only a matter of time before I have to take a step back again. If I'm lucky, I can complete my current tour by the end of the year but I'll probably have to scale back my own expectations for frequency and depth at some point in the next few months and certainly once the tour is over. It's just kind of the way things go with us long time e-fedders who have increasing RL demands. I'm honestly thankful for any second I get to spend in my own head in my world and any second I get to express that in posts to the community. I never thought UBL would come back after I ended it in 2011 so its kind of a miracle I've had the "return" run that I did. But in the back of my mind I keep telling myself that I have to slow things down due to increasing demands from other parts of my life, even though I really don't want to. I know how difficult it was to just come to terms with the fact you needed to do this and then write that post. You have our full support and understanding. I'm going to start booking Newfie George in UBL and take a closer look at your current roster 😎 Some of the ZIP edits I used to book in the Front Lines can definitely make some return appearances too. Would love to do my part to keep your guys hot in the interim....and also use that heat for ubble lol 😁 Anyways, to everyone who was been a part of the last couple of years of ZIP JAPAN, please know you have my sincere and genuine thanks for your support. Pro wrestling is about giving the fans what they want to see, and I'd like to think I've delivered some fun times and exciting moments with ZIP JAPAN. Hopefully I can again in the future. You definitely have and I am 100% sure you will again once you get some more free time in the future 😎

I've always considered ZIP to be the standard bearer for how to run a consistently great efed where every show is entertaining. People in this community disagree (a lot sometimes haha) but its tough to find someone that doesnt agree that ZIP is top notch.
Real life stuff always comes first, we'll all try to hold down the fort while ZIP is away. I do hope ZIP still pops up from time to time, but until then you better believe we'll see some guest spots over in Warrior Pro.

Welp, we're just gonna all have to show up for Final Fight and make it a big-time party then, aren't we?
Dude, ZIP is far and away the top fed in this community and very, very few other feds even deserve the honor of being mentioned in the same breath as ZIP. Certainly for me it was one of the most inspiring things to be found in these forums. And I'd say even more important than the excellent wrestling action, superb edits, and the deep lore and all that was the fact that your streams were always fun, pleasant, lively, and welcoming places to hang out, which in my opinion is the #1 most important thing of all in e-fedding: fellowship with your e-wrestling brothers and sisters to keep this bizarre super-niche hobby of ours alive. You're a damn hero in this community and the legacy of ZIP is undeniable; whatever you decide to do in the future will have no shortage of support from all of us.

Take all the time you need, Deni. There's been plenty of epic bouts you have provided to satiate our needs.
Sen, Firehawk, I, and many others will hold down the fort.

Deni, I know I've missed a ton of show recently, and I'm not sure I will be able to make this one. But ZIP has been awesome to follow, and I owe you such a huge debt for teaching me how to make my edits work the way I wanted them too. Not sure I'd have made 10 edits, let alone close to 100 without your time, your patience, and your knowledge.
Thanks Man.
Hopefully when the time is right, and all of that annoying real world nonsense let's go of you, we can all reconvene and watch ZIP Strikebot make all of our edits his bitch.

"The king's a beggar, now the play is done: All is well ended, if this suit be won, That you express content; which we will pay, With strife to please you, day exceeding day: Ours be your patience then, and yours our parts; Your gentle hands lend us, and take our hearts." -William Shakespeare, All's Well that Ends Well ZIP Japan has been a cornerstone of the Critical Alliance upon its reformation, a constant star in the sky, a biweekly metronome of wrestling goodness every other Friday night. And now, the era of ZIP regularity comes to an end, but as it does so, we get one epic Final Fight to close things out. And I would be remiss if I didn't bust out one good ol' fashioned hypefest to match! So, come 8:00 PM (ET)(ZIP O'Clock), tune into the ZIP Channel for the all out conclusion! www.twitch.tv/therealdenizenAnd for an event that promises to be one of the greatest in modern wrestling history, we have a main event to match, with two of the never-say-die heros of wrestling meeting up to do battle over the ZIP Heavyweight Championship! Daisuke Shimura is one half of Team Fighting Spirit, and has multiple reigns up top in singles competition as well, with his otherworldly resiliancy and his impact abosorbing afro ensuring that it takes nothing short of a tactical nuke to keep him down for good. But a compact nuke may well be a good description for the current ZIP Heavyweight Champion, the Go-Go Gaijin himself, Justin Starr, who has ascended from Junior Heavyweight dominance to become one of the most dynamic Heavyweight champions in recent history. That, my friends, is what you call a match. But of course, that's just the tip of the iceberg, as the ZIP Joshi title is up for grabs, with the dominance of Momoe Ito being challenged by the presumptuous claim of Suki ZIP, who seeks her very birthright in her pursuit. And since every single title is on the line, the doofus Doogan Brothers will see if they can set a record time in squashing two Jr. Heavy chumps in Rekless Endangerment...but from the perspective of Johnny Rekless and Danger Daniels, perhaps it's merely a matter of outworking two lunkheads to capture the belts on such a day. Finally, Shuji Tsukamoto proved his mettle with a recent victory over Ichiro Katagiri to capture the Junior Heavyweight title, and will need to be as vicious and sadistic as ever as he takes on the best boots in the business, and the man who wears them, Yutaro Ichikawa in what promises to deliver a show stealing spectacle. Mind you, ZIP has often more than matched the top part of the card with what comes before. As such, a match that could main event most events, Touma Tanaka, Mr. Suplex, Jin Matsuda and GORO is merely the transition between the undercard and the title bouts. Three champs, and a rising star in the making in this one, folks. You get one of ZIP's most demanded lost treasures in King ZIP vs. the unstoppable Gorobei in his absolute prime in 2003 for the archives, finally reaching the broadcast a decade and a half later, the ultra popular Storm of the Century clashing with their less than popular counterparts in Pure HEEL, one last go around for HAGE and Hamada, the Uncrowned Ace Akira Shinjo against the dastardly Demon Otsu, a Joshi battle royale containing CUTIE BOOTIES!! and Mr. 450 himself against the ugliest face in human history, Super Scorpio opening up the show! This is wrestling, this is puroresu, this is what you asked for, this is what you're getting, this is ZIP Japan Final Fight! wow, awesome stuff Senator. Thanks so much for doing this hype post for me, as I overslept this morning and had no time to do it myself :P
Senator is right though, this may well be the final ZIP JAPAN show for a long time, so Reiko has booked a WrestleQuest worthy card packed top to bottom with the promotions biggest stars. The show starts tonight at 8pm EST, I hope to see lots of you there!

I literally wandered into the stream on a fluke, before I saw the post that ZIP is going on ice. Thanks Denizen for all that you have done. I have a fingernail scratch experience sending my edits through a ZIP show and it was an exhilarating experience. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion.
