In the 1970s, the Pro Wrestling Network sprawled across the United States unopposed. Broadcast in syndication nationwide on the DuPont Network, the PWN's seven regional affiliates found themselves able to create iron-clad fiefdoms, localized monopolies over which they ruled with absolute authority. Each of these territories kept to their own devices and rarely were the lines of those fiefdoms crossed. Where opposition emerged, it was squashed. The Network reigned supreme. It was under this status quo that the wrestling industry had thrived for over twenty years.
However, as the decade wore on, the television landscape changed and the DuPont Network found itself unable to adapt. With its syndication in ruins following DuPont's collapse, the PWN was left severely weakened. Challengers appeared. Throughout the late '70s, '80s, and early '90s the Wrestling Wars raged between three sides. In the north, World World Wrestling. In the south, Main Event Wrestling. And in the west, the Pro Wrestling Network.
Glitz, glam, and grunge overtook the world of wrestling in those days as the war produced an abundance of superstars, fast money, and loose women. The days of sportsmanship and honor were replaced by a time of violence and gratuity. Drawn to the sensational offerings of wartime promotions, fans flocked to the fights in record numbers. For a while, business boomed.
In the last days, as the '80s gave way to the '90s , the exposure the industry had found drew new scrutiny to the sport of kings. Questions were being asked, fingers were being pointed, charges were being filed. By 1998, rocked by innumerable scandals at the highest levels of power and facing an increasingly jaded fanbase, the American professional wrestling industry collapsed in on itself.
For twenty years, pro wrestling has struggled to capture even a fragment of its former glory. Today, small independent companies fight over old borders. Most of the old stars are gone. New stars burn out quickly. People have started to forget the transgressions of the past. Still, no one has made a bid to return wrestling to the national stage.
Until now.
On August 31, 2018, a pro wrestling tournament is set to kick off its tour across the United States. Featuring some of the most promising freelance stars of this generation, it aims, at its culmination, to crown a new regent of the squared circle.
Ladies and gentlemen, you are hereby invited to join us for the revival of American wrestling.
This is Power Pro Wrestling.

I need to ask how you do your commentary. How live is it? Because it feels super natural like a live broadcast, but the editing seems too polished to be live. Anyway, definitely enjoying. The characters are so well developed.

The characters are so well developed. The process goes like this. First I'll record the matches, then I'll edit everything together into a rough cut of an episode following a basic script/outline that I've written. We then get together and record commentary over the rough cut. I sync that up (sometimes better than other times), do finishing touches, and then that's an episode. I go into the show knowing everything that's gonna happen, he gets a basic overview of what we're trying to sell and where we're trying to go (without knowing who wins or loses or what big moments are gonna happen). So it's a mixture of genuine reaction and acting. Y'know, wrestling. I do want to do a livestream supercard or special at some point, but the science just isn't there yet on my end.

As the first quarter of the season comes to its close, the Ace Assassin takes on the MMAce: it's Kazuya Kano vs. Donna Reid in the main event! Plus: Karen Rose, Team Mexico, and Panzer are in action! The Golden Crown is still anyone's to claim on this exciting episode of Power Pro Wrestling! The latest episode can be found below and also above in the Episode List. The process goes like this. My internet can be unreliable and just coordinating everything would be a production. That being said, it's something we're interested in doing somewhere down the line. Not opposed to a three-man announce table (even if it's just for one show), but that's not something I'm comfortable with just saying 'yes' to offhand. We'd definitely be open to having a wider pool of voices to draw on at the VERY least. We have a small, talented group currently, but we could really use some more male voice actors going into Season 2 and beyond. That'd be what we could really use.
