With Warrior Pro Wrestling’s DESTRUCTION still a week away, its been a bit of a slow news cycle since Warrior Grounds #20. But there have been a few updates trickling in over the course of the week both regarding Warrior Pro and the broader wrestling landscape... Warrior Pro’s Destruction Press conference, which was originally slated for this week, has been pushed to Monday of next week. Tank gave no comment on the reasons for the move, but it likely has to do with the availability of Rampage Hunter- who recently participated in the house tour in Tiger Stripe Pro. Due to the testing procedures for Warrior Pro, it is likely the push back was to allow proper quarantine for Rampage. The press conference is expected to have comments from Tank McDaniel, as well as interaction from the Main Event participants- champion Machine Gun Mayhem and the challenger Rampage Hunter. Lucha POWER returns this Friday with its first official show since February, not counting a one off house show in March. The show will have the first round of the number one contender tournament featuring virtually the entire roster, plus participation from La Guerra and Santana Family Wrestling. Danny Thorpe, the undefeated former Honoo champion, is said to be working out with an eye towards a pro wrestling debut before the end of the year. While he hasn’t committed to anything, sources say he is in negotiations with UCSS (The Office) and Dragon Fire Japan. There are also rumors that Morgan "Midas" Mathews may be negotiating on his behalf... Speaking of Dragon Fire Japan, the company has been slow to open back up since the pandemic. While rumors have been floated that money issues are tying the company up, officials inside the company insist that is not the case and in fact owner Shintaro Ito is actively planning a December show that could crown the first Dragon Fire champion in years. John Logan was a guest on the Reed Brothers podcast, putting over his rematch with Will Craddock as the biggest match of his career. He mentioned that, win or lose, he would have a major announcement after the show. And finally, the Grim Reapers hosted an outdoor BBQ to raise money for California Wildfire Relief. The socially distanced charity event was said to be a big success, but when asked about their upcoming match, the champs were unusually short on words. Billie Cannon simply stated:

We are a little more than 24 hours away from full on DESTRUCTION, as Warrior Pro Wrestling hosts its first live show since Warriorversary. All championships are on this line in this one, with a few grudge matches and a rematch of a MotY candidate added for good measure. The show will kick off at 5:30pm PT right HERE.
Card Preview: Maverick Reed vs Danny AngeloThis match was made at the request of Maverick Reed after a Danny Angelo powerbomb knocked Rip Reed out cold. Despite both men being accomplished tag team wrestlers, this will give them an opportunity to show off their singles skills, and perhaps set up a rematch once Rip has recovered. Vic Baron vs Red MastersonBoth Vic and Red are looking to rebound from losing their titles at Warriorversary, and there’s no better way than this Texas showdown. This will be the first meeting between the two, but theres been little back and forth talk- its rumored Doc Wyatt has forbidden the big man from talking to the media- but rest assured there will be fireworks in the ring for this one. The winner should have a case to be next in line for either singles belt. John Logan vs Will Craddock (SHTCW)The first meeting between these two stars at Warriorversary brought the house down, with Will Craddock coming out on top. Both men walked out with a ton of respect for the other, and so they’ll run it back one more time to see if they can out do their first match and if Logan can get his win back. Looming over everything is the ominous comments from Logan that, win or lose, he’ll have a major announcement after the show. Regardless, this has the inside track for MotN. Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Grim Reapers (c) vs Jackson Hole Outlaws (Worthy/Carter)The Grim Reapers have done nothing but win since coming to Warrior Pro, and they seem to be brimming with confidence as they prepare for their second title defense. Their opponents have been making a name for themselves in the lead up, as this version of the Outlaws are young and hungry. It would surprise no one if this devolves into a straight up bar room brawl. Warrior Pro Intercontinental Championship: Lance Marshall (Phoenix Rising) vs Doc Wyatt (c)A wonderful slow burning feud between two men that defined their promotions in the early years. After a very close loss last year at New Year’s Bash, Doc Wyatt has been quietly seething while Lance Marshall has not let him forget the win he has hanging over him. Finally, the rematch has been set with the Warrior Pro IC title on the line. Will Doc do what he seems to always do and come up in the biggest moments to avenge his loss? Or is Lance Marshall the Doc Wyatt Solution, and the next Intercontinental Champion? Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship: Machine Gun Mayhem (c) vs Rampage HunterMachine Gun has taken his role as World Champion… very seriously. He has been virtually unstoppable all year, winning the G2 and beating Vic Baron at Warriorversary. But Rampage Hunter is a whole different ball game. The Belt Collector has been running wild all over the country for multiple promotions, always with an eye on the belt he no longer holds. They’ll need to re-enforce the ring for this one, and it would seem unlikely that both men walk out of the ring when all is said and done. This should be a classic.

We’re on the doorstep of another Warrior Grounds, which will come to you straight out of Gorilla Hall tomorrow night. Championships will be defended, and careers will be on the line in what is widely expected to be the final house show of the calendar year- and the lead in to End of the World on November 19th. Match Preview:Baron Family vs Gears of WarIt has been over a year since these two teams last faced off- with the Baron’s ending GoW’s first title reign. The Barons would never defend the belts, dropping them due to injury. Now they have a shot at redemption, and a chance to face of against the Reapers. Gears of War have their own unfinished business with the champs, and a win here would set the stage for a rematch of arguably the two best tag teams in the company. Intercontinental Championship: Doc Wyatt vs Danny AngeloDanny Angelo is trying to make a name for himself. The rising star has impressed as a part of the Ballerz tag team, but could we see a jump to singles glory? Following to brutal knockout victories, Angelo will get a crack at the reigning Intercontinental Champion Doc Wyatt. Wyatt will have to be careful not to look past this fight and towards the 7 foot challenge in Brick Casey thats waiting for him at End of the World. Can the Danny Angelo pull off the miracle upset? Or will Doc walk into his showdown with Brick Casey still champ? John Logan vs Red MastersonWhen Tank McDaniel made John Logan his first signing of Warrior Pro Wrestling over two years ago, he did it with the idea that Logan would lead the company through its early years and into national prominence. That hasn’t really worked out. Despite a mountain of success, and a slew of impressive victories, one thing has eluded John Logan- a championship. With his contract up at the end of the year, the two men created an agreement- win a shot at the belt, and then win the belt itself, or both sides agree to move on without each other. Logan’s first test will be a steep one. Red Masterson is coming off an impressive G2 tournament, and he just decisively beat former world champ Vic Baron. A win from either man will create a truly worthy challenger for MGM in a few weeks- the question will be whether Red Masterson can work his way out of Doc Wyatt’s shadow, or will Machine Gun get the rematch he has been actively pining for...

It has been an unusually quite run up to Warrior Pro Wrestling’s year end show, with no news last week following up from an eventful Warrior Grounds. Rumors that the show may get delayed or turn away fans due to rising corona virus cases only intensified when the show’s start time announcement was delayed. Those fears were put to bed this weekend, when press tours kicked off and the show was confirmed to still be on, with fans. Lefty McDaniel took a conference call confirming that End of the World will take place THIS THURSDAY live on Twitch at 5:30pm PT. He also confirmed that Warrior Pro was working with the Golden State Warriors on their comprehensive testing plan, using Warrior Pro’s smaller crowds to fine tune what hopes to be the model for this upcoming NBA season. Lefty also confirmed a press conference for tomorrow with both members of the Main Event for the show, John Logan and Machine Gun Mayhem. Lastly, Lefty announced the iWe showcase match would be a lucha match- featuring a La Guerra showcase between Cicatrices vs Tocapelotas. In other news… The Reed Brothers, both injured at the hands of Danny Angelo, stated on their podcast this week that they are both out of action for the rest of the calendar year. They were vague about any planned rematch with the Bay Ballerz. The Massholes had a… brief… appearance at a Senatorial Office show last week before being escorted out of the building for being too inebriated. When asked to comment Warrior Pro stated that the tag team hadn’t been employed by the company in over a year after the two were caught stealing beer from a concession stand and were presumed homeless. Sources indicate the tag team has been squatting in the Luxurious Lounge but calls to David Harley have not been returned… An opponent for Austin Baron’s newest Young Gun has not been officially announced, though the expectation is that Austin will call out an opponent after the press conference tomorrow. Sources say it is likely a member of The Office, though its tough to know for sure...

A message from the Senatorial Office and Lightning Pro: Koji Sawada: (Translated from Japanese) <They tell me that I am supposed to travel over to California on short notice. And that is the life of a professional wrestler, to be able to drop everything at a moment to seek the next opportunity. I am told that a major opportunity awaits in Warrior Pro, on one of their biggest events of the year. A featured match would be a major step up from what Chairman Ito has offered me before now. I did not hesitate to accept the match even before I researched my opponent. But as I look, I see that the person I am facing is not someone who is established in this sport. It is another rookie. For years, I have fought rookies, over and over again. For years, Lightning Pro kept me in the Dojo as it gave real opportunities to others in my class. And now, as I get my big chance, it is against a rookie again!
Sawada: I was not happy with this choice. But I spent time thinking about it. And now I realize that even if this is not the match I preferred, it is a match I can work with. I am no longer Koji Sawada, the Young Lion. I am now the Rookie Killer. And I will show this Bull Bronson what the meaning of this change is. I will teach this Bull Bronson how to pay his dues! I will show him that the quick path to the top is an illusion! I will break him down on the mat and I will hear his pain when he is trapped in the Rookie Killer hold, the Sawada Lock! And then he will have a greater appreciation for what rookies must do before they get their big promotion!
