So this match is the start of a small project I want to do over the next year. Quick, silly "themed" holiday matches, starting with today's Talk Like A Pirate Day.
There's some very, very silly spots in this match. My own Listalva Anne Heyward, Pandakid's Jessie Callihan, and Dawnbreaker's Pepe La Pirata square off in a triple threat match: last pirate standing is clearly the true captain.
I honestly wasn't sure where the hell else to put this. It's not really part of Phoenix Rising.

I ran a tournament and Okada just blazed through everyone. One Rainmaker, and that was it. In the semi-finals he even Critical'ed Pentagon Jr.
So, the final comes and I decided to personally fight him. I kicked out of The Rainmaker twice, he kicked out of my finish twice and it was my first 100% ranked match.
Lovely stuff

I’m playing Fighting Road, it’s me and Naito vs Yano and someone from Chaos.
Long story short: I low blow Yano and roll him up for the win, in the midst of this Naito comes in the ring, takes a few steps, and does the Yano shrug, then goes back out....I immediatey lost my shit!

So I've been putting in a mad amount of time fine tuning my King Kong Bundy...I feel like he's such a difficult wrestler to "get right." Anyway, long story short, I simmed a bunch of matches between him and Paul Orndorff ...and OMG, some of the best singles matches I've ever had. Not sure if all the tweaking is paying off, or it was just a good night of fights. My screen shot capability is merely taking a photo off of a paused screen, my apologies. But here are two stills of what a bloodbath it was!  ...for the 3 count!  |

 This match... For a bit of background, Kaede is my newest edit, an all around potential ace type with her high flying and well rounded attack. There's a reason she has the new Tanahashi hair(besides the fact that it can make any edit look beautiful...even a jobber). Yamamoto is a power based destroyer who's friends with Crusher Honda. She moves slow but hits like a train, and uses the Okada Neckbreaker as her Trash Compactor finisher. The first time I sim this, Wrecker CRITICALed Kaede about seven minutes in, total demolition. I run it the second time, and it ends up being a match for the ages. I wish I had streamed this one. The two used every move they had, Trash Compactors, Ushi Goroshis, running dropkicks from Wrecker, Stardust Presses, Doctor Bombs and Anaconda Vices from the Stardust Angel. And finally, a huge poisoned rana off the top finished it for Kaede, allowing her to even up the score. That is what I like to see from some new edits. |

I tried to give Rydia a new finisher, Meteo(ra), and she never did it in the ring, but did do it to the outside, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This spot would be really dumb IRL but it's fine in a video game.

Fu So Ya would be proud of Meteo rearing its head inside outside the ring! Love that Mario spot  Senator, that's awesome when you get a match like that in the first few sims of testing out new edits. There really is an "edit momentum" meter (largely internal and corresponds with Spirit) in regards to how we enjoy edits and the ones that are hot early tend to get the best pushes. When I get a dud out of the gate, sometimes I have to take them out back... (I miss the "beating a dead horse" emoji 😂 ) |
