WWA: THE REVOLUTION TOUR SHOW 5
Manchester, England December 5th, 2001
MATCH 1 DREW MCDONALD VS. JOHN TENTA
Sadly for the Manchester wrestling fans, they drew the short straw when it came to seeing a quality opening match, as this was the worst opener of the tour to date.
While the bout was hardly electrifying the crowd beforehand, it came to a very abrupt and unfortunate ending just before the 10 minute mark, when "The Highlander from Hell" Drew McDonald failed to regain his footing following a running sit-down splash from John Tenta. As Drew McDonald gasped for air, the referee quickly called time on the match, giving the win to the man formally known as Earthquake.
Drew McDonald was taken out of the arena on a stretcher following the match. Early medical reports indicate that he suffered a sternal fracture, caused by the impact upon his chest from John Tenta's landing.
It's unlikely that Drew McDonald will be seen in a WWA ring for quite some time thanks to this injury. We wish him all the best in his recovery.
MATCH 2 TAG TEAM ACTION JUVENTUD GUERRERA & JODY FLEISCH VS. PSICOSIS & JONNY STORM
It was a rematch from the 1st of December up next. Sadly, the quality of this bout was quite the downgrade when compared to the standard of action that these two teams delivered on that evening in Birmingham.
As was the case in Birmingham, it was Psicosis who got pinned, but this time around, he was pinned by "The Phoenix" Jody Fleisch, rather than the WWA International Cruiserweight Champion "The Juice" Juventud Guerrera.
As we've witnessed from Juventud and Jody when they've teamed together on previous nights of the tour, there was definitely some competitive tensions between the two partners.
After the match ended, Jody Fleisch picked up the WWA International Cruiserweight Championship from a ringside table it was placed on, and looked at it with wanting eyes, before walking over and attempting to hand it to it's rightful holder, Juventud Guerrera.
Before Jody could hand the Championship over, it was snatched from his grasp from Juventud, with the Champ appearing very annoyed that Jody would even dare touch his Championship.
"You DON'T TOUCH the Juice's property. Who do you think you are?" Juventud was heard to yell at Jody Fleisch.
"Who am I?" responded Jody Fleisch "I'm the man who'll be calling that Championship MY property soon enough!"
"You're good Jody, REALLY good" retorted Juventud "but be careful what you wish for when you're gunning for the top of the food chain in Cruiserweight competition, because I'm the Champ for a reason... I'll teach you that there's a massive difference between being a big fish in a small pond, and being on the level of the Juice!!"
MATCH 3 "THE PERFECT ONE" CURT HENNIG VS. KONNAN
With both Curt Hennig and Konnan coming into this bout looking to get back on a winning track following losses in London, it was clear to see that both competitors put everything they had into trying to score a victory in this outing. The crowd on hand in Manchester saw the efforts given, and responded accordingly, in appreciation for just over 14 minutes of solid wrestling action.
Konnan had Curt Hennig on the rocks on multiple occasions, out brawling him with some aggressive attacks, both in and outside of the wrestling ring.
As Konnan began to tire, the ever opportunistic strategist that is Curt Hennig wisely found his opening to outwrestle his opponent.
Curt Hennig thought he had the match won after hitting his signature Hennig Plex, but whether it was through motivation from having the fired up Manchester crowd rooting for him, or just determined resilience, Konnan managed to kick out at 2.9!!!
While visibly shocked by K-Dawgs determination to stay in the fight, Curt Hennig didn't allow himself to be taken off of his game plan for long. Hennig went back to the drawing board, and pulled out a perfectly executed bridging back suplex, which was enough to finally keep Konnan down for the match winning three count!
MATCH 4 SIX MAN TAG MATCH "THE BEAST" BOB SAPP, DEVON STORM & SHARK BOY VS. DISCO INFERNO & THE RAINBOW EXPRESS
Next, Manchester was treated to a highly engaging and all around entertaining six man tag team encounter.
While the power of "The Beast" Bob Sapp was not something that the trio of Disco Inferno and Lenny and Lodi of the Rainbow Express could hope to contend with without resorting to some cheap tactics, fortunately for them, they came equipped with many of those.
After many underhanded tactics employed by the unpopular trio of Disco Inferno and The Rainbow Express, that infuriated the fans on hand in Manchester, The finish of this contest came when Disco Inferno and Shark Boy were the legal participants. Disco Inferno hit Shark Boy with a low blow kick while the referee was distracted, before connecting with The Chartbuster.
Outside of the ring, Devon Storm was already down after being thrown into a ringside barricade. Lenny and Lodi of the Rainbow Express each grabbed an arm of Bob Sapp's, to stop him from rushing to make the save for Shark Boy. The powerful Bob Sapp easily shrugged off the Rainbow Express, and rolled into the ring, but it was too late, as referee's hand came down for the match winning three count.
In a completely over the top display, Disco Inferno then celebrated as if he had just won the World Championship. Having seen enough of this, "The Beast" Bob Sapp decided to cut the celebration short, setting his sights on Disco, and chasing him to the backstage area. Hopefully Disco Inferno had a ride waiting and ready to drive him far away from Manchester!
HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE HITMAN!!!
The fans in Manchester were then treated to an appearance from the legendary Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
Bret told the fans that it's been great to return to Manchester, and hearing how vocal they've been to the matches so far tonight, this is still the great wrestling city he remembers it being back when he was competing.
Bret then took the time to reflect on some of his personal memories of competing in Manchester. "I remember battling over the WWF World Heavyweight Championship, back when that Championship actually meant something, twice in this city! I went in to battles with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, as well as my own brother, Owen....and thanks in part to you great fans of Manchester cheering me on, I walked out of both of those bouts with the Championship still around my waist!"
Bret then paused, to take in the cheers of the fans, before continuing on "and, going even further back, I have memories from the early days of my career in this city. World Of Sport! and I'll never forget wrestling one of your very own, and a man who, in my opinion, is one of the all time great technical wrestlers, and that man is Marty Jones!!!"
"Now, with respect to the past history of this great sport, it's time to focus on the present and the future, and in my opinion, the present and future of Professional Wrestling is in no safer hands than with this operation that I'm proud to be associated with, The World Wrestling All-Stars!"
"So Manchester, I have a question for you" said Bret "Who likes what they've been seeing out of the World Wrestling All-Stars so far?"
An enthusiastic roar from most of the fans made it clear to Bret that they were happy with what they've been seeing.
"Well, that's real good to hear" said Bret in response "and I'm sure the WWA General Manager Rena will be happy to hear this feedback also. Especially given the fact that, just earlier today in a phone conversation I had with her, Rena gave me permission to make an announcement on her behalf. Next May, the WWA will host a Pay Per View spectacle, right here in the United Kingdom...WWA CRUEL BRITANNIA, and the host city for that Pay Per View, will be, THIS VERY CITY of MANCHESTER!!!"
This announcement caused the crowd to pop, and Bret waited for them to settle before continuing on.
"Manchester, this is my final night here on the tour before I fly back home to Canada. I've enjoyed my time here in the UK, and I've heard great crowds in Birmingham, as well as London, but to be honest, you guys here in Manchester, you just may be, the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!!! THANK YOU for being a fantastic audience Manchester, and for giving wrestling fans the World over a good name. Enjoy the rest of tonight's show, and look forward to WWA CRUEL BRITANNIA in May of 2002!!!!"
MATCH 5 BUFF BAGWELL VS. VAMPIRO
The fans were treated to a good one here, with some exciting, well paced, and evenly matched action on display. Buff Bagwell was fired up before the bell even rang, slapping himself across the face, and seemingly muttering to himself in an attempt to self motivate. He seemed determined to make this night in Manchester the night where he'd land his first singles victory in a WWA ring.
Vampiro looked strong throughout, and almost landed the victory following The Nail in the Coffin. Unfortunate positioning upon Vampiro's connection of the move meant that Buff Bagwell was saved from certain defeat by placing his hand onto the bottom ring rope.
Vampiro troubled Buff later on in the bout, when he crotched Buff on the top turnbuckle, where Buff was seemingly eyeing up an attempt of his trademark Buff Blockbuster.
A gouge of the eyes from Buff to Vampiro became the centre of the referees attention. As the referee warned Buff about the eye gouge, his eyes weren't focused on a sneaky knee from Buff, which connected way down south on Vampiro. Buff Bagwell then rolled a startled Vampiro up, for a match winning count of three.
Upon scoring the victory, Buff Bagwell let out an almost primal yell, as he slapped down onto the canvas in celebration. This first singles victory in a WWA ring has been a long time coming for Buff Bagwell. Was this just one night of good fortune, or the start of a true turnaround in Buff's WWA career? Time will tell!

MATCH 6 TAG TEAM MAIN EVENT BRIAN ARMSTRONG & NATHAN JONES VS. JEFF JARRETT & STEVIE RAY
The night in Manchester was fittingly capped off with what was, by far, the best bout of the show. A bout mixed with a fine blend of storytelling and edge of the seat wrestling action.
The brand new WWA World Heavyweight Champion Brian Armstrong, teamed with the very man he waged war with to win it from just two nights prior in London, "The Colossus" Nathan Jones. While Nathan Jones did look at the WWA World Heavyweight Championship that was resting over Armstrong's shoulder for an almost uncomfortably long period of time before the match, the respect between the new Champion and the former Champion saw to it that they focused on the job at hand, working together as a team perfectly well throughout the bout.
While some may have predicted that Brian Armstrong and Nathan Jones would've struggled to co-exist as a team, it was actually the team of "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett and the newly dubbed "High Level Heat" Stevie Ray that showed friction as the bout progressed.
All too aware that he holds the #1 Contendership Golden Ticket for a WWA World Heavyweight Championship shot at the upcoming WWA Revolution PPV, "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett seemed reluctant to get his hands too dirty in this match. At points, Jarrett would arrogantly tag himself out, and try and get Stevie Ray to do all of the heavy lifting.
Towards the end of the bout, Stevie Ray had enough of Jeff Jarrett's less than committed teamwork, and he called him out on it, before forcibly tagging Jarrett in.
Minutes later, after coming unstuck in exchanges with both Brian Armstrong, and "The Colossus" Nathan Jones, a visibly rattled Jeff Jarrett slapped the chest of Stevie Ray, forcibly tagging himself out of the match. Jeff Jarrett didn't just stop there though, he took it an extra step, by jumping off the apron and heading to the backstage area, abandoning Stevie Ray, and leaving him to wrestle Brian Armstrong and Nathan Jones in what became a handicap match.
This handicap scenario didn't have long to play out following Jarrett's departure, as "The Colossus" Nathan Jones quickly put Stevie Ray down for the match winning three count, following a two handed Chokeslam.
During the post match celebrations following the bout, "The Colossus" Nathan Jones once again stared longingly at the WWA World Heavyweight Championship being carried around by it's current holder Brian Armstrong. As Armstrong turned around to look at Nathan Jones, he noticed where the gaze of the giant Australian was directed.
"Hey, Big man, you stepped up and delivered on your word of being a fighting Champion back in London" said Brian Armstrong to Nathan Jones "that was mighty brave of you, and you know darn well, I'll return the favour and defend this here Championship against you, any time and any place, because I'm a fighting Champion too!"
"I'll be taking you up on that offer sooner rather than later!" Nathan Jones quickly stated in response.
"I wouldn't have it any other way!" responded Brian Armstrong, who then offered his hand for Nathan Jones to shake. After a respectful but quite intense stare down, Nathan Jones shook the hand of Brian Armstrong, with the Manchester fans cheering both competitors on!

WWA: THE REVOLUTION TOUR SHOW 6
Glasgow, Scotland December 8th, 2001
JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS!!!
Before the scheduled wrestling action had a chance to get underway, the Glasgow fans were treated to an appearance from "High Level Heat" Stevie Ray, who wasted no time in storming out to the ring and snatching the microphone from the ring announcer.
"Now all of you Scottish suckas better quiet the noise down, because High Level Heat has got some business to attend to!" said Stevie Ray, who looked less than impressed when the crowd rejected his request, and instead, only increased the volume of noise, with boos directed towards him.
"Jeff Jarrett, I know you're in the back....so this goes out to YOU sucka" continued Stevie Ray "back in Manchester, you were meant to be my teammate, but you left me high and dry! Did you really think I was just gonna let that slide?"
"Jarrett, I would've ALWAYS been coming for your head after how you played me dirty like that, but when you've got the #1 Contendership Golden Ticket in your possession too? Well, that makes the prospect of the Stevie Ray pain train running right on over you an even more appealing pursuit!"
"So Jeff Jarrett, I'm challenging you to MAN UP and face me TONIGHT, right here in Glasgow" said Stevie Ray "and I want the Golden Ticket on the line too! So come on Jarrett, show that you have a set and accept the challenge sucka!!!"
Within moments, "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett, walked out to the ring, with a microphone in hand.
"Stevie Ray, what kind of malfunction at mentality junction are you having right now?" said an overly confident Jeff Jarrett "First of all, I have no interest in defending the Golden Ticket between now and WWA Revolution, because this is MY ticket to the promised land of the main event of that PPV, where I'll become what I've been destined to be from day one around here, and that's the WWA World Heavyweight Champion!"
Jeff Jarrett paused, as the fans of Glasgow made it clear that they were less than impressed with his reluctance to defend the Golden Ticket.
"You know what Jarrett" said Stevie Ray "These Scottish Suckas may not like me, and I don't like them, but it seems that me and the Scottish are in agreement on one thing, and that's the fact that YOU absolutely SUCK!!!"
The words of Stevie Ray were met with a cheer, along with a chant of "Jarrett Sucks", which visibly got under Jarrett's skin.
"Stevie Ray" responded Jarrett "you and these scottish slapasses do have something in common, because just like them, what you may think and what you may desire, none of it means a damn to the Chosen One!"
"You may want a match with me for the Golden Ticket tonight Stevie, but you're NOT getting it! and there's nobody here who is going to tell me otherwise! The General Manager Rena isn't here tonight, and as for Bret Hart, his meddling ass is back in Canada, where I hope it stays! So the way I see it, as the holder of this Golden Ticket, and the destined future World Champion of the WWA, I'M the authority right now! So when I say that you're NOT getting a match with me Stevie Ray, nobody is going to say any different. HA HA!! taunted Jarrett "Choke on that Slapnutz!!!"
Just as Jeff Jarrett finished speaking, the sound of bagpipes played over the arena sound system. Jeff Jarrett's confident expression was quickly erased, while Stevie Ray and the fans looked on in shock, upon the surprise appearance of "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER!!
Clearly moved by the cheers from Glasgow fans upon his unexpected arrival, the legendary "Rowdy" Roddy Piper entered the ring with a microphone in hand.
"Jeff Jarrett, just when you think you have all of the answers, ole Hot Rod is here in the WWA to change the questions!!" proclaimed Piper "Did you honestly think that a smart woman like the WWA General Manager Rena was just going to let the inmates run the asylum here tonight in Glasgow? No...no...no, that's not how it goes down man, not here, not in the WWA. You see, Rena got on the hot line to the Hot Rod, and tonight, there's ONE MAN with her permission to enforce the law and order around here, and anyone who dares step out of line, they'll find themselves paying the Piper!!"
"Oh great, yet another legend of the past that's been dug up to try and meddle in my business. Piper, you had your time and place, but it's not 1985 anymore you Jurassic slapass" said Jeff Jarrett "Now, before you go back to whichever hole you crawled out from, do the right thing for business, put Stevie Ray straight, and tell him that he's not even in the conversation when it comes to wrestling the Chosen One for the Golden Ticket. In fact, do one better, and declare that NOBODY wrestles me for this Golden Ticket between now and December 15th at WWA Revolution. Do it Piper!"
Roddy Piper laughed, before his face then changed to a serious and unamused expression. The fans then cheered as Roddy Piper walked right up to Jeff Jarrett, nose to nose, and stared him right in the eyes.
"Ah, Jeff Jarrett... you know, Your dad is a stand up guy, he's a great man, but when I look at you, it's evidence that even great men can make great mistakes!" the fans cheered as Roddy Piper continued on "Clearly, you never learned the most important lesson about Roddy Piper, so let me educate you. If you try and tell me what to do, I'll do the exact opposite! I've been a rebel all of my life, and it got me into the main event of Wrestlemania, back before that show even had a number on it!
Roddy Piper then walked over to Stevie Ray "You want Jeff Jarrett for the Golden Ticket tonight? Well, it's your lucky night, because you've GOT IT!!!"
"BUT.....it's NOT going to be a one on one!"
"What the? What are you doing Piper?" shouted a confused and now highly frustrated Jeff Jarrett.
"Yeah, what ARE YOU DOING Piper? I want this sucka one on one!!" Stevie Ray interjected
"I came to check the WWA out, because this is where the buzz of the sport is right now. This promotion is getting bigger and bigger, and it's the place where everybody wants to be!" said Piper "and I've got a Globally known star sitting backstage, freshly signed, he's a 2nd generation talent, and he's ready to get started here in the WWA. These fans know him well, and they'll be happy to see him. So, tonight, I'm making him happy, and I'm making the fans happy, because I'm throwing him into the mix. Let's have ourselves a Golden Ticket 3-Way Match!!!"
"A third man, what the hell is this? Who is it Piper?" asked Jeff Jarrett
"If you weren't so rude to me, maybe I would tell!" responded Roddy Piper "but now, you're just going to have to wait until match time!!"
"I want to know who the third man is. TELL ME!" demanded Stevie Ray
"I would tell you Stevie, but you forgot to say PLEASE!" retorted Piper
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper then took his leave from the ring, leaving both Jeff Jarrett and Stevie Ray looking frustrated, wondering who'd be the third man joining them in the main event of the evening, now set as a 3-Way with the #1 Contendership Golden Ticket on the line!
MATCH 1 WWA INTERNATIONAL CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE BOUT "THE JUICE" JUVENTUD GUERRERA (C) VS. "THE PHOENIX" JODY FLEISCH
After working together as team mates for three shows of the tour, Glasgow played host to seeing "The Juice" Juventud Guerrera and "The Phoenix" Jody Fleisch do battle against one another, with the WWA International Cruiserweight Title on the line!
The fans in Glasgow were treated to the fast paced aerial encounter that they anticipated out of these two incredible competitors. If you decided to blink during this one, you'll have no doubt missed something!
While both Champion and Challenger were shown appreciation from the crowd, Jody Fleisch benefitted from being closer to home, with some large vocal support for him audible throughout the fans in attendance, who wanted to see the sensation of the independent scene pull off the title victory.
Sadly for Jody and the fans rooting for him, it wasn't to be on this occasion, as the greater experience of the Champion saw him pull out the win following a rotating variation of the Juvi Driver.
In a great show of respect following the bout, Juventud Guerrera helped Jody Fleisch up to his feet, and the two wrestlers shared a handshake. Hopefully, this won't be the last time that we get to see these two competitors square off in a WWA ring.
Juventud Guerrera has now made three successful defences of the WWA International Cruiserweight Championship!
MATCH 2 TAG TEAM ACTION DEVON STORM & SHARK BOY VS. JONNY STORM & PSICOSIS
In a highly competitive and entertaining rematch from the London date of the tour on December 3rd, fortunes were reversed, as it was the duo of Devon Storm and Shark Boy who picked up the victory on this occasion!
Even more pleasingly for the victorious team that some WWA fans are beginning to refer to as "Shark Storm", the win came via Shark Boy managing to pin Psicosis, the man who'd pinned him back in London. Shark Boy's victory came via an on the fly Powerbomb counter from an attempted Hurricanrana.
MATCH 3 DISCO INFERNO VS. JOHN TENTA
In a great contest, John Tenta managed to remain undefeated in the WWA, but not without quite the struggle, as the crafty Disco Inferno proved to be a trickier opponent than perhaps both he and the fans anticipated going into the action.
What Disco Inferno lacked in strength, he made up for with his speed advantage, plus his seemingly never ending repertoire of cheap and underhanded tactics. An eye poke in the early stages of the bout that was unseen by the referee, plus the usage of a steel chair outside of the ring, stand as just a few examples of how Disco troubled big John.
Unexpectedly, it was a sleeper hold locked in tight by John Tenta that scored the win, sending Disco Inferno into a slumber on dream street!
DISCO AWAKENS TO A REAL LIFE NIGHTMARE!!!
Sadly for Disco Inferno, as he regained consciousness, he knew that his night was going to go from bad to worse, as he watched his rival "The Beast" Bob Sapp storm down to ringside. Disco managed to escape the wrath of an angered Beast in Manchester, but he wouldn't be so lucky in Glasgow.
With the fans of Glasgow cheering him on in full approval, Bob Sapp rattled Disco's senses with some merciless forearm smashes to the skull. As Disco crumpled back down to the canvas, and rolled onto his stomach, Bob Sapp mounted his back and delivered some more cringe inducing strikes.
Thankfully for Disco, a host of WWA security team members flooded into the ring and tried to restrain Bob Sapp. This gave Disco the opportunity to roll out of the ring and stagger as fast as he could to the backstage area.
With WWA security team members surrounding him, Bob Sapp demanded to be handed a microphone. Perhaps fearing a beating, one of the security team was more than eager to fulfil his request.
"DISCO!!!...DISCO!!!!....DISCO!!!!!!!" yelled out Bob Sapp "You were fortunate you only lost the match to me back in October at the WWA Inception. On that night, even though I thrashed you, I actually showed you mercy, because I only took the win, rather than taking your life like I so easily could've done! You should be grateful that I let you live beyond that day!"
"All you had to do, was be smart enough to keep out of my way, but constantly, like an irritating fly, you're there in my line of sight."
"So DISCO....I want a rematch with you, at WWA REVOLUTION, and this time around, I will FINISH THE JOB RIGHT, and make sure that you're never seen in a WWA ring again. Let's make it a stipulation, a LOSER LEAVES WWA match! Let's see if you have the stones to accept that challenge Mr. Spotlight seeker. I wont be waiting long for your answer!!!"
MATCH 4 TAG TEAM ACTION BUFF BAGWELL & CURT HENNIG VS. KONNAN & VAMPIRO
Up next, the Glasgow fans were treated to a near 40 minute masterclass of tag team wrestling, with finely paced storytelling and back and forth action that kept the audience captivated throughout.
Curt Hennig finally managed to get a measure of payback for his WWA World Heavyweight Title Semi-Final tournament loss to Vampiro back at October's WWA Inception PPV, because on this night in Glasgow, Hennig succeeded in keeping Vampiro down for the match winning count of three, following his signature Hennig Plex.
Following the bout, Konnan helped Vampiro up to his feet, only to be aggressively shoved aside. After taking a few moments to calm himself down, Vampiro seemed to apologize to Konnan, and the two men headed to the backstage area together. Match results haven't been in Vampiro's favour on recent shows, and after reaching the final of the WWA World Heavyweight Championship tournament back in October, it would perhaps be understandable if he's feeling some inner frustrations.
MATCH 5 TAG TEAM ACTION BRIAN ARMSTRONG & NATHAN JONES VS. THE RAINBOW EXPRESS
Something was clearly in the Glasgow air that ensured fantastic tag team action on this night, because the fans on hand were treated to another outstanding bout with this encounter.
The Rainbow Express duo of Lenny Lane and Lodi have never looked as focused and polished as they appeared within this encounter, and they opened some eyes amongst those in attendance in Glasgow. There's more to this team than the colourful antics that sometimes distract from the talent they possess.
As good as The Rainbow Express were on this night, they still weren't enough to overcome the collective effort of the resilient WWA World Heavyweight Champion Brian Armstrong, and the unique force of nature that is the former Champion, "The Colossus" Nathan Jones.
While Brian Amstrong and Nathan Jones both clearly know that a day is fast approaching where they'll probably be doing battle over the WWA World Heavyweight Championship once again, the respect between the two competitors ensured that, despite a few communication issues, they worked well as a team, keeping the focus on the task at hand within the moment.
A Jumping DDT from Brain Armstrong kept Lodi down for the count of three. Following the bout, Nathan Jones once again stared longingly at the WWA World Heavyweight Championship while Brian Armstrong held the gold up high, before strapping it up around his own waist. It's obvious for all to see, that Nathan Jones is missing the Championship, and with a Championship opportunity promised to him by Brian Armstrong, it can only be a matter of time before "The Colossus" gets the opportunity to reclaim the gold!
MATCH 6 3-WAY MAIN EVENT FOR THE #1 CONTENDERSHIP GOLDEN TICKET GRANDMASTA SEXAY VS. JEFF JARRETT VS. STEVIE RAY
The arrival of the mystery third competitor in this high stakes main event bout was met with cheers of approval from the Glasgow crowd. The mystery man, making his WWA debut, was Grandmasta Sexay! Fairly fresh off of a successful run in the World Wrestling Federation, the always charismatic Grandmasta Sexay was fired up, feeding off of the energy of the crowd, and seemingly well aware that he'd been granted a tremendous opportunity by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper to catapult himself right to the forefront of WWA World Heavyweight Championship contendership in his debut match for the promotion, should he be successful in attaining the victory.
From the USWA in Memphis, to the global stage of WWF, Grandmasta Sexay is no stranger to Jeff Jarrett, with the two men having battled with and alongside one another many times. Sexay's familiarity with Jarrett, along with the fact that Jarrett had no chance to prepare for facing Sexay on this night, seemed to play a significant role in this bout, as Sexay seemed to be one step ahead of Jarrett in most instances.
When "High Level Heat" Stevie Ray interjected himself into the mix is where Grandmasta Sexay seemed to come unstuck, with the big man from Harlem managing to trouble Sexay significantly. Things got even worse for Sexay when Stevie Ray and Jeff Jarrett decided to put there differences aside to subject him to 2-on-1 attacks.
Through the fault of both Jeff Jarrett and Stevie Ray, every single time they worked together, the alliance would only prove to be temporary, with both men inevitably drawn back to fighting one another.
With Jeff Jarrett and Stevie Ray busy fighting one another, Grandmasta Sexay would regroup, and with the fans firmly on his side, he had an energy to his attacks that neither of his two opponents could find a lasting answer for.
Sensing the lack of focus, and increased desperation of both of his opponents, Grandmasta Sexay increased the tempo of his energetic offensive game plan. While bringing the punishment to both of his opponents, Grandmasta Sexay, ever the showman, still found time to entertain the fans with his antics, making the ring resemble the stage of a dance party as well as a wrestling match at times!
In an example of making the absolute most of a fantastic opportunity, Grandmasta Sexay picked his moment at a golden time. When the equally exhausted Stevie Ray and Jeff Jarrett both collided into one another with running forearm strikes, and floored one another, Grandmasta Sexay climbed the the top rope, and looked back and forth to both of his grounded opponents, before deciding to land his signature "Hip Hop Drop" on Jeff Jarrett.
Grandmasta Sexay jumped up in celebration after the referees hand came down for the count of three, and seemingly every fan in attendance within the Glasgow crowd was happy to celebrate alongside him.
The show concluded with Grandmasta Sexay clutching his newly won #1 Contendership Golden Ticket, as he invited some ringside fans into the ring to join him for a celebratory dance party!
In a highly impressive WWA debut, Grandmasta Sexay has won the Golden Ticket, a ticket that'll grant him a WWA World Heavyweight Championship opportunity at the WWA Revolution PPV on December 15th in Melbourne, Austrailia! With just two more stops on the Revolution Tour between now and the big PPV, will the Golden Ticket remain in the possession of the Grandmasta?

WWA: THE REVOLUTION TOUR SHOW 7
Cardiff, Wales December 11th, 2001
HOT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE HOT ROD!!!
The show got underway with an appearance from the legendary "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, who was warmly greeted by the fans in Cardiff!
Upon entering the ring with a microphone in hand, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper explained to the fans in attendance that per the request of WWA General Manager Rena, he's the figure of authority here tonight in Cardiff. "I feel like you fans here in Cardiff have had to wait a real long time for the WWA to finally make it here" said Piper "But, as the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and tonight Cardiff, I give you my word, you're going to get a show to remember!!!"
"Why? Well I'll tell you why" continued Piper "Nathan Jones, our former WWA World Heavyweight Champion, he has been promised a rematch for that Championship from the man who won it from him back in London, a man who, like Jones before him, makes for a fine Champion, and that's Brian Armstrong! We've got two men in Nathan Jones and Brian Armstrong, that are a rarity in the modern wrestling landscape, because they don't want to hide behind any excuses or BS, they are real men, real warriors, and they are raring to fight!!!"
"So Cardiff, they both want the match, and I know that you all want the match. So it's going to be Brian Armstrong vs. Nathan Jones, for the WWA World Heavyweight Championship, RIGHT HERE.. TONIGHT... IN CARDIFF, WALES!!!"
The announcement from Roddy Piper was met with a roar of approval from the Cardiff fans, pleased at the news that they'd be getting the opportunity to witness a high stakes WWA World Heavyweight Championship bout!
MATCH 1 #1 CONTENDERSHIP GOLDEN TICKET BOUT GRANDMASTA SEXAY VS. STEVIE RAY
It's hard to imagine how Grandmasta Sexay could've made his WWA debut in any more of an impressive fashion than he did back in Glasgow, where he won a 3-Way match to take claim of the WWA World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contendership Golden Ticket, pinning Jeff Jarrett, the man who went into that bout holding the Golden Ticket, in order to do so.
On this cold December night in Cardiff, Grandmasta Sexay showed that his debut performance a few days earlier was no fluke of luck, as he came out victorious in a gripping opening contest, pinning "High Level Heat" Stevie Ray following precise execution of his signature Hip Hop Drop.
With only one more stop of the WWA Revolution tour to go, will anyone be able to stand in the way of Grandmasta Sexay going to the WWA Revolution PPV on December 15th to challenge for the WWA World Heavyweight Championship?
MATCH 2 TAG TEAM ACTION SHARK STORM VS. THE RAINBOW EXPRESS
The fans were treated to a captivating and all around high quality tag team encounter in this rematch from the December 1st Birmingham date of the tour.
In a flip of the coin from the prior bout in Birmingham, it was The Rainbow Express who proved to be victorious on this occasion, with Lodi keeping Shark Boy down for the count of three following a Vertical DDT.
MATCH 3 JEFF JARRETT VS. JOHN TENTA
Following his loss of possession of the #1 Contendership Golden Ticket a few nights prior in Glasgow, "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett came into this encounter with John Tenta in a notably foul mood, seething with anger.
Rather than being a hindrance, the anger of Jeff Jarrett seemed to give him an extra fire in this challenging bout with big John.
After withstanding some punishing attacks from John Tenta, some cunning tactics from Jarrett, which included whipping his larger opponent into a ringside barricade when the action spilt outside of the ring, saw "The Chosen One" take control of the flow of the action. John Tenta was visibly struggling to deal with pain from his right knee following the collision with the ringside barricade, appearing to have had the knee hurt by the impact.
Mid-way through the match, John Tenta shocked the fans, and Jeff Jarrett himself, by kicking out at 2.9 following the Stroke. Unfortunately for John, in the late stages of the bout, Jarrett would target John Tenta's right knee, which had been hurt earlier on in the contest when it collided with the ringside barricade. This allowed Jeff Jarrett the opportunity to land a 2nd Stroke, which proved to be the match winning move.
This would mark John Tenta's first defeat in a WWA ring, and an important return to the victory column for Jeff Jarrett, who one would have to imagine will now have his sights on attempting to reclaim the #1 Contendership Golden Ticket from Grandmasta Sexay!
MATCH 4 3-WAY CRUISERWEIGHT CLASH JODY FLEISCH VS. JONNY STORM VS. PSICOSIS
Next up, the Cardiff fans were treated to some jaw dropping aerial wrestling, as well as some innovative technical sequences, in a thrilling first fall to a finish 3-way cruiserweight clash!
In a match that truthfully looked like it could go to any of the three competitors, with near falls aplenty, it was "The Phoenix" Jody Fleisch who pulled out the win, scoring the three count on Psicosis with a Rollup Pin.
With this victory, "The Phoenix" Jody Fleisch put out a reminder that he's not going to fade away into the shadows following his failure in Glasgow to walk away from his WWA International Cruiserweight Title opportunity with the title in grasp. With statement showings like this, it'll probably only be a matter of time before Jody gets another shot at taking the International Cruiserweight Championship from Juventud Guerrera, so "The Juice" better be on standby!
MATCH 5 SIX MAN TAG BOB SAPP, KONNAN & VAMPIRO VS. BUFF BAGWELL, CURT HENNIG & DISCO INFERNO
With the pace of this six man tag team contest, along with multiple points of action that spilt beyond the confines of the ring at times, the assigned referee had his work cut out for him trying to keep order in this bout.
Disco Inferno annoyed the fans in the arena, with his increasingly desperate attempts to avoid any physical interactions with "The Beast" Bob Sapp, but nobody was more annoyed than Sapp himself. Disco would taunt Bob Sapp, goading him into a confrontation, only to find some way to scurry out of the ring, or tag out to one of his two teammates.
Another point of interest during this bout was a significant wound sustained by Konnan. After taking a running bulldog from Buff Bagwell, Konnan's head was scratched by the canvas, causing severe blood loss. It was admirable that Konnan continued on with the match, telling the referee that he had no intention of stopping every time he was asked.
Sadly for Konnan, his injury would play into the conclusion of the match. After a ringside brawl with Curt Hennig, which saw Hennig roll back into the ring just in the nick of time, K-Dawg was on jelly legs, staggering back to the floor after a determined effort to return to the ring, and unfortunately, Konnan was unable to return to the ring before the referee reached his count of 20.
Following the bout, the celebration of the victorious trio of Buff Bagwell, Curt Hennig and Disco Inferno got interrupted, as "The Beast" Bob Sapp chased Disco Inferno to the backstage area.
Meanwhile, Vampiro paced around the ringside area, and kicked a ringside barricade in a visible display of frustration over being on the losing team. Vampiro then started to walk towards the backstage area, before having a change of thought, which led to Vampiro returning to the ringside area. Vampiro then helped a bloodied Konnan to his feet. The fans cheered on Vampiro, as he helped Konnan walk to the backstage area.
Early medical reports thankfully indicate, that despite the severity of his blood loss, Konnan hasn't suffered any lasting injury, and he's not expected to miss any ring time.
MATCH 6 WWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH BRIAN ARMSTRONG (C) VS. "THE COLOSSUS" NATHAN JONES
While, admittedly, Armstrong vs. Jones 2 didn't succeed in matching the standard of the incredible war that was waged between both competitors back on December 3rd in London, this sequel still succeeded in being a highly intense and hard hitting battle, with neither Champion nor Challenger appearing to hold anything back. The Cardiff crowd sounded like it was split cleanly down the middle regarding who they wanted to see walk out as the victor on this night.
In a captivating contest, that was worthy of the WWA World Heavyweight Championship, Brian Armstrong tried to use the same tactics that saw him achieve victory over "The Colossus" back in London. Sadly for Armstrong, his actions were not seeing the same results this time around, with Nathan Jones having clearly done his homework since the last time they faced off.
The first WWA World Heavyweight Championship defence of Brian Armstrong would unfortunately be his one and only, because at the time of 14 minutes and 20 seconds, a monstrous Chokeslam from "The Colossus" Nathan Jones, that hit so hard, it's a wonder that Armstrong wasn't put right through the canvas, succeeded in keeping the Champ down for the match concluding three count!
Cardiff roared at the conclusion of the bout, understanding that they'd just witnessed a historic scene. For the second time in his career, "The Colossus" Nathan Jones is the WWA World Heavyweight Champion!
Following the bout, in a great display of sportsmanship, the new Champ helped Brian Armstrong up to his feet. Both competitors shared some words, before Brian Armstrong applauded Jones and took his leave from the ringside area, allowing the new Champion to have the ring all to himself to celebrate.
While WWA fans can speculate on when, or if, we'll get to see Armstrong vs. Jones 3, it's the fast approaching WWA Revolution PPV that must be on the forefront of the mind of the now 2x World Heavyweight Champion Nathan Jones. With only one more stop on the WWA Revolution Tour before the PPV on December 15th in Melbourne, Austrailia, it looks as if "The Colossus" Nathan Jones is on track to end this tour just as he started it, with Championship gold strapped around his waist!
UP NEXT: IT'S THE FINAL STOP ON THE WWA REVOLUTION TOUR, AS THE WWA RETURNS TO AUSTRAILIA FOR ACTION IN PERTH!!!
