I went in for outpatient surgery on my knee and was off work for two months to recover. During that time I fell deep back into this community that I hadn't been around since the very early 2000s (after the release of D but well before Z came out). I was conveniently off for the release to early access as well as the G1. I got very much into the editing of custom rings and then arenas when Carl first made that a possibility. I made my first original edit ever and entered him into the ZIP Japan Jr Heavyweight tournament which, to my utter surprise, he actually won a qualifying match for and then got spanked in the first round. I got half decent at trying to help people install and/or troubleshoot problems with the modsuite when it was just simple user error stuff.
For those 2 months I spent a lot of time refreshing the arena forums just skimming threads or posting when I had something to contribute. I spent way too many hours and late nights in the discord with the fine totally normal people there, and many many more minus the late nights since going back to work. I got to know quite a few of you there and actually tend to enjoy chatting with you guys there than the majority of people I know locally. There have even been a handful of people I remember from the old old days who have shown up again similar to myself with the release of World and that's kinda surreal considering I was around 13 or 14 at the time when I used to hang out on #FirePro on IRC in the PS1/DC days.
I've felt nothing but welcomed by everyone from "old guard" top edit makers and guardians of the forums to people who have just started playing within the last year or two. This is such a fun community to be a part of (at two different stages in my life) and this is me just tossing out a huge "THANK YOU" to everyone I've come to know and befriend from then until now. I hope I'm a worthwhile member to have among you guys and try my best to return the favor to anyone any chance I get.
P.S. If this thread is better suited in a different category I apologize and please move it where you feel it belongs. I just thought this would be the best place to share it with the majority of the community.
