I couldn't believe I was playing a new Fire Pro last night, and as a huge NJPW fan it was amazing. I first got FPR on a modded PS2 back in like 2006 and then got it on the PSN on PS3, so this was just so amazing. I dove into the Edit Mode and played three matches, getting a 100% on my third bout ever (Tanahashi (me) vs. my edited Okada, 24 minutes and I won with High Fly Flow). I can't wait to go home and play again but I have a ton of questions about little things in the game.
1. Referees. Does anyone know the base Red Shoes Unno stats? I found the Ref Edit guide that gives the best options for Count Speed, Down Speed etc. and am interested in seeing how they compare. Also, can you not edit referees you downloaded? I downloaded a Japanese Tiger Hattori but cannot see his stats or edit his name/appearance. I restarted the game after subscribing and got all the ring textures I chose, but not the ref although I can select him in matches.
2. Logic. I'm sure people have tested the NJPW edits but how is their logic overall? I slowly started editing Okada and made some basic changes (mostly to ensure he doesn't win with a German Suplex Hold in the late part of a match) and noticed a lot of great priority settings already. Any mandatory logic edits you all recommend?
3. Corner to center moves. Is the approach still making this like 100% in CPU Logic since it was so hard to get AI to do it in FPR?
4. Striking contest/test of strength. How do you win this? D-Pad mashing like submissions, or button mashing?
5. Seconds, Does the camera still zoom out if you have a manager like in FPR? I forgot to test this but am curious.
6. Finisher name. Is this option gone totally? Now we only have the option to re-name the move itself? That seems silly but I can deal with it as I pretty much play NJPW exclusively.
7. Any other little tips/tricks you'd like to share? Especially with gameplay. It seems identical to FPR and I have hundreds of hours played/editing so I feel comfortable and can easily win on level 8 at this point. But anything new would be great.
