John is about to get even busier than Arthur let on in that announcement! 😲
But I think he's happy. John only got to do commentary for "ALL YOUR BASE" last year and was itching to going back to being the voice of the UBL. While he was hoping to do that on official commentary for traditionally broadcast shows, he's at least glad that he's being put in such a key role.
And thanks - I'm glad you like my improvisation here 😀 I'm stirring up some tasty lemonade with the legislative lemons that got thrown into our faces 🍋 LOL I already have the concept for the next tour thought up and a lot of booking for it. While the lack of video hasn't forced my hand creatively, there are benefits to going text-only for some of what I have planned. Also, last year I was really 'grappling' with the idea of changing the format of my shows to make them easier to produce and digest. While "Catalyst" is traditional in many senses, I'm going to be playing around with different formats this year. And that probably wouldn't have happened (due to my own inertia) had I kept my shows revolving around video matches.
The big question for me now really is how much to rely on pictures. I want some visual element to the show, especially for angles. But how much to use them for matches is something I'll have to figure out. I don't want the connection to Fire Pro to be severed and I feel I risk doing that by not having some in-ring pics anchor the matches. But I'm just not sure how much they add to text summaries or what the line is with the number of pics where I'm putting more time/effort in to get them than the audience is really benefiting from seeing them. So that's something I'm still playing with in my head and will figure out more during the tour.
Catalyst is going to be a big show. It's introducing something I've wanted to do for years 😁

For whatever its worth, I think adding pictures is a good idea. When I run my Warrior Grounds "house shows" (which are basically non-live stream shows where I record and post matches, plus include promos and angles to set up future matches for my big live shows), I've found adding a picture helps visually segment the different parts of the show and add something eye catching so people dont get washed over with a bunch of text. It can also spark ideas for promos and just overall add an extra layer to the storytelling. Gifs- which I saw you using last year and really liked- could also be an option to visualize match finishes or certain big angles.
Regardless of where you settle, I'm definitely interested in seeing where UBL goes for its next tour.

It's worth a whole lot! 💰 Thank you VERY much for the feedback!! 😀 I think adding pictures is a good idea. That's a very good idea. Maybe what I do is keep pictures for the majority of matches - even if it's just like 1-2 pictures a match. And then I can use GIFS for either big angles or big matches. I agree that having visuals on the show really helps the immersion and excitement. Having a giant wall of text is kind of a turn-off for many people and I don't want to lose the connection to Fire Pro. I have one match done for Catalyst and used about 4-5 pictures. I'll probably do the same for the second match since there are just two matches on the show and the rest are angles which I also have pictures for. Moving forward, I'll probably make sure that every segment has at least one picture. Regardless of where you settle, I'm definitely interested in seeing where UBL goes for its next tour. Thanks!! It's going to be very ambitious, I can promise you that! 😁

"Choose Your Party" was written and posted tonight but takes place in August of 2015. It is part of the "Compound Fracture" series of retroactive RP's that show why Geese came back to the ring in 2018, account for the demise of the Destiny compound in California, and account for the disappearance of both Celes and Mr. Figaro. There are two parts left to this series. The final part will go a long way in explaining Geese Walker's current mindset. Note: this RP is very long and full appreciation requires a fondness for Final Fantasy VI. That being said, I enjoyed every second of writing this as I've had it in mind for over five years 😎

The Randolph Wire provides some big news on a major superstar making his return to UBL and also lists some additional participants signed for the Universal Championship league! The first show of the Dimensional stream of the Collider Tour is coming along nicely and should be ready by mid February. I also have just about everything booked for the Continuum league stream and the first show will be in March. In the meantime, I'll be setting more things up with RP's, specifically Geese's story 💹

That was awesome! Oh man, Corey just couldn't catch a break with reporters focused on his SFU-directed announcements!
LOL'd at the Lando Ford name 🚀
And the "Ruger Bodega" name which sounded like "rutabaga" to me.
(I'm offended that there's no official MS emoji for rutabaga)
Well said, Corey!
😭
Great summary here of the previous promo! It makes sense that some in the press would have misconstrued what he said too so I like the re-directing of his purpose. "Not retirement, refocus" 😎
I'm almost positive I was the one that capped that match too as part of a big e-fed show. I remember simming it a few times and being in wonder how nicely you layered the submissions for both edits.'
Corey is really doing a great job hyping up the Infinite Continuum League! 😎

The "Universal Championship" section of the ubble boards has the rules and partial roster for the league: ogubl.proboards.com/board/4/league-eventsThe blocks will be filled out by next month and then the schedule will be posted soon afterward. I'm currently working on the first event of the Dimensional tour ("1st Dimension") and a bonus show. The bonus show should be completed and posted next weekend. "1st Dimension" will be posted two weeks later.

BT-3GThe "Dimensional" stream starts a little differently than how fans were expecting it too. Many debuts and one huge return awaits the audience for this surprise show!
