It's an Evergreen week, surprise surprise. Sayaka Saito vs. Tomiko Takeda
The Sheridan Brothers vs. Crimson Romance
Eternamente Verde vs. Concrete Pete
El Evergringo vs. Skidmark
Andrea Hawke vs. Ash Defiant vs. Babe Ruthless vs. Jennifer Hunter
Kevin Royce vs. Elly Blackwood
Iris Coleman vs. Eddy Introspect
Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox vs. Strawberry Sookie and Penelope Lea
Mercy Devine vs. Sabrina Kicking things off, we have a surprise appearance... perhaps return... of one Tomiko Takeda, perhaps looking for a more permanent home in Evergreen. Though often, where Tomiko goes, often Kaede won't be far behind... will we see both of the Takedas before long? Either way, Tomiko squares off against Sayaka Saito this week, the only member of the Oakland trio to be present this week... Rebecca and Veronika, perhaps, working on something as they take the night off. While it's already clear who's next in line to take on the Evergreen tag champs (after El Verde pulled off a big win), teams are lining up to get their chance next... and the Sheridan Brothers are looking to make a push for themselves. Standing in their goal of putting together a proper winning streak is the dangerous duo that is Crimson Romance... and eMo would love to get their hands on those tag titles once again, without a doubt. It's a double-header between champions and challengers, a preview, perhaps, of the upcoming tag title match between El Verde and the resident big boys. Verde kicks things off against Concrete Pete, as he looks to avenge the defeat Verde handed them last time... Meanwhile, immediately following, El Evergringo takes on Skidmark, who will no doubt be out to cause some mayhem after taking the fall in that very same match. Whatever happens in these matches, though, could set the tone for the title clash that's sure to come at episode 37. A 4-way match that seems absolutely determined to crown a contender: every would-be challenger that rises up looking to dethrone Sookie seems to have their momentum cut off before they can take their shot. Evergreen management is hoping that the winner here will be able to put something together and tackle Sookie in the near future... The last time these two met in the ring was back on episode 24... and since then, their paths have crossed very little, outside of their mutual clash with Young Blood a few weeks ago. But once again, Kevin Royce and Elly Blackwood will shake the Evergreen world... with Elly looking to take her place back at the top, and Kevin holding on to his legendary status. Iris Coleman is perhaps the only other potential challenger left that hasn't run into trouble recently... despite her time with Evergreen being somewhat up and down, she's always put on a good showing from week to week, and now she'll truly be tested as she squares off with Eddy Introspect. This one won't be easy: we've come to know Eddy as a surprisingly crafty opponent, and one has to wonder just how much of his strange antics are him being legitimately weird or clumsy, and how much of it might be an act... Wolfe and Fox are back together, and this time, they've got a clear goal in mind: take the Evergreen tag division by storm. This one's going to be intense... we know how good Kelly and Victoria are as a unit, but they're taking on easily the two most dangerous members of eMo... Sookie, of course, will want to win here to ensure that eMo has another chance to recapture the tag titles that they've allowed to slip away twice now... and it seems that this time, they're taking no chances and sending the most devastating team they can muster. We knew this was coming. We knew it couldn't be stopped. Mercy had already issued the challenge... and Sabrina never even entertained the idea of turning her down. Make no mistake, this one's going to be ugly, it's going to be brutal, and there's simply no telling just how bad things will get before the night comes to an end...

Some nights I just try my hardest to completely blow the whole show, and fate says "no, I've got you covered, you're all right." Match orders got shuffled a bit, and some technical issues resulted in a late replacement in one of the tag matches as well. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/723794115Youtube: youtu.be/GSHBCZ5PbIwQuick Results Tomiko Takeda def. Sayaka Saito Argent and Binak Tonorian def. The Sheridan Brothers (late replacement for Crimson Romance) Eternamente Verde def. Concrete Pete Eddy Introspect def. Iris Coleman Babe Ruthless won the 4-way battle royal Skidmark def. El Evergringo Elly Blackwood def. Kevin Royce Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox def. Strawberry Sookie and Penelope Lea Sabrina def. Mercy Devine (!) Write-ups Tomiko Takeda made a very clear statement with her match opening the show here: as much as Sayaka Saito tried to mount a comeback against Tomiko's overwhelming power, it wasn't enough. A vicious chokeslam out of nowhere put this one away in a hurry, and set the tone for the night. There were... issues, this week, getting Crimson Romance in for the show. And as a result, they had to be replaced against the Sheridans... they'll have their scheduled match at episode 37 instead. But what the Sheridans got instead was a match that no sane person would ever ask for... and for good reason, as Binak and Argent proved late in this match. An absolutely brutal double-finisher spot left the brothers totally wiped out, and the silver giants standing tall. clips.twitch.tv/ThoughtfulJollyPassionfruitSeemsGoodNo, really. El Verde's first crack at the big boys tonight was a resounding success, as Eternamente Verde was on top of her game. This isn't to say that Concrete Pete was a pushover... indeed, he was just as vicious as Verde tonight, leaving both of them bloody and fighting for the finish. But it was Verde's speed and agility that won the day here, a Reincarnation stealing the show and the victory. Shuffled forward on the card a bit, Iris did her best against one of Evergreen's top stars... a man that would likely be Evergreen Champion if anyone besides Sookie held the title currently. But Eddy, crafty as always, had more than a few tricks up his sleeve, and he scored the big-time victory. Andrea Hawke made a somewhat early exit in this one, and led into a 3-way brawl between the others, with nobody willing to give an inch to anyone else. Jennifer managed to take down Ash Defiant with her usual brand of brawling, only to get taken out by Babe Ruthless to end the match shortly thereafter. Skidmark was an absolute wrecking ball in this match. While Evergringo was definitely giving this one his all, Skidmark turned it up to another level, coming off the top with a crossbody, throwing his weight around like it was nothing, and finishing the night off with a running cannonball that left Evergringo absolutely crushed. The on-again, off-again feud between Kevin Royce and Elly Blackwood had another chapter written this week, and once again, Elly found herself evening the score against Kevin. After weathering the storm of powerbombs, claw slams and brutal chairshots, Elly wore down Kevin's arms with her usual offense, then finally scored the win with a big diving splash, bringing their all-time record against each other to 2-2... Kelly and Victoria may be the most devastating submission duo in all of Evergreen. This match was full of submission work from the pair, with Kelly often zeroed in on Sookie's arms... but it was Victoria Fox, cranking hard on a Triangle Lancer, that won the day and forced Penelope Lea to give in. A stunning result, no matter how you look at it... Sabrina has done it again. Another win, and this time against the Evergreen boss? Can anyone stop her? She even seems to have earned some grudging respect from Mercy after this one, having been left a bloody mess, and Mercy would deliver a blockbuster announcement after a brief argument... Sabrina's going to challenge for the Evergreen Championship. And Mercy herself... has some unfinished business with a certain man... the Phantom Thief.

We've got a lot to get through here on Monday, as we finally kick off this colossal tournament I've been trying to prepare for months. Basically forcing myself to finish what's left by putting my own back to the wall. This is smart. I am smart. I am incredibly stupid for doing this and i'm gonna regret it
challonge.com/efnwhjxs - Bracket for the upcoming tournament. By the time I'm finished editing this, everyone should have their state abbreviation next to their names. Preliminary Round Tournament Match: El Evergringo (Nebraska) vs. Kyle Anderson (Maryland)
Preliminary Round Tournament Match: Mercy Devine (Hawaii) vs. Nicole Blade (Maine)
Silver Hawk vs. Todd Colton
Yuki Maeda vs. Urani Whitemist
Blake Dynamite and Mascara Avispa vs. Angel Leblanc and Celine Chevalier
Candace Monroe vs. Layla Al-Amin
Nathan Haines vs. Kellaron Sentarl
Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. La Relampaga
Eri Sentarl and Listalva Anne Heyward vs. Michelle Rochefort and Revon Beauregard
Firehawk Sentarl vs. Mallory Spaulding
Anari Lynn Heyward vs. Telan Kintelas for the Pacific Northwest Championship We've got a small pre-show this week, with two tournament matches that help comprise the somewhat-large preliminary round of the tournament. With 50 wrestlers coming from all over the country, the field is a big one... and this preliminary round will get us down to an even 32 to start things off proper. Kicking things off, El Evergringo, fresh off getting crushed by Skidmark on Thursday's Evergreen show, will get a shot to bounce back as he squares off with none other than Five-Star Kyle... and the Baltimore Savage isn't likely to make things easy on the Evergreen luchador. Our other tournament matchup will see Mercy Devine, also fresh off a surprising defeat on Evergreen, taking on maybe one of the toughest participants in the tournament. Hailing from Bangor, Maine, Nicole Blade has distinguished herself on Proving Ground for a good long while, both on her own and as a member of the Excellent Blades alongside Donna Nobel... but Mercy's brand of violence could help her stay on top here. Moving into Showdown properly, we've got a wild match to kick off the main card. Silver Hawk re-appears to take on Todd Colton, who will surely be looking to keep himself sharp ahead of his own tournament appearance... word has it that he's been granted one of the 14 tournament byes, so he won't be in the preliminary round, but he will face the winner of Evergringo vs. Kyle in the first round... he can't lose focus, though, because Silver Hawk, in his recent appearances, has looked better than ever. It's a clash of titans here... on one side, you have the resident Titan herself, Urani Whitemist, looking to get some momentum going after a rough stretch post-Sky's the Limit. On the other, a living legend in Yuki Maeda, a veteran's veteran, and more than a match for nearly anyone on the roster. This one's gonna get ugly in a hurry, no doubt about it. Blake and Avispa have quickly made a name for themselves as a team, and may very well find themselves taking the tag division by storm as they set their sights on the reigning champions, the Wild West. Standing in their way, however, is a duo that's got lofty goals themselves... as Les Beautes Blondes seek to take every title in Phoenix Rising under their own banner. Angel and Celine will look to shut down one of the most dynamic teams Phoenix Rising has ever seen. The Limbtakers seem poised for a clash with one of the fastest teams in the entire fed... and Candace kicks things off against the incredible Layla Al-Amin. The Cairo Cyclone's speed will be matched against Candace's penchant for legwork, as the young Australian seeks to ground her foe... The big man out of Wyoming has his eyes on a rising star in Kellaron Sentarl... and as Kellaron seeks to find his breakout moment, Nathan will be there looking to shut down anyone who stands in his way. Haines is surely a tournament favorite early on with his raw power, but it's hard to tell how this match may play out... The other half of the Limbtakers vs. high-flyers this week, RNA steps into the ring with the Lightning Luchadora, as La Relampaga looks to get a big win for herself, as one of Showdown's newest additions. RNA, however, much like Candace, will seek to keep this match firmly on the ground. Michelle Rochefort and Revon Beauregard continue to impress as a team week after week... and they've found themselves in deep conflict with the Sentarl-Heyward alliance. This week, it's Eri and Listalva looking to topple the French duo, and no doubt it's going to be a serious test of both teams. Last week, Firehawk Sentarl took on Kanjirin Tonorian, and fell in defeat. This week, he takes on the other half of Pure Gold, and another member of Shiana Sentarl's group... now going by the name "Vindication". Mallory Spaulding is itching to get a big win over the boss, but could Firehawk bounce back from his defeat and take down the undisputed suplex master of Phoenix Rising? Capping off a huge night, we've got the Pacific Northwest Championship on the line as always... and Telan Kintelas, fresh off of only the second successful defense in months, again seeks to defend his newly-won title against none other than Anari Lynn Heyward, who has already held the title once before. Anari's going to be determined to pull this one off... but Telan was a dangerous beast in his first defense. Could he be the man to break the title's curse?

On Digital Dave Doolittle's Ring Beholder Supplemental: Digital Dave Doolittle: Yes, I do feel the need to come out and say it. I gave a hundo to a match with a manager. Yes, I know, my stated doctrine is that seconds at ringside only muck up the match. They don't bring anything of value. They detract from the viewing experience and I feel they always damage the overall rating of any match they pollute. But tonight, I made an exception to the rule. The match between Les Beautes Blondes and what my social media followers have been calling the team of Heytarls was not just good, it was good because Elise Pichon was a part of it. Unlike most blunderers at ringside, she knows her stuff, she's been in that ring enough and has enough synergy with her team that it works. At least, it worked tonight, and I'm sticking to that as my call. That match was a hundo, and yes, it was a hundo with Elise at ringside.

Strap in, it was kind of a long one tonight, and oddly it had nothing to do with the extra pre-show tournament matches. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/727813462Youtube: youtu.be/FCT5DkPMfF4Quick Results Kyle Anderson def. El Evergringo Mercy Devine def. Nicole Blade
Silver Hawk def. Todd Colton Urani Whitemist def. Yuki Maeda Les Beautes Blondes (Angel/Celine) def. Blake Dynamite and Mascara Avispa Layla Al-Amin def. Candace Monroe Nathan Haines def. Kellaron Sentarl La Relampaga def. Ruthless Nicole Alger Les Beautes Blondes (Revon/Michelle) def. Eri Sentarl and Listalva Anne Heyward Mallory Spaulding def. Firehawk Sentarl Anari Lynn Heyward def. Telan Kintelas to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion Write-ups Things got off to a wild start, with Kyle Anderson more than setting the tone for the night. He absolutely ran roughshod over Evergringo here, sending the Evergreen star packing in short order and setting up a clash with Todd Colton in the first proper round of the tournament. Mercy Devine fared much better... both from her ill-fated match with Sabrina last Thursday, and from her fellow Evergreen wrestler in El Evergringo. Though Nicole Blade brought a tremendous level of power to this match, Mercy pushed through, made the powerhouse from Maine bleed badly, and put her away with the return of her signature modified tombstone piledriver. As we shifted gears to the main card, Silver Hawk put on one hell of a show to kick things off, staying a step ahead of Todd Colton and handing him a defeat ahead of his appearance in the tournament. Not exactly the way Todd hoped his night would go... Yuki Maeda really did put all she had behind this one, standing up to Urani Whitemist from bell to bell. It just wasn't enough to stop the Titan, who was a truly dominant force throughout the match, eventually crushing Yuki in her grasp, a crushing bearhug to pick up the win. This was a good night for the Blondes, who started their night by riding on Elise Pichon's interference. There was simply no way around it: every time Blake and Avispa got the upper hand and looked to be taking over, Elise was there to distract the referee, and Angel would finally manage to get the submission win with the Figure Eight after some close calls. Also a good night for the high-flyers tonight, as Layla kicked off the night with a signature victory, simply outclassing Candace with her overwhelming agility, and never letting the young Australian bring her full submission game to bear. Nathan Haines is, without a doubt, one of the most dangerous men in Phoenix Rising. It's tough to deny that after this match, though Kellaron gave it his all for the entire match, trying to wear Nathan down. It just wasn't enough, and a brutal powerbomb put Kellaron down for the three. La Relampaga built on her partner's success, and won her match in impressive fashion as well, pulling off a big win over RNA to shut out the Limbtakers on the night. It was simply a night of odd miscommunications and mistakes from Eri and Listalva, mistakes that Michelle and Revon exploited time and time again... along with a little help from Elise, once again. Along with the notoriously difficult Digital Dave giving this a seal of approval, it was a very odd night. It looked like Firehawk had things under control for a while... but then Mallory started to land her shots, and those suplexes began to take their toll. Mallory would finally put this one away with a vicious German suplex, and Vindication would win over Firehawk for the second time in as many matches... Once again, we have a new Pacific Northwest Champion, with Telan going down in his second defense. Still, he didn't go without a fight, and the end of this match was a frenzy of big moves, trying to put the other down... but Anari's huge powerbomb would take the win and the title. Shiana Sentarl "From the way you fought tonight... I hardly need you to say a word, Firehawk. You've rejected my offer. Turned away from the promise of Vindication. I don't want to do this... but I don't seem to have much choice in the matter anymore. If you won't join us, then you'll be crushed beneath us. And that's why, in two weeks, you'll face off against both members of Pure Gold. If you can find yourself a partner... then you're welcome to keep fighting. But I think you've run out of options... and it's time we dealt with this so we can turn our attention to more important matters."

Coming up tomorrow night (Thursday): the proper start of the big-ass tournament that kind of began on Monday night. The first half of the preliminary round rolls on Thursday, while the other half will run Saturday night. From there... I dunno how it'll go, but you can expect the next two Saturdays to have tournament streams as well. (the last Saturday of the month still belongs to the Academy.) Thursday, Night 1
Mercedes Ortega (Connecticut) vs. Carmen Latour (Louisiana)
Asha Nelson (Georgia) vs. Rebecca Andrews (Illinois)
Amanda Skye (Alaska) vs. Iris Coleman (Ohio)
Julian Shepard (California) vs. Ryan Donovan (South Carolina)
Maya Minh Sai (Virginia) vs. Anna Bryant (Idaho)
Emma Travers (North Dakota) vs. Allison Avery (Arkansas)
Concrete Pete (Pennsylvania) vs. Leon Jaskulski (Wisconsin)
Rilantha De Nav (Oregon) vs. Titania (Nevada) Kicking things off for the night, two relative newcomers square off, both with some serious high-flying talent. Mercedes Ortega is steadily putting the pieces together on Proving Ground, while Carmen Latour made a huge impact in her debut recently despite a loss... this one's going to be a high-octane opener. Asha Nelson has a big opportunity in this tournament, as she's one of the few Academy representatives coming along for the ride. Still, this won't be an easy task for the young rookie out of Atlanta... Rebecca Andrews has more than proven to be a threat in Evergreen, and the Chicago-born band member could make a deep run if given half a chance. Amanda Skye hasn't been seen terribly much since her brief appearances in Phoenix Rising, but she's back for her shot in the tournament... unfortunately, she's drawn Iris Coleman as her opponent, and this one's going to be an uphill battle, with Iris being easily one of the toughest newcomers Evergreen's gotten over the past year. Julian Shepard earned the right to be California's representative some time ago, and now he gets his chance to show his stuff against a newcomer... South Carolina's Ryan Donovan. We've seen a glimpse of what Donovan can do before, but this will be an interesting clash, without a doubt. Maya Minh Sai, Vietnamese-American out of Virginia, has been seeing a bit of hype for her debut here in the tournament... we don't know much about her yet, but she's drawn one of the best prospects in Phoenix Rising, as Boise's Anna Bryant seeks to prove herself on an even bigger stage. Emma Travers is currently in the midst of some major success in the Blackwood Academy... her second reign as Academy tag team champions alongside Diosa Syringa has taken the referee and doctor to new heights. But she's got maybe the single toughest match of her career coming up here... the Lariat Queen of Little Rock, Allison Avery, has made a habit of absolutely crushing anyone who gets in her way... Concrete Pete is here to represent his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the rest of the field may have to watch their step around the big man... still, he's stepping into the ring across from a newcomer, Polish-American Leon Jaskulski, who is rumored to have some serious power behind him. Capping off the night is a match that could easily headline a Proving Ground if given the chance... veteran versus up-and-comer, technique versus power, as Rilantha De Nav has a chance to represent her home of Portland, Oregon, squaring off with Nevada's Titania. This will be a fight to the finish, without a doubt. Saturday, Night 2
Laura Tate (South Dakota) vs. Freya O'Malley (Vermont)
Harley Brooks (Indiana) vs. Heather Wild (Rhode Island)
Telan Kintelas (New York) vs. Riccardo De Luca (New Hampshire)
Lily Lyons (Delaware) vs. Jessika Boom (Arizona)
Elly Blackwood (Missouri) vs. Riley Montgomery (West Virginia)
Ian Robinson (Mississippi) vs. Colt Whitfield (Kansas)
Mason Hayes (Alabama) vs. Dominic Stanton (Kentucky)
Kevin Royce (Montana) vs. Jackson Shaw (Tennessee) Saturday night will see plenty of debuts, and the night will kick off with two women that are sure to make this match an absolute brawl to the finish. Laura Tate has already gained the moniker of the "Rapid City Ravager", a serious powerhouse that will make things very hard on the Irish-American Freya... Laura, young and raw as she is, could easily be a dark horse to take the whole tournament if given half a chance. Heather Wild may very well be completely outmatched in her first match of the tournament... it's hard to tell, as Harley Brooks is a newcomer himself. Make no mistake, though, the size difference between these two will certainly be a factor, as Harley is exceptionally tall and a dangerous opponent to face... Telan Kintelas, fresh off dropping the Pacific Northwest Championship, will get a chance to vent his frustrations over losing to Anari Lynn Heyward as he takes on another newcomer in Riccardo De Luca. The Italian-American is a serious high-flyer, though, and Phoenix Rising is hoping he'll be an exceptional talent going forward. Lily Lyons may not specialize in any one style, but she's already gaining a reputation as a solid all-rounder... contrasting her with the intense agility that Jessika Boom brings to the fold. If there's one thing Lily will have to watch out for, though, it's Jessika's multitude of cutter variations... and her surprisingly devastating moonsault. Riley Montgomery has her work cut out for her. Not only does she have to face off against one of the toughest wrestlers in the entire Phoenix Rising organization, she's drawn this opponent in her debut match... but from what little we know of Riley, she'll certainly welcome the challenge. Two big men clash in this one, with Ian Robinson having some experience as a football star before coming here, and Colt favoring basketball... one would expect Ian to be the stronger of the two without question, but there's no telling what Whitfield might have up his sleeve. What we know about Mason Hayes is that he's a big man that could potentially give Concrete Pete a run for his money, fully willing to smash against anyone that gets in his way. What we know about Dominic Stanton, meanwhile, is that he's an absolutely no-nonsense brawler... discovered by Lance Marshall himself, and already has the Texan's seal of approval. High praise... Capping off the night of debuts, we've got the match that has the most potential to turn into a one-sided brutalizing. Kevin Royce, now representing his home state of Montana, welcomes Jackson Shaw into the fold in the only way he knows how... with violence. At the end of the night, Jackson could either make a huge name for himself, or be crushed as simply another victim of the hardcore legend that is Kevin Royce. His only saving grace: Kevin will be only one night removed from what will surely be an even more violent brawl with the Bath Salts Zombie in PEWA...

We're through the first full night of the tournament, and it was a wild one, no doubt about it. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/730807885Youtube: youtu.be/cwNqpfYU6LgQuick Results Mercedes Ortega def. Carmen Latour Rebecca Andrews def. Asha Nelson Iris Coleman def. Amanda Skye Ryan Donovan def. Julian Shepard Maya Minh Sai def. Anna Bryant Allison Avery def. Emma Travers Concrete Pete def. Leon Jaskulski Rilantha De Nav def. Titania
Bonuses: Dominic Stanton def. Markos Andreas Riley Montgomery def. Freya O'Malley Write-ups Mercedes Ortega kicked off the night in style, and made it clear that she's pushing past her rough patch on Proving Ground, with her sights set on tournament glory here. Carmen Latour kept up well, but couldn't quite fight her way out of the quick flash pin, sending Mercedes onward to face Sabrina... As outmatched as the rookie was on paper, Asha Nelson held out pretty well against Rebecca Andrews here, though the outcome still seemed inevitable, despite Asha managing to slip into an Ankle Lock at one point. But a big-time Frog Splash put this one away, and Rebecca's through to the first round, where she'll meet a familiar face... With the crowd behind Amanda Skye in this one, she truly gave it her all. But against the Wrecking Ball from Evergreen, it just wasn't enough, and Iris Coleman delivered a crushing STO into a brutal lariat, laying the Alaskan out and pushing herself through to face off with perhaps one of the most dangerous opponents in the entire tournament... Kantar. Julian Shepard earned this tournament spot some time ago when he beat Veronika Armstrong... and now, perhaps, he wishes he'd let her have it. Ryan Donovan was out to crush his opponent tonight, and he did exactly that, wiping out Julian in the biggest squash of the night. His path doesn't seem to be getting much tougher, either, with Kasey Ryder as his next opponent... Is it possible to call this an upset? Maya Minh Sai came into this one as a near-unknown... but the Vietnamese-American out of Virginia was maybe the best pure performer of the night here, matching Anna Bryant move-for-move, and eventually working Anna's arms over enough to land a crushing facebuster, and picked up a stunning victory over the rising star. This was a highlight of the night, and probably the best tournament match so far. This wasn't quite as one-sided as the timer would indicate, but Allison Avery was rarely in danger here, hitting an early Little Rock Bottom... and later, taking one from Emma stealing the move! But a huge powerbomb put this one away in a hurry, and the Lariat Queen coasted to the first round, primed for a clash with Mercy Devine. Leon Jaskulski was impressive here in his debut... but Concrete Pete was an absolute beast, the likes of which we've slowly come to see more and more as he builds his legacy in Evergreen. And although Leon showed some fire, taking the fight to the ground, Pete proved he's not quite helpless in the mount... and reminded Leon that his skull may very well be where he draws his name from, smashing Leon with repeated headbutts until he surrendered. The final match of the bracket for the night saw the veteran's technique against the relative newcomer's raw power... and Ril was absolutely not going to be outdone tonight, not with so much on the line. Titania was a monster in this one, but Ril was just a step ahead, pushing through everything to lock in the Anaconda Vice, and pulled off a much-needed victory. We got a look at some of the other newcomers in a pair of bonus matches... and Dominic Stanton from Kentucky got the first look against Markos Andreas. And what a first look it was, as Stanton was just a brutal force in the ring, eventually crushing Markos with a brutal backbreaker, and picking up a surprisingly dominant victory. The other bonus match was the polar opposite of the first. Riley Montgomery from West Virginia, and Freya O'Malley from Vermont, squared off in what wound up being one of the most incredibly brutal brawls that a Phoenix Rising ring has ever witnessed. You'd believe these two hated each other with a burning passion, as they threw everything at each other... brawled on the outside, fought for nearly a full thirty minutes and finally brought things to an end when Riley managed to hit a diving leg drop, picking up the win... but no doubt, these two are going to meet again somewhere, and whatever fed it happens in may need to take some serious precautions. We'll be back on Saturday for the rest of the preliminary round... and I'll try to have a Proving Ground card up soon, as well.

I'll admit it up front, I had somewhat low expectations for tonight, with all the new edits, wondering how they'd perform on a live stream, worrying that they'd go out and make this one a trainwreck. How very, very WRONG I was. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/732855615Youtube: Quick Results Freya O'Malley def. Laura Tate Harley Brooks def. Heather Wild Riccardo De Luca def. Telan Kintelas Lily Lyons def. Jessika Boom Elly Blackwood def. Riley Montgomery Ian Robinson def. Colt Whitfield Mason Hayes def. Dominic Stanton Jackson Shaw def. Kevin Royce
Bonus matches: Carmen Latour def. Maya Minh Sai Nathan Haines def. Leon Jaskulski Write-ups Freya O'Malley made a huge impact Thursday night, stealing the show in a bonus contest that saw her and Riley Montgomery go absolutely wild on each other. And tonight, she just piled on even more reasons to keep an eye on her. She took the fight to South Dakota's Laura Tate, ignored the huge size difference between them, absolutely brawled with Tate from start to finish, and in the end... you can call her Giantslayer, because she came away with the win after a huge Shooting Star Press. Heather Wild was flat-out outmatched here, there was simply no doubt about that. But she didn't let that stop her from giving Harley Brooks a fight, and she very nearly won this one, as well, scoring back-to-back nearfalls off a float-over DDT, then her double-arm DDT... only to be planted firmly on her head by Harley moments later, putting the aspiring rockstar down for the count. Riccardo De Luca turned this match into a sprint. It's entirely possible that we've never seen anyone with his level of speed and agility in Phoenix Rising... he's intense, he's wild, he pushed through Telan's powerful offense and scored the win with an incredible poison rana, and made sure that everyone will have to take notice of him going forward. Lily Lyons came with a mission, and she damn well pulled that off... another newcomer, another win, as Lily was just a relentless machine in this match, laying into Jessika Boom any chance she got. But the highlight of her offense came at the very end... after a frenzy of strikes, she lined up and delivered an incredible spinning kick that seemed to knock Jessika for a loop, and gave the Delaware rep the victory. Nobody imagined that Riley Montgomery could possibly take down the most dangerous woman in Evergreen. Elly Blackwood has a history of being nearly impossible to stop except by the toughest and best in the world. That didn't stop Riley from giving this match everything she had, though, and she might've done it, too, with her vicious brand of offense, looking like she might beat Elly with the Liontamer. But Elly's familiar Stretch Bomb won the day, and the Invincible from St. Louis escapes with the win. Colt Whitfield is a raw, untested talent... so there wasn't a lot expected of him here against Ian Robinson. But he more than exceeded that, making this one a fight to the finish that didn't let up until Ian landed a crushing Dominator, following it up with a colossal powerbomb to put Colt away. We'd already seen Dominic Stanton on Thursday night as he dismantled Markos Andreas. Mason Hayes, however, proved to be a much tougher nut to crack. The big man out of Alabama just would not stay down... and late in the match, after being busted open by the Kentucky brawler, Mason seemed to turn up the pressure, looking for something on the ground... and he sure as hell got it, stomping Dominic down before locking in a truly brutal half-crab to force the submission. Jackson Shaw was a man that simply should not have stood a chance against a hardcore legend. He's strong, sure. Tough as hell. But against Kevin Royce, it seemed improbable that he'd actually hold out against the Evergreen founder. And yet, after taking one hell of a beating and just refusing to go down, a Dominator would be the winning move for the second match of the night, giving Jackson the most incredible upset of the tournament so far. In case you thought Carmen was just a flashy young jobber, this should ease your mind... she was a real dynamo in this one, and though Maya was doing well for herself, Carmen surprisingly trapped her in a submission to get a shocking win. She may not be in the tournament anymore, but it seems like we saw her on a bad day before. I don't think Nathan wanted to be here tonight. This was just flat-out brutal... Leon tried to get something going, but Nathan was absolutely monstrous here, clearly more than ready to face off with Rilantha De Nav in the first round. We've got a bit of a double-header coming up on Monday... Proving Ground, followed by a Wrestle Parade production that has implications for Phoenix Rising as well! It's gonna be one hell of a night... Akira Ryusaki vs. Sanya Markov
Naoko Yoshida vs. Sung Moon The Golden Ambush vs. The Rising Storm Anna Bryant vs. SATOMI Nick MacLeod vs. HAYATO Mercedes Ortega vs. Rin Ryusaki The Muscle Machines vs. The Gallego Twins Donna Nobel vs. Fresh Suzuki for the Inspire Championship Kicking off the night, we have Sanya Markov, fresh off of failing to capture the Top Prospect Championship... and he can't be happy about that. He'll aim to vent his frustrations on Akira Ryusaki, who isn't likely to simply roll over for him... Naoko Yoshida makes a rare singles appearance this week, though no doubt she'll have Shiori at ringside for this one as she takes on Sung Moon. Moon has been fairly quiet as of late, but make no mistake, she's still one of the best around on Proving Ground, and Naoko will need to stay sharp against her. The Rising Storm looks to get themselves back on track... taking on the team that were champions for months until La Familia came along. The Tigers, meanwhile, will be looking to fight their way back into contention... though it won't be easy against the most experienced team in Phoenix Rising. Anna Bryant has been on a roll. Despite not winning the battle royal for Inspire contendership, she's still on a hot streak, and now she faces her toughest challenge yet... SATOMI, one-on-one. Can she hold out against one of the division's top talents? HAYATO, meanwhile, has some serious work ahead of him with Nick MacLeod... the powerhouse Scot has made it clear that he's beyond dangerous, willing to break anyone and everyone in half if they get in his way. HAYATO, however, is a truly accomplished striker on top of his other talents, and could give Nick a solid run for his money. Mercedes Ortega comes back to Proving Ground after a preliminary round victory in the tournament, having beaten newcomer Carmen Latour... and now, she turns to another high-flyer in Rin Ryusaki, who seeks to stay sharp while her tag partner defends the Inspire Championship. This might be a defacto contenders match to see who takes on La Familia. The Gallego Twins have been maybe the toughest team to beat since their debut on Proving Ground... while the Muscle Machines are on maybe the best run of their careers, with all the potential in the world. This could be the breakout chance for either team... And finally, capping off the slightly shortened night, we'll see the Inspire Championship on the line, as Donna Nobel, having won the battle royal last episode, seeks to topple Fresh Suzuki in her first defense. Can Donna finally reach the top of the mountain after so much struggle, or will Fresh turn her away once more? And one more note: here's a quick look at what you'll be seeing, as Wrestle Parade holds a tournament (along with some extra matches!) to decide who will be their entrant into this year's Grand Ascension... yes, indeed, we're doing it again! Opening Contest Harley Sparx vs Galaxy Girl

A quick show tonight, helping us move along into Wrestle Parade, where we'll discover who gets into the Grand Ascension next month. I'll be revealing Block A tomorrow, and Block B on Friday, which is when both will have been fully determined. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/734801151Youtube: youtu.be/neCkeJbJJXsQuick Results Akira Ryusaki def. Sanya Markov Naoko Yoshida def. Sung Moon The Golden Ambush def. The Rising Storm Anna Bryant def. SATOMI HAYATO def. Nick MacLeod Rin Ryusaki def. Mercedes Ortega The Muscle Machines def. The Gallego Twins to become #1 contenders for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships Fresh Suzuki def. Donna Nobel to retain the Inspire Championship Write-ups Sanya seemed to have this one well in hand, right up until he busted Akira open... and from there, it shockingly turned back to Akira's favor, as he seemed to get a huge surge of spirit and took the fight to Sanya with a ferocity we've rarely seen from him, picking up the surprising win with a Slingblade. You'd hardly believe that Naoko rarely fights singles matches, with how she handled this one. Although she had trouble landing some of her more dangerous moves, she didn't let it get to her as she weathered Sung Moon's attack, kicking out of a Book End... and from there, she was in charge, hitting a Tequila Sunrise to pick up the resounding victory. All four of these wrestlers are dangerous in their own way... but it seems like none are more dangerous out there than Golden Tiger, and he made sure the world knew it, locking in a Stretch Muffler at one point, and eventually driving Anahera down on her head with a brutal Tigerdriver. Who on earth can stop Anna Bryant? The change of scenery has been more than good to the young rookie... she's been nigh-unstoppable since making the jump, her only defeat so far coming in the battle royal. And here, she was simply at her best against SATOMI, wiping out one of Proving Ground's toughest without a hint of trouble. HAYATO fared considerably better than his sister tonight, taking the fight to Nick MacLeod and simply refusing to give an inch to the Scotsman. While the HAYATO Driver proved less effective than the always-devastating SATOMI Driver, a Shining Wizard out of the corner did more than enough to give HAYATO the victory. This was a very, very good night for the Ryusaki siblings, and thus, Winter Fresh. Rin was just too much for Mercedes here, making it clear that Rin is steadily becoming one of Proving Ground's veteran talents, and Mercedes, being the newcomer, still has a fair bit of work ahead of her. It's hard to believe... but the Muscle Machines have come this far. Once again, they managed to work together, and this time, they managed to overcome one of the teams that's best known for working well together. Could the Muscle Machines knock off La Familia when they clash for the titles? There is simply no denying that Fresh Suzuki has hit a new stage of her career. No longer the newcomer, she's the Inspire Champion, and she took the fight to Donna Nobel right from the start, enduring all that Donna had to throw her way, and eventually caught her in a quick flash pin to defend her title. It's going to be tough to knock off the new champ... that much is very, very clear. Coming up this week: Evergreen episode 37 on Thursday, followed immediately by Night One of the tournament's first round. Saturday will see an Academy house show posted, and the second half of the first round later that night. In addition, the Grand Ascension blocks will be finalized this week, and posted on Tuesday and Friday. It's gonna be a busy week, lemme tell ya.

All right, we've got a lot to announce here. So let's take it from the top... starting off with the participants in Block A of this year's Grand Ascension. Eri SentarlAngel LeblancVictor KintelasFresh SuzukiHAYATOStrawberry SookieConcrete PeteEmelia "Air" HartThese eight have all more than proven themselves capable of running at the highest level... and it could be the breakout moment for any of them. The Grand Ascension will start next month, full schedule to be determined soon. Next up, we take a look at Thursday's abbreviated Evergreen card... because we've got a hell of a double-header to run.
Jennifer Hunter vs. Andrea Hawke
Kevin Royce vs. Binak Tonorian The Bingo Hall Mutants vs. Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox Elly Blackwood vs. Veronika Armstrong Kantar vs. Argent vs. Eddy Introspect for a spot in the Grand Ascension Mercy Devine vs. The Phantom Thief Sabrina vs. Strawberry Sookie for the Evergreen ChampionshipKicking things off this week, Jennifer Hunter continues her path through the Evergreen roster, aiming for the top... but Andrea Hawke has remained one of the more dangerous members of the roster herself, and won't make life easy on the brawler from Boston, especially ahead of her tournament appearance on Saturday. A clash of titans... veteran talents squaring off in a match that could shake Evergreen to its very core. It's an absolutely enormous matchup... and Binak may be looking to topple Royce here, after the Montana native suffered a shocking defeat last Saturday to Jackson Shaw in the tournament. Could Kevin still be shaken from that loss? There's no better way to test a newly-arrived team than by putting them in the ring with the baddest duo in hardcore wrestling. PEWA's #1 contenders are back in Evergreen, and the young team of Kelly and Victoria are next in their sights... it could be a real rough night. It seems that Elly Blackwood is back on the warpath, looking for the shot at the Evergreen Championship once again. Previous attempts have been pushed off for various reasons... but it appears that Elly's not going to let anything stand in her way this time, not even Veronika Armstrong, who seeks another shot of her own... One of the big reasons we're here on Thursday... this three-way will determine the last participant in Block B for the Grand Ascension. And while many would write this off as an obvious win for Kantar, or perhaps Argent, do not count out Eddy Introspect here... as strange and clumsy as he is, he's proven to be a crafty, dangerous opponent for anyone and everyone in Evergreen, capturing the Evergreen Tag Team Championships twice and handing out upsets on a whim. We've known this match was coming for a long time... Mercy Devine has some serious bad blood with the man who put her out of action and changed her very being. Now, she'll clash with the Phantom Thief... in his first appearance since that incident, and one has to believe that this could very well be one of the most vicious, violent matches Evergreen ever bears witness to. Who would've guessed this would happen? Sabrina has taken Evergreen by storm, rarely stumbling even a little bit, and now she sets her sights on the top prize of the fed... the Evergreen Championship. But does she really have what it takes to dethrone Strawberry Sookie at the top? Can she really be the one that finally ends the seemingly-unstoppable reign of eMo? And immediately following Evergreen on Thursday... we move across the way back to the Showdown arena for more tournament action. With so many Evergreen stars still in the bracket, things had to be broken up in a particular way...
Lexi Dawson (Iowa) vs. Lily Lyons (Delaware)
Kasey Ryder (Florida) vs. Ryan Donovan (South Carolina)
Rachel White (Michigan) vs. Riccardo De Luca (New Hampshire)
Nathan Haines (Wyoming) vs. Rilantha De Nav (Oregon)
Mallory Spaulding (Colorado) vs. Ian Robinson (Mississippi)
Todd Colton (North Carolina) vs. Kyle Anderson (Maryland)
Lance Marshall (Texas) vs. Freya O'Malley (Vermont)
Firehawk Sentarl (Washington) vs. Mason Hayes (Alabama)I'll forgo match preview write-ups for this card since this is already getting exceedingly long, so let's just fast-forward a couple of days. Saturday will see its own "double-header" with an Academy house show, followed by the other half of the tournament's first round, bringing the field down to 16. Sabrina (New Jersey) vs. Mercedes Ortega (Connecticut)
Concrete Pete (Pennsylvania) vs. Rebecca Andrews (Illinois)
Kantar (Minnesota) vs. Iris Coleman (Ohio)
Allison Avery (Arkansas) vs. Mercy Devine (Hawaii)
Arthur Wright (Utah) vs. Elly Blackwood (Missouri)
Natasha Clover (New Mexico) vs. Jackson Shaw (Tennessee)
Jennifer Hunter (Massachusetts) vs. Maya Minh Sai (Virginia)
Urani Whitemist (Oklahoma) vs. Harley Brooks (Indiana)We have a whole lot of action this week, and it really won't be letting up any time soon... let's hope I can get through it all. :P

What a night. It was seriously a wild one, what with both Evergreen and the tournament running, and we've got a lot to get through as a result. Evergreen Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/737666112Evergreen Youtube: youtu.be/SVji0i6XIQ0Tournament Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/737667276Tournament Youtube: youtu.be/zqDXbc_QuWYQuick Results (for both shows) Andrea Hawke def. Jennifer Hunter Kevin Royce def. Binak Tonorian Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe def. The Bingo Hall Mutants Elly Blackwood def. Veronika Armstrong Eddy Introspect def. Kantar and Argent to enter the Grand Ascension Mercy Devine def. The Phantom Thief Strawberry Sookie def. Sabrina to retain the Evergreen Championship
Lexi Dawson def. Lily Lyons Kasey Ryder def. Ryan Donovan Riccardo de Luca def. Rachel White Nathan Haines def. Rilantha De Nav Mallory Spaulding def. Ian Robinson Todd Colton def. Kyle Anderson Freya O'Malley def. Lance Marshall Firehawk Sentarl def. Mason Hayes Write-ups (Evergreen) Andrea was at her best tonight, on a night that seemed to favor a very certain set of people. Jennifer fought through what she could, but Andrea was relentless, and capped off this match with a stiff brainbuster to pick up the win. Jennifer will have to be better than she was tonight on Saturday, when she takes on Maya Minh Sai in the tournament. Despite an early tournament exit, Kevin Royce is still a hardcore legend, and never has that been more apparent than here. Even the giant that is Binak Tonorian couldn't take him down... the Iron Claw getting the job done for the founder and PEWA Extreme Champion. It's something of a rite of passage at this point: any team that wants to prove itself in Evergreen has to step into the ring with PEWA's Bingo Hall Mutants, who are as much a part of Evergreen as anyone else. What most of those teams don't do, however, is beat the legendary duo out of Philly. Don't tell that to Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe, though... they came out with one goal in mind: to take down the Mutants by any means necessary. And although they took a hell of a beating to get there, they damn well pulled it off... did what only a handful of teams over the past couple years have managed, and WON against the former champions with some truly incredible teamwork. This was, flat-out, a fight to the finish, and probably one of the biggest highlights of the night. Two of Evergreen's best clashed, and Veronika Armstrong gave everything she had to try and bring down the Invincible... but Elly would simply not be denied, pushing through until she managed to land her crushing Stretch Bomb to score the win. Never deny Eddy Introspect's craftiness in the ring. If he sees an opportunity, he will seize it... and he did exactly that here, seizing the initiative on Kantar, then Argent, forcing both to submit to his facelock and earning his spot in the Grand Ascension. Before this match, Mercy said something to the effect of "I'm going to show you the monster you've created". We'd find out what she meant by that... the old, violent Mercy was very present in this match, forcing the Thief to bleed early, but we also caught flashes of the technique she'd shown as Kiana Yamazaki... the ultra-violent Mercy is now capable of both styles, and she made sure the world knew it with a quick, technical pin to get the victory. Not even Sabrina could stop the long-time champion. Despite throwing her best at Sookie, it just wasn't enough... and Sabrina was handed only her second defeat in her Evergreen career, leaving Sookie firmly on top of the Evergreen mountain. What will Mercy do now? Write-ups (Tournament) After a brief moment of downtime to shift over to the tournament venue, we got going with the second show of the night... and Lexi Dawson kicked this one off big. With Lily Lyons aiming to, quite literally, kick Lexi around the ring, the Academy rookie would fight back time and time again, using her superior agility to get back into the fight... and she'd eventually land a shooting star press on the run to score a huge victory! This was a hell of a night for the Academy, as Kasey Ryder, totally outmatched on paper, simply refused to give an inch to Ryan Donovan, who had absolutely wiped the floor with Julian Shepard in his previous match. Kasey, though, wasn't a pushover in the slightest... dishing out everything she had to offer, before finally leaping off the top with a diving double stomp, and scoring maybe the biggest win of her young career. Riccardo De Luca just continues to impress. This was another display of his incredible agility and speed, and Rachel White just couldn't keep up... a 450 Splash put an early end to this one, and Riccardo looks like an early favorite to win it all. This was the very definition of power vs. technique once again... and power wound up winning out in the end, despite Ril's efforts. And what efforts they were... with Ril throwing her arsenal at Nathan, even breaking out his own powerbomb to try and put him down... only for the big man from Wyoming to kick out, and fire back with the very same powerbomb on her, putting her down for the count. In terms of match length, this one was the big one across both shows. Mallory and Ian flat-out went to war with each other, two powerhouses that just would not give an inch... but Mallory's brutal suplexes, as they so often do, finally wore Ian down, and Mallory walked away with another impressive win to her name. We've seen this match before, and it never disappoints. How could it, with two of the best Phoenix Rising has to offer? Both got their shots in here, but Todd was unusually focused on his armwork today... still, it was a moonsault that finally scored the win for the brash young star out of North Carolina, and Todd's one step closer to the big prize. If you're looking for shock value, look no further. Freya O'Malley has made herself an instant star in just three matches. Her brawl with Riley Montgomery, her incredible victory over Laura Tate, and now... her total domination over Lance Marshall, a tournament favorite. It's hard to believe, but Freya has become the crowd's favorite in the tournament, and there's already rumblings that she's being signed to a Showdown contract to start immediately following the Grand Ascension. Firehawk Sentarl was a man on a mission tonight. Mason Hayes was nowhere near prepared for the onslaught leveled against him... he had to deal with nearly every single signature move in Firehawk's arsenal, clear up until Firehawk hit the Phoenix Dive for a resounding victory, one that he very badly needed after things have gone so badly on Showdown... Mercy Devine "Let me lay this out for you, Thief. Months ago, when you took me out, changed me, forced me to try and follow what you wanted... it worked, for a little while. But you had to know I was coming back. That Mercy Fucking Devine was going to make her way back out again, before long. And see... you made a real big mistake. You gave me an entirely new set of weapons... let me tap into a style that I thought I'd never be able to learn. You didn't remove me as a threat, Thief... you only made me more dangerous. I'm better than ever, and it's all thanks to you... so I'll give you the gift of not kicking your ass out of here for good. You can stay, for now. But if you ever... EVER dream of crossing me again... I'll make sure you leave Evergreen a shell of the man you once were."

We've got a quick announcement to mention after last night's Evergreen show, that decided the last participant in the Grand Ascension's Block B. We're looking at these eight names: Urani Whitemist Todd Colton Kyle Anderson Sanya Markov Titania Eddy Introspect Veronika Armstrong Roland Chang IIIIt's a dangerous block, to be sure, with nobody even close to being a pushover. Any one of these eight could easily take the block, but only one can do it... and there are, of course, some unknown quantities. TIPWF's Roland Chang III comes for his first big shot, while everyone else is no stranger to being at or near the top of their respective divisions, no matter where they might be from...
The blocks are set, and the Grand Ascension is ready to get under way as soon as October arrives.

We've closed out round one of the tournament, and we're down to just sixteen names. But who will take the tournament? Who will earn their shot at the World Championship when the dust has settled? Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/739644220Youtube: youtu.be/RxSQrU5artAQuick Results Mercedes Ortega def. Sabrina Concrete Pete def. Rebecca Andrews Kantar def. Iris Coleman Mercy Devine def. Allison Avery Elly Blackwood def. Arthur Wright Jackson Shaw def. Natasha Clover Maya Minh Sai def. Jennifer Hunter Urani Whitemist def. Harley Brooks
Bonuses
Laura Tate def. Titania Terra Marshall def. Riley Montgomery Write-ups Hard to deny at this point... Mercedes Ortega has really come into her own during this tournament, and never was that clearer than here against Sabrina, as she took down the Evergreen star, perhaps still reeling from her defeat at the hands of Strawberry Sookie two days ago. Can Sabrina get herself back on track when Evergreen returns? This match was all Pete, with Rebecca Andrews simply not able to get anything rolling against the big man. Pete goes on, and looks like a potential favorite to win it all, but the field is looking tougher than ever by now... Iris did what she could against Kantar, but Evergreen's resident monster just would not be denied here, tearing through the relative rookie and ensuring that the round of 16 is going to be a fierce one. Mercy Devine has her eyes on the prize... and Allison Avery wasn't going to stop her. Allison couldn't get her lariats rolling, which played a big factor here... but it didn't help that Mercy was locked in, hitting multiple Devine Interventions, a tombstone, and finally putting Allison away with a quick low blow into a roll-up... what has the Thief done, giving her this flash-pin ability? Arthur gave this one a hell of a shot, even managing to land the Screwdriver... but Elly, true to her name, refused to quit, kicking out and firing right back with the Stretch Bomb to pick up a hard-fought victory. For all the fight Natasha had in her, for all the times she kicked Jackson in the groin (and hoo boy did she ever), Jackson Shaw is quickly cementing himself as a dark horse to win it all. Natasha endured the Stretch Plum for as long as she could, but ultimately, had no choice but to tap out. Probably the best match of the night on a night that wasn't exactly workrate central, Maya Minh Sai enacted her gameplan to perfection here, and although Jennifer Hunter was able to lock in her own submission a few times, Maya would ultimately fight back with the Lotus Lock, and forced Jennifer to give in. This was an all-out fight to the finish between two of the biggest wrestlers still in the mix, and Urani Whitemist simply wouldn't let Harley Brooks walk away with a win. She was relentless, looking every bit the World Champion she was over a year ago, and after an Ushi-goroshi into the familiar elbow drop, Urani's looking like the woman to beat. We didn't get to see all that Laura Tate was capable of in her tournament match when she got simply outplayed by Freya O'Malley. This was not the same story, as she came out against Titania on a mission, and despite getting busted open early on, she was a rampaging beast against one of Proving Ground's toughest and strongest, eventually crushing Titania with a top rope chokeslam. We weren't quite sure what to expect when it was announced Riley Montgomery would close the show against a debuting wrestler. I don't think anyone expected a third member of the MARSHALL family to arrive, but that's exactly what we got, the cocky, confident Terra Marshall showing her stuff... and she was a wrecking ball, eventually crushing Riley with back-to-back lariats that about turned the West Virginian inside-out. A statement's been made... look out, world, the youngest Marshall has arrived. We've got Showdown coming up on Monday, and it's gonna be capped off by a huge match... as Shiana, leading Vindication, finally sends both members of Pure Gold after Firehawk at the same time. Silver Hawk vs. Kyle Anderson
Candace Monroe vs. Sophia Moretti
Victor Kintelas vs. Markos Andreas
Angel Leblanc and Celine Chevalier vs. Layla Al-Amin and La Relampaga
Kellaron Sentarl vs. Alexandria Kirison
Revon Beauregard vs. Kaelara Sentarl
Michelle Rochefort vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Pure Gold vs. Firehawk SentarlI'm gonna go ahead and skip the preview write-ups here as well, it's been a long day, but we've got a lot of action coming up... Les Beautes Blondes with a lot of presence on this one, continuing their fight against the Sentarl-Heyward alliance, and others trying to move up the rankings. But Firehawk Sentarl can't go into this match alone against the most dangerous team in Phoenix Rising, can he? Firehawk Sentarl "The entire group... Shiana, Yuki, Pure Gold... Vindication, probably figures I'm up a creek without a paddle at this point. I can't team up with my wife... she's the one putting me into this situation in the first place. Kellaron, Kae, Eri... all have their own stuff going on that I won't turn them away from. They've got to focus on what's in front of them. Ril's moved to Proving Ground, looking to help the next generation, and won't be crossing back over to here on Showdown.
So what does that leave me with? Vindication, probably figuring I'm screwed, probably thinks I'm gonna go into Monday night alone, and it really will be a handicap match.
But if you know me, and I know you do, Shiana... you know that I'm not going to change my answer to you. I'm not going to turn away from who I am. I don't need vindication. But I can safely tell you one thing.
When I show up for the main event on Monday, I won't be alone in that ring. I've found a partner to stand beside me for this match.
And Pure Gold... you're in for one hell of a shock when you see what you're in for. That's a promise."

We're getting closer to the big stuff here. Next Showdown will have a World Championship match with the winner of the 50-state tournament, and we're coming in hot to the Grand Ascension as well. But tonight... tonight was a wild one. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/741528308Youtube: youtu.be/eImU2L4Mb5gQuick Results Silver Hawk def. Kyle Anderson Sophia Moretti def. Candace Monroe Victor Kintelas def. Markos Andreas Angel Leblanc and Celine Chevalier def. Layla Al-Amin and La Relampaga Kellaron Sentarl def. Alexandria Kirison Revon Beauregard def. Kaelara Sentarl Anari Lynn Heyward def. Michelle Rochefort to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Firehawk Sentarl and KILEAS KINTELAS def. Pure Gold (wtf?!) Write-ups What can you say about this matchup? Two of the best Showdown has to offer, opening up the show, you know you're getting something good. Silver Hawk stayed a step ahead to the very end, and refused to let Kyle shrug off his offense, finally taking flight and snapping off his signature flash pin to get the win. Despite Candace bringing some new tactics into this match, Sophia Moretti was well ahead of her for the duration, countering the mount attempts into a triangle choke that eventually forced Candace to give in, beaten by her own strategy. It's good to be the GOAT, no doubt about that. Victor was in his usual form tonight, dishing out some severe punishment towards Markos Andreas, delivering three Kintelas Drivers but ultimately falling back on the Shotgun to pick up the victory. Don't cross Les Beautes Blondes... that was the message from this match, clearly. Teamwork was at its best from both teams, with Layla and Relampaga quickly coming into their own as a duo, but Angel and Celine are not to be outdone... and they timed out a perfect German from Angel that scored the victory. Alex fared much better than Markos did, but Kellaron was on fire tonight, trading submissions with Alex for a solid twenty minutes before managing to put the Greek down with back-to-back kicks, which seemed almost necessary given how resilient Alex had been the whole match. Solo or not, Revon Beauregard is quickly proving himself with Les Beautes Blondes, a dangerous opponent no matter what match he's in, and although Kaelara tried to fight here, she couldn't bring any of her high-power offense to bear, and eventually was forced to tap out to Revon's brutal submission. We have another Pacific Northwest Championship defense! Anari took the title from Telan in his second defense, and now she's made her first against Michelle Rochefort... bringing her full power to bear and picking up a major victory, one that some would think is near-impossible as of late. Do not adjust your monitor. This match legitimately happened... as Firehawk Sentarl revealed the partner he'd brought in for the match against Pure Gold, none other than the man who's been his greatest rival throughout his entire career, Kileas Kintelas. We haven't seen Kileas in four months... not since his failed attempt at winning the World Championship from the Black Dragon back in May, but he came back tonight and looked like he hasn't lost a step. He even managed to steal the Jackhammer from Kanjirin, but Firehawk's Superkick would seal the victory over Mallory Spaulding, finally giving Firehawk a win over Vindication... and perhaps wiping out any hopes that he might decide to join their ranks. Firehawk's partner from tonight "Everyone's got questions. Everyone wants to know what's going on. Why he came to me, of all people, against them. There were other options, surely. The thing is... Firehawk wanted to win. And I have no doubts that perhaps... Pajaro de Fuego... or Andrea Hawke... or any number of people could've potentially helped him win that match. But none of them guaranteed it. There were no options open to him if he wanted to ensure that Pure Gold lost tonight. No options besides me.
There may perhaps be only two people in the world that know Firehawk Sentarl better than I do, by now. One of them, of course, being his wife... the source of all the trouble, it would seem. And the other... Firehawk himself. But I know his strengths. His weaknesses. How to balance each, if I have to. All these years of fighting against him, I've come to learn every last detail for the sole reason of defeating him, and I've done that more than anyone else in the world.
The questions are already flooding in. I've already seen them. 'What sort of deal did you two strike?' Your answer will have to wait. I have no intention of playing my hand just yet. 'Where have you been for four months?' Contemplating. Wondering if the time was right to follow Winifred into retirement. Considering my options... and resting off old, nagging injuries. I'd not taken a proper leave of absence in some time... and I'd nearly intended for it to be permanent, before his offer... caught my attention.
'Why did you accept it?' That much should be obvious. This... Vindication is one-half veterans who ought to know better, and one-half young upstarts who need to be taught their place. Now that they've spent time against the two most enduring names Phoenix Rising has to offer, they know exactly where they stand. You are strong... Mallory, Kanjirin. But the two of us... have been the best of the best for longer than you understand.
And as for the others of Vindication... Yuki Maeda... and Shiana Sentarl. Firehawk, of course, will not lay a hand on his wife, just as you feel the same towards him. But if you continue to push your luck... I may not be quite so even-handed.
Now, now, don't get me wrong... I have absolutely no intention of beating down Shiana Sentarl myself.
But if you're bold enough, Shiana, then I offer to you a challenge. In two weeks, we hold the final Showdown before the Grand Ascension begins. And on that show, I will offer a challenge... a challenge that you'd be wise to listen to. Because I promise you... your past is coming back to haunt you once again. You've declared war, alongside Vindication... and if that means I have to stand alongside the man I hate more than any other, to reach a common goal...
Then I'm going to make sure that when the dust has cleared... I will win that war."

Tournament round 2 runs tomorrow night, and we'll narrow the field to 8, leading to Saturday's finals night. We're getting close to the finish line here, but there's still a lot left before we crown a winner. Mercedes Ortega (Connecticut) vs. Concrete Pete (Pennsylvania)
Kasey Ryder (Florida) vs. Jackson Shaw (Tennessee)
Lexi Dawson (Iowa) vs. Mercy Devine (Hawaii)
Maya Minh Sai (Virginia) vs. Firehawk Sentarl (Washington)
Todd Colton (North Carolina) vs. Riccardo De Luca (New Hampshire)
Freya O'Malley (Vermont) vs. Kantar (Minnesota)
Elly Blackwood (Missouri) vs. Mallory Spaulding (Colorado)
Nathan Haines (Wyoming) vs. Urani Whitemist (Oklahoma) We've seen plenty of "speed vs. power" matches in the past, but this might be taking it to a new extreme, with Concrete Pete (fresh off a win over Rebecca Andrews) taking on Mercedes Ortega (who's no stranger to Evergreen now after beating Sabrina.) Still, Mercedes will have an uphill battle in the opener, as we've seen Pete's bulk prove a true weapon time and time again.
Kasey Ryder, by all rights, shouldn't even be here. But here she stands, having taken down Ryan Donovan in one of the most shocking upsets of the tournament thus far. Still, she's going up against someone who also scored a major upset... Jackson Shaw, whose path began with a win over Kevin Royce, and he proceeded to also plow through Natasha Clover to get here. Kasey's going to need to focus and be at her best if she wants even an outside chance of winning this... but it may be a matter of time.
Lexi Dawson, as the other remaining Academy representative, has also impressed in her tournament run, with a win over Lily Lyons to get to this point. But she's staring down the boss of Evergreen, the queen of extreme herself, Mercy Devine. This is a tough ask for anyone, least of all a young rookie still a part of the Academy, but we've seen Lexi rise to challenges before...
Speaking of tough asks, Maya Minh Sai might have one of the toughest. She's had a very impressive run thus far with wins over Anna Bryant and Jennifer Hunter, both dangerous and talented wrestlers in their own right. But now, she steps into the ring with Firehawk Sentarl, who's looking for a major win to propel him towards the final. If Maya can pull off a win here, it'd be a huge upset, and a career-making moment.
Todd Colton doesn't give a damn what the people want... unless, of course, the people want more Todd Colton. And while Riccardo De Luca has taken the tournament by storm thus far, Todd's more than prepared to dish out a beating to the high-flyer. If you ask Todd, there's nobody more deserving of winning this tournament than himself... but time will tell if he can back up that claim.
The biggest surprise of the tournament thus far has been Freya O'Malley, without a question. Both of her matches thus far have been against opponents with a huge size advantage over her, and power to spare... but Freya's beaten them both. Laura Tate and Lance Marshall can attest to this much: Kantar will have to watch himself against the Irish-American, because if he lets his guard down for even a second, Freya will blow him away.
We're closing out the card with some huge matchups... enough that you could call these easily co-main events. Elly Blackwood, the Invincible, one of Evergreen's toughest and most dangerous members, will square off with Mallory Spaulding. Mallory, perhaps still reeling from a shocking defeat on Monday at the hands of Firehawk Sentarl and a returning Kileas Kintelas, will look to take down perhaps the most resilient woman in the Phoenix Rising organization outside of the Black Dragon...
And we close out the night with another matchup of pure power. Nathan Haines, who's been an impressive sight from day one, will face his toughest challenge yet as he steps into the ring with the Titan... Urani Whitemist. Haines simply has to be on top of his game here: anything less, and Urani will do what she's done so often, and crush all that's in front of her. But what would it mean for Urani to win the tournament? Would she be willing to challenge her partner, her own wife, for the World Championship? We'll see how it all plays out on Thursday night...
