Ads.

...yeah.

So the Critical Club now has ads (Well, it's been like that for a few weeks), why? Well, this is the biggest problem with Proboards it seems and well it's pretty minor but it's still annoying. I addressed this by making an edit out of the dude but should probably post an actual statement right about now.

Of course, there are ways to remedy it. One is Adblock (which results in the occasional message above every so often), though I hear if you go for a more obscure adblocker it doesn't detect it. ScriptSafe/NoScript could probably block it too but that's not exactly user friendly for the majority of people.

The intentional way to get rid of the ads is scummy enough that while I could indeed pay for it, I will not, and I'll also advise against anyone else doing so. The method in question is buying ad-free "page-views", which not only doesn't make sense (Especially when the ads are literally just ads for Proboards), it's also far less sane than a tidy monthly subscription deal. Page views come in bundles of 50k, $8 a piece, it's nonsense. 

So yeah, bear with it. It's not irritating and you can get around it. It makes us look slightly less professional but eh. If it reaaally ruins your life, bugs you more than it ultimately should, the mandatory option is there for anyone on the forum to donate pageviews themselves via the "Click here to remove banner ads from this forum." at the bottom of the page for all users. Or just book my Proboards Ad Guy edit (#shill) in a squash supercard.
