Celeste and Inside are free on the Epic store. I really, REALLY, didn't want to install yet another launcher, especially since they pretty want to be bigger than Steam but they just give away quality stuff week after week so not long ago I broke down and installed the damn thing. Having the GOG launcher kinda helps since it shows games on all your platforms. Pretty cool. Both of those are GREAT games, inside is a TRIP, and Celeste is like super meat boy meets cliffhanger. I don’t know shit about any launchers since I do consoles, but install ALL the launchers if you haven’t played those two yet, and get to playing!🙂

I liked Celeste in theory, but that game doesn't have a difficulty curve so much as a difficulty cliff. It gets insanely hard FAST. I ended up getting frustrated enough to straight delete it - I found myself just wanting to beat the levels to shove them up the game's ass, and realized I was no longer having any semblance of fun.
It's a shame, because there's so much the game does well, and when the difficulty is at a manageable level, it's SO fun and has so many cool ideas. I'd love to like playing it enough to stick with it.

Celeste and Inside are great games! Celeste can get crazy hard but it's so satisfying when you beat that obstacle that you've been struggling with for soo long! :) Inside is just fantastic! Great atmosphere, and great puzzles. :)

What do you think about the DLC? What is must have? I don't think any of the DLC are must-haves. They're just adding a few new mechs, and maybe one new environment a-piece.

I'd love to like playing it enough to stick with it. Celeste reminded me of Super Meat Boy, really tough, but doable. It’s not for everyone, but MAN, when you finally beat that beast, it feels pretty epic. I was on a SHMUP tear when I beat Super Meat Boy (that sounded kinda nasty...), tired of huge cut scenes and all of the hand holding, so a crazy twitch platformer was exactly what I needed. I felt like a hero when I beat the game, then laughed at myself when I realized that no one I knew would give half a shit. Celeste definitely captures the feel of SMB, it’s tough as hell but it’s s nice challenge (I’ve only just started the game btw). I am getting a bit tired of the 8/16 bit game look at this point, but if they’re good and you can get a good sale, what the hell.

This little Halloween appropriate gem is on sale on Xbox and PS4 right now in case you somehow missed it until now!
Nth got me thinking about some other good, smaller, in the vein of Halloween games, so just a couple off he top of my head would include Limbo, Outside, Spelunky, Deadlight. Not so small games like The Last of Us and Wolfenstein Old Blood (very fun with very dark sense of humour to it! Much more relaxed in terms of story as far as the Wolfenstein reboots go, don’t sleep on this title, it’s a lot of fun!) are good choices, too. I’m pretty sure all of the stuff I mentioned can be picked up at pretty good prices so that you have more to spend on Halloween treats for yourselves to eat away the jump scare anxiety you’ll accumulate while playing these titles, too! 🎃👻

Great Humble Monthly this month with Soul Calibur VI, Yakuza Kiwami and My Time at Portia - all games were on my wishlist. As always, there are several more mystery games that will be revealed at the end of the month. Keep in mind that Humble is switching its pricing model to Humble Choice so essentially you will pay more but also get more games and everything will be revealed up front. However, anyone with an active Humble Monthly subscription will continue enjoying the new model for an old price. So if you think there's a chance you'd buy a bundle in the future, I think it's a good time to buy now for several months forward and pausing your subscription. You can pause and unpause as many times as you wish, until you get a bundle you like (you will be charged for the current month though).
