Customary e-fed delay explanation post: There has to be some kind of rule/curse that any momentum I gather becomes its own obstacle. Every time I get my (webbed) footing under me and start to produce some shows and promos, the bottom falls out. I had a nice run going in late summer but it just stopped cold last month. I was hoping to have an OG-J show up last month but things just got too busy. I'd have the time or the energy but not both. I don't really know if I'll be able to do much of anything with either fed for the next few months. With FPW crashing and becoming non-operational throughout late August and September, it took me out of the e-fed mindset. My game seems to be more stable in the past two weeks but my energy to work on edits or shows have plummeted again. I'll probably wait for things to get lighter. I can spark my e-fed enthusiasm within an hour but without the sustained time to allow that catalyst to lead anywhere before I get too busy again, I'd rather just wait. My guess is things will get rolling again in January.
In other news - I reached a bit of a milestone recently. As of last month, it's been 20 years since I started e-fedding. The GWF (GameFAQS Wrestling Federation) started around August/September of 2002 and turned into Pro Wrestling WILD later that Fall. So the character of Orochi Geese and my own involvement in e-feds has been going on for 20 years. That is all kinds of crazy to me π I would love more time and energy to continue doing this at the level I did from like 2005-2010 (where I was somehow juggling weekly shows for 3 e-feds and participating heavily in FPCPP) but I'm grateful that I am still able to do it at all. On a daily basis, my headcanon RP'ing reminds me what a huge role these feds have played in my life.
Thanks to everyone here who has participated in feds with me during the past 20 years!! π

Take all the time you need, waterfowl friend. I know to trust that you reliably take my edits and make great entertainment out of them in time.

Thank you very much π
Of course, the entertainment is already in your edits. You can just think of me as a juicer - a Gooser juicer - that just squeezes every last bit of fun out of them for maximum audience refreshment π§
MJC: "Juice is nutritious but that metaphor is upsetting." Robin: "The bigger problem is that #GooseJuice has just started trending." MJC: "Uh oh. Luke, I think we have to cancel our apple picking plans."

Tonight was my last chance to finish the OG-Joshi show before things get really busy. I did it π OG-Joshi's "After School Fun Special" August event has been posted! The card is as follows: - EMERGE: Aria Holt vs. Flame Valentine - EMERGE: Yasuna Shimizu vs. Cassandra Carter - OG-Joshi Tag Team Championship: Arctic Angels vs. Hellions (c) (c) There are also a lot of "life lessons" and character segments throughout the show. Here are my thoughts that aren't really too spoilery: The focus was obviously on comedy and revisiting some of my favorite characters over the past few years. I love writing as Jean Carter and giving her entertaining things to do. She's one of my favorite characters to just write for and have others play off her. I don't expect future ASFS shows to have as many segments though. But as this was the first OG-Joshi show in years, I wanted her to bask in the fun of it π
Bringing back and "reforming" Holly's infamous Orochi-O's Land segment was a true pleasure for me too.
I am still working to complete the actual edits of the EMERGE wrestlers so it's gonna be a while until I can feature them in matches. I thought animated GIFS with some match narrative was best for now to allow them to be seen in some way while keeping the matches easy to write and this show easier to finish. The match write-ups were the last thing I did for this show, following animated GIFS I got like two months ago.
So yeah, I had fun with this show but I'll be keeping things a bit more concise in the future π

New OG Joshi? Gotta say I'm super into the appearances. I've avoided looking at the EMERGE roster until now so I could be surprised and they rule so far.

Gotta say I'm super into the appearances. I've avoided looking at the EMERGE roster until now so I could be surprised and they rule so far. I've been avoiding looking at the roster recently due to shame of not finishing the show! π Luckily, I've redeemed myself a little at least. If I'm lucky, show 2 will be started and posted in January. That's not even an exaggerated delay time either. It's exactly what I'm hoping for. I'm really glad that you like the new EMERGE wrestlers so much! π I got about 20 new joshi wrestlers in drafts and acquisitions over the past year. So I had to figure out exactly who I wanted to feature in the first official EMERGE class. I went with wrestlers who were unique, fun, and pair off well with each other in terms of personality and wrestling style. Aria Holt was made by Knocked. What I have shown of Aria so far barely scratches the surface of the years of canon, battle strategy, and character expertise that Knocked created for her. When I initially drafted her last year, Knocked sent along a character bible complete with awesome drawings. Dude is a character virtuoso and Aria is battle ready! Flame Valentine was made by TigerStripePro. I got her in a draft too. She's like the prototypical ass kicker. I'm going to have fun writing her because she's completely chill out of the ring but will raise hell within it. And her build is just scary since she towers over most opponents and has some serious muscle. I created Cassandra Carter and Yasuna Shimuzu. Cassandra is probably the best Joshi edit I ever made from a pure appearance perspective. I still have no idea how I pulled that look off. Girl just SHINES. I also have her character, story, and backstory figured out. I'm probably closest to finishing her edit out of all the ones on the roster. Yasuna is the little engine that could. She also is pretty close to being finished. I went for an appearance that was simple but fun and functional. I could see MJC rooting big for her down the line due to her spirit and choo choo noises π The next show features the other four wrestlers on the EMERGE roster and I think you'll dig them too π

*Looks at calendar* What time is it? Robin Walker says it's "Prime Time"π
The matches are capped and uploaded. FPW gave me some bangers, especially the main event. I will aim for a shorter write-up so that the entire event can be posted by early January π

"Sexy Prime: The 19th OG-FPD Anniversary Show has been posted! The card is as follows: UBL: Basic Training: Sebastian Blake vs. Darryl βDukeβ Williamson OG-Joshi: "Pre-Emerge" - Doji O-Ushi vs. Ryo Sakura UBL: Universal Circuit Title: Mystery Opponent vs. THRASH Ogawa (c) Team Crawling Chaos (Kathy Queen/William King) vs. Orochi Army (Robin Walker/Geese Walker) My thoughts: I wrote the majority of this tonight so I think I did a pretty good job on size relative to recent events. The main event has the most commentary cause October Raven and I have been building to it for a while. That match and the Circuit Title match were amazing to me. Two of my fave matches of the past year that I got. I really like the first two matches too and think they served their place on the card well. That hadouken finish made me LOL. I'm happy I was able to finish and post this show when I planned on it. And, going forward, I'll be aiming for even more digestible shows for both promotions so that I can move things along.
I hope everyone enjoys this π

I've only had time to watch the opening match so far but that was one of the most compelling "Young Lion" style matches I've ever seen in Fire Pro. I love all the custom animation work you've got going on in there. Is this what FPW is in 2023? How much of that did you do yourself? Absolutely great and just when I thought things were getting predictable, Blake pulls the upset. Great stuff. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I really appreciate that "Young Lion" comment! π That is what I'm going for with the Basic Training roster along with one more influence which I will try to bring out more in the coming months. What I do for these edits is create them as main roster edits first and then create a duplicate edit which I scale back the moves for. I essentially de-evolve them while knowing the direction their edits will go in. I find that working backwards allows me to already have a plan for their edit and character growth.
As for the match, I can't take too much credit for the moves other than choosing them for the edits. What you were seeing is the incredible quality and variety of moves made by others on the Workshop. I don't think it was shown but Blake has one move that I made myself: a german suplex combo clincher. But I'm pretty sure that all of the created moves that they showed in the match were ones I downloaded from the Workshop. I especially like Blake's sliding submission move from standing. That thing is pretty lethal too.
And yeah, I absolutely loved that finish!! Even though it was a hadouken, it felt more like an early SNK "desperation style" super π
That is definitely what Fire Pro is in 2023 although I would actually say there's far more I could probably do if I downloaded the mod pack. This is still "vanilla" Fire Pro but I have thousands of moves π
I hope that you enjoy the rest of the show!

Kathy Queen and William King with an absolutely scorching hot promo in the aftermath of Sexy Prime.
This was awesome!!! Loved the criticism itself and the bitter tone that it had. Maybe they were having spicy chicken sandwiches at Wendy's because they were spitting fire and acid here at the Walkers!
Loved King's criticism of UBL's working practices too! And this line π
It also gave me a ton of ideas. I'm gonna gather them and hopefully start writing a response tonight. I really love how his story is coming along and you just brought it to the next level with this promo!

Kathy Queen provides one of the most heartfelt promos ever in OG-Joshi to reply to Robin Walker. It's exceedingly rare to see those "hardest two words" uttered in a pro wrestling rivalry in the first place, let alone delivered with such poignancy to push this rivalry to an entirely new level π

I wanted to call out this bit in particular:
Because it opened up a fascinating nexus of alternate realities in my head. Imagine if Holly had gone after promotions like Dragon Isle and SWA. That's... actually probably a really good way to spread oneself too thin and get wrecked by vicious yakuz- I mean lawyers. Definitely lawyers.
