I'm sure this has been asked a million times but here goes...
I was in the market for a new laptop anyway and I figured with the NJPW update coming this was a perfect time for FPW. The new one I got is much more powerful than my old one but now I'm experiencing slow down in matches. I'd have a few hiccups on the old machine but nothing really serious. I loaded Steam and FPW Friday night after I got the new laptop cleaned up and it played perfect, no issues other then having to enable V-Synch to get rid of the scrolling lines, no big deal. But today I go to play some matches and there is way more slow down then I'm comfortable with. Anyone have suggestions? I've set the app priority to "high" just in case.

Are you using the expanded moves mods? (or any mods in general) I remember seeing a comment from Carl that it can cause slowdown for some reason.
Bear with the scrolling lines a bit and disable V-sync, do you still get slowdown? V-synch can sometimes cause issues with game in my experience. Otherwise try fullscreen or Windowed, whichever you're not using already. Hard to say what could be wrong, all I can really suggest is "experiment".

Not using any mods yet. I was thinking off turning V-Synch and seeing what happens. Is there a way to fix the lines without V-Synch?
It was really annoying today because it ran so smooth two days ago.

If you're on a laptop, make sure it's not in some dumb fucking mode like "battery saver". That is usually the sort of thing that is overlooked in these conversations when dealing with a laptop.

Yea I turned all those things off but I’ll double check to make sure there isn’t something buried deeper since Windows loves to do that. Game played much smoother today so hopefully it was just a two-time thing.

If your laptop has a dedicated graphics card/chip, are you playing FPWW with the power cord plugged in? I think some laptops will only use the integrated CPU graphics chip when on battery power. My Gigabyte P55 laptop does this.

What are your specs? Would help to know more about the laptop. I play on my Surfacebook and it works nicely. I play windowed at 2560X1440 with Vsync off. I get consistent 60 FPS during matches and in most menus, get some slowdowns occasionally in menus, but not a big deal. Only time I have problems is if the laptop is running hot before playing. The game doesn't seem to make it hot, but charging and certain other tasks do.

Thanks everyone. Thankfully it hasn’t happened again (knock on wood) so I’m going to chalk it up to either the computer or Windows doing some kind of update - even thou I couldn’t figure iout what it was. I still have V-Synch on but I’m going to look more into the “screen tearing” this weekend

You're pretty much SOL when it comes to screen-tearing because the game doesn't come with a native Full Screen mode. No Unity-based games do. I've gotten used to it.
Beyond that, if the game is sluggish, the it's likely your computer or an update like you've already mentioned.
