The Amazon-1 Grand Prix
Amazon-1 is a women's wrestling promotion operating out of Hollywood, Florida and tours across the US. They're running the Amazon-1 Grand Prix Tour across the country. 32 Women will enter, but only one will hold the A-1 GP Trophy.
MC: "Hello everyone, Michael Check here and I'm with women's wrestling icon Crazy Red here to host the breakdown for the first round's matches. Red, have you ever seen a tournament quite like this?"
CR: "Never, Mike. I've been in plenty of eight-women and sixteen-women tournaments in my career but never one with 32 women from all over, and never one with such a depth of talent as what's on deck."
MC: "Alright Red, so let's see who's facing off in round one..."
MC: "Oh WOW. Gutter from Women of Mass Destruction vs the former A-1 Champion Bonnie Blair. Both women are heavy favorites to win it all and they're facing off in the first round!"
CR: "It's well documented that Gutter and I have had a bitter rivalry so it's hard for me to be impartial here but this is going to be a fantastic matchup. Gutter is known as the Women's Extreme Icon for a reason, she brought the idea of women in ultraviolent matches to the mainstream, and she's got some of the most feared striking skills in all of sports. She's knocked out men nearly three times her size and competed in MMA."
MC: "Bonnie Blair on the other hand a fantastic athlete, capable of winning in so many ways, and loves to use shortcuts on her way to victory. She'll be looking to use one of her myriad of submissions and pins to advance here, but let's not forget Gutter is tough as nails."
CR: "Speaking of submissions, both of these women are known for her submission skills. Terra is the female representative of the CHICKEN CLUB stable, as well as one half of the A-1 Tag Team Champions and known for her deadly suplexes and her crippling finisher The Scavenger's Daughter."
MC: "Zara Al-Harbi however is the talk of the women's wrestling world. The Roxbury, MA native with an Iranian heritage, Zara learned martial arts as a way of dealing with bullies and has become a standout in the amateur circuit before moving to the pro wrestling ring. And since her debut a few months ago she's been the hottest free agent. Her kicks are devastating as is the armbar she's used to defeat many opponents in her young career."
MC: "This one is sure to be interesting as the undead warrior Annie Bell-Lee faces off against the other half of the A-1 Tag champs. Annie Bell-Lee is known for her physical style and intimidating presence. On the other hand St.Dumas is a technical wizard known for her vicious leg submissions."
CR: "Annie Bell-Lee is absolutely scary, but I've seen her type before. Their stength is those mindgames but also their weakness, if they face someone who isn't fazed by them they end up faltering. That being said that's easier said than done but if Marie is smart she'll focus on mental preparation for this fight."
MC: "Princess Ranger and 'The GamePro' Lara Lockhart are both up and comers looking to leverage the GP to some forward momentum. Both women are very athletic with dynamic abiliities, Princess however focusing on speed where Lockhart focuses on power."
CR: "Speed vs Power is usually won by Power, but Ranger is the more experienced of the two and that may be the edge the Princess needs. In the end though this may end up being down to who makes less mistakes."
MC: "Ahh the rivalry as old as time, forget pirates vs ninjas, that's nothing compared to the blood fued between aliens and vampires! Can an alien become a vampire?"
CR: "I don't know Mike but I would favor Camarilla in this. Martian Invader is pretty tough but Camarilla has a mean streak a mile wide and can choke you out in many different ways."
CR: "This is going to be an interesting one, Mike. Bella Hemlok was the first-ever WMD Champion and known for her sadistic submission-based style. KANABO on the other hand is a force of nature. I got to be in the ring with her during the tail end of my career and the opening of hers. I saw potential in her and she's exceeded it."
MC: "When you name yourself after a warclub you better be tough. KANABO can definitely take punishment but Hemlok is an expert at giving it. But what will happen when it's KANABO's time do dish out punishment?"
MC: "Both of these women come to us from Ladies of Lucha where Queen Bee is LOL's Fighting Time Winner champion, Soldier 2501 on the hunt for the gold, which of course will not be on the line."
CR: "2501 has a killer instinct but Queen Bee is a veteran of the ring, her Honeycomb Clutch has submitted many an opponent. 2501's been scouting it though, if she can avoid it she might pull off the relative upset."
MC: "This is another one to look forward to for sure, The Warrior Queen Alena Sturmbjorn vs Bianca Espada. Both freelancers though Bianca is one half of the WMD Tag Champions, Reinas de la Calles. The Reinas don't do much singles action, Red, how will that come to play?"
CR: "It's going to be an adjustment. When I was in The Denim Gals I'd have to remind myself when in singles action I didn't have Cowgirl Jane Porter to tag out to. And Sturmbjorn is used to being a lone wolf so she will have no such issues. Bianca IS used to fighting powerhouses, however, so there's that."
MC: "Drunk And Disorderly Sharon Medina vs The Indestructable Kelly Condor. Two of the toughest women in this tournament. Sharon is a roughhouse style brawler while Kelly has a more technical base."
CR: "Medina is the more experienced of the two but Condor is used to being in the underdog slot. If she can capitalize on any mistakes Medina makes during this match she might be able to advance here."
MC: "This one is sure to be violent! Ripper Reno is a freelancer, leader of The Raiders of the Wasteland, Honey Badger a regular in WMD. Reno loves a good throwdown and loves to use her streetfighting ability to her advantage with a solid mat game. Honey Badger is lightning quick and utterly fearless, and loves to get into bloody scraps."
CR: "One thing that might set them apart in this match, other than Reno's mat game, is Reno having more experience, not just in years but in variety of opponents. Reno is also used to wrestling outside of deathmatch enviroments which the Badger is less familiar with. That can make a difference and Reno is the favorite coming into this."
MC: "The Cyberpunk Idol TEK*GIRL Saiba comes from Tokyo, Japan, being former model and nightclub owner and having made the transition to pro wrestling. She can do it all in the ring, submissions, high flying, knockout blows like her signature VR Drill. Andi Harms will have an uphill battle here."
CR: "Andi may have less of a pedigree but she's an accomplished submission grappler and very scrappy to boot. The flash and showwomanship of some wrestlers can throw you off your game, make you less confident of your own abilities, but as long as Andi can keep that confidence and keep this on the mat she can win this."
CR: "Spaghetti Starchild, the daughter of the Extreme Hippy Munchie Starchild, has lots of ways to win a match and has shown a ton of promise. Gina Teller focuses on only one way to win a match, but it's a doozy."
MC: "She's known as One Punch Girl for a reason, her punches are absolute dynamite. If she can land one of her punches that will probably be the deciding factor of the match. That being said, people with one big move become more predictable as a result and that's an advantage to Spaghetti."
MC: "This will be an interesting contest. Clockwork Angel is no stranger to tournaments having competed in several in the past, Mortebella on the other hand is less familiar with this being a newcomer to the sport."
CR: "That being said Mortebella's got quite a following so far in her young career thanks to her showy style and punishing signature moves. Clockwork Angel is unlikely to be impressed, the Angel IS a robot after all, and Clockwork Angel has been able to do her Clock Strikes Twelve pancake move on men... 400 pound men, even!"
CR: "Oh boy, this one is not going to be pretty at all. Ximena Valentina is the other half of Reinas de la Calles, and the team they beat for the WMD Tag belts? The Stone Sisters, Big Jen and her sister Bad Judy. Judy failed to qualify for this tournament but Big Jen did, and there's a reason why they call her Big Jen."
MC: "Six foot Eight and throws her opponents like rag dolls. Ximena is no stranger to the overwhelming strength of Big Jen however, however her signature move the Heart Breaker involves putting her opponent on her shoulders and she's not been able to do that to Big Jen."
MC: "One of the favorites to win this tournament is 'The Sexual Anarchist' Kathy Queen, reigning A-1 Champion, MCW Ladies Champion, and one half of Team Chaotic Evil with her boyfriend William King. She loves to use mindgames to open up for her devastating Mind Flayer but when that fails she's got a brutal repertoire to fall back on."
CR: "But when the topic comes to brutality you can't look past The Hooligan Holly Houghton. Holly is all about wild bloody brawls including punishing elbows and knees. This is going to be a knockdown drag out fight and may end up being the best of the first round."
MC: "The disciple of the original Death Machine, Death Machine II is a lot like her mentor, punishing blows leading to a vicious mafia kick or an effective katahajime choke. But she's not the only one in the tournament with a famous mentor."

MC: "And that's it for the roundup of the first round matches, keep an eye out for our broadcasts of the tour to see who will lift the A1GP Trophy!"
