Joachim's character is being tested and developed by all of this. All of the overall Destiny narrative is being replaced by his own personal growth storyline.  It's like Corey is honing him into a worthy blade. Loving every bit of this.  Going to enjoy replying to the previous one and this one 😎

Things were getting unwieldy with the Gauntlet storyline as it stood. I had to make some major changes and I wanted to focus attention on the Championships without so many outside distractions. I'm not going to say Gauntlet/Destiny are completely gone (though I have contingency plans either way), but I'm going to shift away from them as the primary antagonists of UBL. That said, there will be some a few different angles of Gauntlet's removal that will play out later in the year. For now, I just want to focus on getting shows running that focus on the actual competition in the UBL. I want to elevate the Championships, the midcarders on the cusp of main event status, and the Basic Training roster. The Gauntlet story was getting in the way of things.

When I originally wrote the "We had a Blast" RP earlier this year, I wasn't expecting it to lead to this. But then I realized it was a fun misdirect that would "blow up" in Gauntlet's face. It signaled that the rest of the Tour would be further controlled by them, only for the rug to be pulled out from under them. I loved the idea of THRASH rallying the troops in secret, likely in response to that promo (and Continuum III) and then the "new generation" rising up to take out the group that took years from their wrestling primes. It ran counter to my own initial ideas of this long-running feud by Gauntlet that could only be truly fought and won by certain characters. I subverted my own long-term storyline to re-energize myself. I hope that I'm able to actually follow through on doing more shows regularly. In any case, I'm having fun thinking about and writing these stories.
