I suppose it's high time I bothered putting some work in here. From the ashes of an edit that's unlikely to ever see the light of day (thanks to some behind-the-scenes decisions I made), comes something much different. I don't have a name for this girl yet. But suffice to say she shares some similarities to Eri Sentarl... in her gear, in her moveset, but make no mistake, she's nothing like Eri in personality and attitude. Work will continue on her over the next week or so, most likely: I'm intending to come up with two more alt attires (her second is a color-swap of the one above), and I'm going to try and do some balancing work as well to ensure she's not too overwhelming. Current tests have her fully capable of blitzing down her opponents, I'd like to back that off just a touch.

Since that last pic, the edit has gotten a slight color re-design, a name (Fenix Oscuro), and a full release. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1454168267She should come in somewhat middle-of-the-pack in my women's division, likely leaning towards the top half/third. Strong, but not too much. Probably still going to work some on her fourth attire, but for the time being, I think I'm mostly satisfied with where she's at... which may change once I start seeing what other people think of her.

A certain old veteran is just about to get a bit of a re-work: here's a small preview of what Winifred Wright is changing up. In addition to a slightly tweaked look, Winifred is intending to change up her in-ring style a bit... she'll be working towards a brand-new submission that'll likely be shown off soon enough.

In the past I've alluded to the reason Candace Monroe abandoned her MMA career and left to join Phoenix Rising under the guidance of Alexandria Kirison. This is the woman that set her on that path by beating her in the cage. Leona Sterling is a Scottish fighter that put together quite the impressive resume during her MMA career, and would retire from the sport undefeated, racking up a few regional championships to her name. After hearing how Candace had found success even after her crushing defeat, Leona became curious, and watched the young Australian perform in Phoenix Rising... and found herself eager to join in. Leona's likely to be heavily experimental. I'm not sure when she'll be released, and in what state she'll be in when it happens, but tentatively, I intend for her to still be very heavily MMA-influenced, which I'm sure will put a few people off. I may do two versions of her, though both will still be in the strictly "Pro Wrestling" format (she -will- work a match, that much I can guarantee): one version that utilizes her heavy MMA background, and one that's a bit more "wrestling" focused. Leona's come about much the same way Candace did: just a bit of futzing around in edit mode (and a little guidance from Hana, who's as helpful as ever, thanks Hana :D)

Let's go over a little bit of story-time. See, there's a bit of a snarl when it comes to the Kintelas family, as it turns out. Some people have been spotting little similarities between Blake Dynamite and Telan Kintelas... and, well, while they're not really -directly- tied together, it does happen that they are... somewhat related. Try to keep up here: OK. Blake Dynamite was born Blake Sheridan, to a woman that would later leave her first husband and re-marry later on: to none other than Kileas Kintelas. Blake and Telan looking so similar? Well, that's a coincidence. Don't worry about it. Not the point. Eventually this woman would also leave Kileas... in both cases it wasn't a huge blowout break-up, but the fact remains that she married twice, and divorced twice. So what does this have to do with this young woman here? Meet Amber Wright. See, after Kileas's first wife left her, he wound up in a relationship with none other than Winifred Wright... and Amber was the result. So, yeah. Honestly, the whole thing sounds quite a bit more dramatic than it really is. (Legitimately, though, this literally all came about solely because of the "Blake and Telan are the same person" memes over the last few weeks. So hey, it's given a bit of backstory to a few edits, and spawned Amber, here.) So let's quickly run this down one more time for simplicity's sake: Blake is a half-brother to Laenara and Victor Kintelas (they share a mother). Amber is a half-sister to Laenara and Victor (They share a father, Kileas). Blake and Amber, meanwhile, are not blood-related at all. Telan is still the weird uncle. The plan with Amber is for her to be another young rookie just stepping into the ring for the first time. She was, of course, trained by her mother, but she's far from Winifred's build, necessitating a different style. Where Winifred is a suplexing powerhouse, Amber is much more technical, grounded... I haven't quite figured out her entire moveset yet. What I do know is that all four of her color schemes are taken directly off of Winifred's, and that she's likely to start out on the weak side of things... though she's gonna be a frighteningly dangerous submission expert when all is said and done.

Three uploads going up tonight (why wait, they're ready, I might as well.) Firstly, Amber Wright is finished and uploaded. See above for her pics. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1506262743Secondly, Leona Sterling is also up and running, she's two posts up. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1506262676Finally, there's this guy, that you may or may not recognize. Way back on the other forum, I posted a preview of Kevin Royce, the owner of the Evergreen Wrestling Federation: a just-barely-above-backyard fed where Mercy Devine got her start. Now, Kevin is finished and preparing to come to Phoenix Rising to join the young woman he helped break into the business. Kevin can be found at this link. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1506262603

I got three new edits uploaded last night, all of which will probably make their stream debuts in about two weeks. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1520553275For years before Phoenix Rising came into being, Tasharun had two allies at his side: a demonic trio that included Argent, and this man, Kantar. Eventually Argent would turn his back on them and go his own way, but when Phoenix Rising's predecessor went out of business, Kantar seemingly disappeared entirely... and hasn't resurfaced until now. Kantar's a mid-level hoss of sorts. All power. No technique, no finesse. My intended role is for him to be something of a gatekeeper on Proving Ground: if you're strong enough to take him down, you're probably ready to challenge the real heavy hitters. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1520553386Pajaro de Fuego has been sitting in a more or less finished state for months now. Figured it was time to release this guy that absolutely is not Firehawk Sentarl, why would you even think that. In all seriousness, as much as I'll lean into that joke, they're not the same person. The similarities in their movesets are purely for the joke's value. Pajaro de Fuego is a much more lucha-style edit, more dives, more quick flash rollups, and more VIVA MEXICO. None of this is going to stop me from continuing to play with expectations. Because after all. I could be lying. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1520584972This one may take a bit of explanation. Sung Moon is a Korean-American: born in Houston and still lives there. And while growing up, she fell in with wrestling in a hurry... and settled on Booker T as her favorite. The very moment she started her career, that was who she sought to emulate in moveset. And so, we now have this Korean girl doing Scissors Kicks and Spinaroonies because she's an absolutely shameless fangirl. She's the only one with the full four attires of this trio since she was easy enough to settle on: the purple/black, the color swap, the Korean flag and a callback to an old Booker T attire that had pretty much that design on it. The Booker T thing was Hana's idea.

So, the DLC is out, and at this point everyone's gonna be asked "what are you doing about it" with their edits. Some of mine are just gonna get updated. Straight up. I probably could upload vanilla versions of the ones I do update, but those versions will 100% be locked in to that state, because I do not intend to update them anymore if I do that. Chances are I may not even bother with it at all. I apologize if this causes you any problems, but... honestly, I've already gone wild with throwing DLC moves and parts onto people, and that's gonna make it tricky to backpedal on. Observe as Eri joins the Seahawks-gear bandwagon alongside her father (and her mother, actually, but I haven't released that version of Shiana yet, shhhhhhh)

This attire actually replaced her "Shiana" gear which had no red on it at all. :P

This is kind of tentative (I want to do a few other color schemes that are more... er, colorful?) but this is what I've been working on since I got up today. I'm still working out a few things, but here's what I know for sure so far. Her name is Veronika Armstrong. Originally from Oakland, California (hence the Raiders gear), she moved up to Washington to join up with the Evergreen Wrestling Federation along with Kevin Royce and Mercy Devine. She stands out a bit among that group, though: as opposed to Mercy who mostly does very simple moves that most anyone could do with a little training, Veronika is a fully-trained wrestler in her own right and knows her stuff. It's often wondered by the Evergreen fanbase why she bothered to come to a second-rate hardcore fed rather than go after something big: but, well, Phoenix Rising sure came knocking after word of her talent got out, and they'd already started up a working relationship with Evergreen anyway... Outside of wrestling, Veronika also has her own metal band. It's a side project for her, focusing on her wrestling career, but she wants to have a backup plan. She also really, really doesn't like Mercy Devine, and the two have had a number of feuds since her arrival. I'll refine this edit a bit more, but she's come about the same way Candace Monroe did: playing around with parts and suddenly thinking "Hey, that looks pretty good."
