A few notes from the code: A wrestler with a cooperation of 20 or below will never cooperate in tag team matches as the inactive man except when trying to make the save during a pin or submission, anything 20 or less might as well be zero for anything other than cut play.
A wrestler standing on the apron will never attempt to grab a wrestler that has been thrown into the turnbuckle no matter their cooperation. A Wrestler with a cooperation higher than 20 will attempt it if the opponent gets and stays to close and is in a neutral state (walking, running, standing, or groggy).
A wrestler's cooperation is never checked for saving their partner from a pin or submission. It is also never checked if the opponent's teammate enters the ring to break a pin that the wrestler's partner is initiating. Though having activated cut play too recently will still keep the AI from entering.
A wrestler with a cooperation of 34 or greater will move towards the friendly corner when using a front headlock in a tag match, a wrestler with a cooperation of 33 or less will ALWAYS move towards the center regardless of it being a singles or tag match. The opponent's health does not make holds from behind more or less frequent. The will not occur until an opponent's health reaches about 40% and will occur at the same frequency after that. The decision to do a piggyback vs. a hold from behind is linear. The AI will always attempt to do a piggyback first, and if that succeeds that's the end of the process. It will only attempt to do a hold from behind if the piggyback fails first. The piggyback (doomsday position) requires the following things: 1) The grapple must happen close to the friendly corner, 2) a teammate must have a move that is able to connect with an opponent in the doomsday position, 3) the teammate with the capable move must be within diving distance of the grapple. The game doesn't stop once it finds a single teammate (not sure why, because continuing the loop is unnecessary, and this is inefficient) it will check every teammate, even though only one of them needs to pass the check. Thanks. Yea, i noticed that at 20 they stopped trying to grab the opponent. I thought i was bugging out. I gave up on the piggyback version of the Doomsday. I get the double team corner version way more now. I don't feel Cooperation over 65 is needed for double teams in any position. Any higher and moves become super repetitive. I was taking notes on paper how often teams would go for double teams while testing Cooperation.

Another thing to note is that when one partner holds the opponent from behind whether from the apron or a regular back grapple, the cpu always uses the attack designated for the (X+A) strike button. It annoys me to see a roll up come from a partner in this position. I suggest not to have that roll up pin for (X-A) strike button if you want to see your partner lay in a double team strike.

I honestly don't think I've EVER seen a tag match where the guy on the apron grabs their opponent. I wish that WOULD happen more often it would make the game even better.
On a similar note on the steam board I've heard people say it's possible to throw your opponent down after they've climbed the turnbuckle but I can't figure out how to do that.

i can honestly say that i have seen the apron-grapple from the inactive partner -- and it is sick when it happens! I've seen a number of times now on the PS4 version. Actually, a few things are happening more from the AI on the PS4 version. From the AI, I've seen: - More outside dives. I only saw one in a year on the PC. I see it frequently on PS4. - Okite Yaburi!! I've seen it two or three times now. I didn't see this at all on PC. None. - Corner-to-center moves seen to happen more frequently, as they're supposed to for certain guys. - The AI, to me, seems better in the release version. (What's on PS4 now, presumably part of the NJPW DLC update on PC). I haven't seen the CPU standing around at times on PS4 (hallmark of WWE games), it happens frequently on PC.

Press the X or A button + directional pad (press towards the corner post) to throw the opponent off. Is this new? I never knew this was possible. I can't remember if it was in Returns. Up until last year, i haven't played fire pro in years. It's definitely in the manual though. There is also a way to pull them off the turnbuckle in tag matches if you are on the apron (X + directional pad).

You can grab the opponent's leg when on the apron, but I don't think you can pull them off. Mainly, it's to buy your partner time to recover before a dive or throw the opponent off the turnbuckle himself (not that the AI ever does this).
