I haven't written directly for her in over 5 years so it was really fun to see how she has grown. The choice of attire was meant to represent some of the fun she wants to reclaim but hasn't returned to her mannerisms. This is also one of the first "post-Title win" promos I've ever written where the wrestler is barely celebrating. I think, in reflecting on what the moment means to her, she concentrated more on the pain than the vindication. Sometimes one can wish for a moment so much that, when they finally actually get it, they can only think about all the years they fell short. Alicia is wistful here even as she tries to move forward.
Some of the newer UBL fans may not be so aware of Alicia. I tried to have this promo (and MJC commentary at "ALL YOUR BASE") provide some background on her while also keeping her in the moment and pushing things forward. After Destiny Drive, I kept her out of the public eye just waiting to bring her back in when the time was right. Once I made the decision to have Rivers revealed as a Destiny agent (and that story isn't quite complete yet), it was an easy decision to start the Sirius Mask story.
There are few characters of mine who have gone through more than what Alicia has. She got done VERY dirty by Holly on multiple occasions (from Juli almost ending Alicia's career to that whole disgusting "Indecent ProposaLAWL" RP) and then by Destiny. And when she had the chance to take a big opportunity to defeat Joachim, she stepped aside because she thought it was the right thing to do, only to realize Rivers was even worse. She is finally getting her chance to not just make things right, but to right her own path 😎

Okay, so it's almost January 1st, 2020. I mentioned why I was concerned about this here and here (in greater detail). In short, any videos that are on Youtube as of 1/1/2020 run the risk of being fined unless the existing policy change or are better clarified. I feel that video game content (especially one with the nature of Fire Pro graphics) runs a particular risk of falling into a grey area. I have chosen not to run the risk and will rely on write-ups plus pictures moving forward. Here's why the leaders of OG-FPD are now PO'd. I hated having to write this RP but it was my attempt to provide canonical reason for the fact that I won't be capping or uploading videos for the foreseeable future. I have also taken my existing videos down from Youtube. I'll make this work. I won't let it deter me from continuing these promotions or what I had planned for the next few years. I had a LOT planned for this year that was text-only anyway in regards to Geese's storyline explanation and the big arc I've planned for years. Most of that can't be done through video anyway. I'll also probably get to spend more time on edits now that I'm not trying to get them ready for video matches. And I can still post animated GIFS in shows for cool spots that come up while simming. So, we keep moving forward. I won't let creativity be a victim of this situation. I'll just have to use more of it 💡 |

Corey O'Brian starts the year with some huge announcements! "For Nua Lang Syne"
A very heartfelt promo from Corey hitting on so many topics that so perfectly represents his state of mind and the state of his career. I read this numerous times because the emotion really came through so strong.
Wow that's a huge announcement 😲
Love the passing of the torch message as well as his conviction in his plans regarding both Titles.
The build-up to the first show of the next tour is getting me exactly where I want to be.

Couple comments on it I almost called it "This is Tramadol" but felt that it lessened the impact of that line. Then For Auld Lang Syne, which fit the timing of it but not the spirit. So I went with For Nua Lang Syne, "For New Times Sake". The title was the last part of the promo I wrote. The line was also almost "These are opioids" but I wanted to put more weight into how badly Corey O'Brian's body is beat up, and wanted to make it realistic as possible so I actually looked up the USADA guidelines and found a permitted opioid which also happens to be one of the strongest opioids in the market. I also hinted at Corey's opiod use back last January too, so this was kind of the payoff of that. |

"For New Times Sake" was the perfect title for this, without a doubt!
I really like that you researched this and actually found a specific one that people use. That was a really nice touch. And yeah, I remember that part of that promo but didn't place as much stock into it as I should have. The fact he was already on the highest dose well before that match with Agent 1 means that Corey's body likely felt horrible after ALL YOUR BASE despite his victory. His announcement here made total sense and was also heart-wrenching to read. In wanting to eventually pass the torch so badly, he may burn himself in the process. Xander is going to be in a tough position watching this all occur over the next two years.
