Im not going into the Fighting Road spoiler thread but I gotta get this out, this mode is the drizzling shits. Did they write the “story” in a day? Thank god my time in the SWA is over because SC couldn’t write American pro wrestling to save their lives. “You reignited my passion for pro wrestling “ Oh fuck off. Worth keeping in mind that Director singlehandedly wrote Fighting Road as his project was imploding and that it's a part of the Fire Pro franchise that gave us such gems as Karts Rowdy and Steel Johnson. If you're expecting some type of literary masterpiece or a perfect 1:1 of western wrestling, you might be approaching it wrong.

Everyone heralded FPG's fighting road, so I had my hopes up. Between the shitty dialogue for the SWA and NJPW guys, the insanely ease of difficulty and the lack of consequences for your actions, really make this mode a let down.

i'm not going into 'fighting road' with too high of expectations - i'm actually on the fence on if i want to read the dialogue - however i want to give it a proper run thru.
i think it can be used as a fair tutorial in what in-ring performance/logic tweaks can do for this game.

So I'm still in the Young Lion bits of Fighting Road, and it tells me to focus on Illegal/Rough moves when doing the match with SANADA. What's the exact rate of them you have to do? I did quite a few chairshots and DQ worthy MMA stuff, but it still said I failed (and I had over 70% rating too)

I don't know if I will get past playing tournaments to try fighting road or mission mode. I am loving setting up tournaments and playing them to the end.

The AI doesn't put up a challenge in the matches, so getting a decent match rating is the only hard part about the damn thing, and even that isn't legitimately hard, it's just artificially difficult because the AI eats a donkey dick in the mode because of the unchanging COM LEVEL. Im talking out of my ass here cause I dont have it on ps4 but going by old games that should make it more conducive to working a good match. It will be easier to carry your opponent just like the pros do. Let them win grapples, set them up to counter you, and time yourself to kick out of their pins at 2.9s

The problem I have is that the AI takes so goddamn long to do anything in the grapple (I think hard mode locks the AI at 6 for normal matches and 8 for title matches or something like that...) in most matches that I run out of patience for their ineptitude.

i think i'm around 35% play/65% sim on my time spent on the PS4 -- and this is far higher in the play-department than i ever thought i would.
honestly, i think the number is probably still climbing!

I only just figured out you can copy entire sections of an edit by selecting face, chest, waist etc and hitting triangle :(

I sure as shit expected better than this. Everyone heralded FPG's fighting road, so I had my hopes up. Between the shitty dialogue for the SWA and NJPW guys, the insanely ease of difficulty and the lack of consequences for your actions, really make this mode a let down. Fire Pro G came out in 1999. When you compare the original Fighting Road (the way you wrestle determines what path you go down + how many paths they had) to other wrestling games at the time (like Wrestlemania 2000 or Smackdown) it was pretty groundbreaking. I never heard of anybody thinking the actual story was good. Maybe somebody that was around during that time can explain it better. I'm curious how they'll integrate the DLC scenarios into the mode for World.
