Pages 4 - 5: a brief look back at Fire Pro's past core titles released on the Super Famicom. Even though the Special Collection was released in 1995, Super Fire Pro-Wrestling X would

also be released the same year.

As such, side titles like Fire Pro Joshi All Star Dream Slam and Super Fire Pro-Wrestling III: Easy Type have been omitted from the above list.



Pages 6 - 7: an overview of Super Fire Pro-Wrestling (1991), the first Wrestling game on Nintendo's 16-bit hardware.

The 'technic' section on every other page lists the various secrets found in each Fire Pro entry. For example, the secrets listed for SFPW1 are:

- Watch the computer play a match.
- Unlock the hidden boss characters.
- Unlock the hidden referees WOMAN and CHACHA.
- Use Lumberjack settings.

Every game also includes a brief history of Japanese Pro-Wrestling from the era. The first piece reads:

Pages 8 - 9: a brief overview of Super Fire Pro-Wrestling 2, and part 2 of the "Flashback" Wrestling summary:

Flashback of "Real" ProWrestling:

"The year 1992, when this software was released, was the year when the real professional wrestling world reached a major turning point. SWS, which was established in 1990 by the general company Megane Super, dissolved in May. Divided into three factions: Tenryu's WAR, Nagasaki's NOW, and Takano Brothers' PWC. Koji Kitao, who was banished from the professional wrestling world for saying "Match-fixing bastard", participates in U Inter. Pages 10 - 11: provides a brief summary of Super Fire Pro-Wrestling III: Final Bout.

Part 3 of the 'flashback' instalment reads:

"The mat world in 1993 opened with a breakout drama and obituaries. Most of the players, including Funaki and Suzuki, left the Fujiwara group. At the Korakuen Tournament on January 16th, the survival of the group was threatened with only two players, the boss and Ishikawa. The players who withdrew started Pancrase in September. Matches that were decided in dozens of seconds occurred one after another, and the word “second killing” became popular. In November, Funaki entered the All Japan Kick ring and faced Maurice Smith. He won a spectacular victory and raised his reputation.

With the catchphrase "Human Mountain", Andre the Giant, who continued to have a tremendous impact on viewers, passed away on January 29th. It is still fresh in our memory that Inoki, a member of the House of Councillors, was accused of wrongdoing by Kotobuki Newspaper, Secretary General of the Sports Peace Party, and Kumiko Sato, secretary. In November, the first Ultimate Tournament was held in Denver, USA. Pancrase's Shamrock participated but lost to Royce Gracie in the semi-finals. Pages 12 - 13: coverage of Super Fire Pro-Wrestling Special.

There are no secrets listed, just various screens showcasing Special's gameplay.

The 'flashback' partition for page 13 reads:

"FLASHBACK OF "REAL" PROWRESTLING
January 4, 1994. The dream card of Inoki VS Tenryu is realized at New Japan's Tokyo Dome tournament. On the way, Tenryu fainted due to Inoki's choke sleeper, but Tenryu won the match with a powerbomb. He went down in history as the only Japanese wrestler to have pinfalled both Baba and Inoki. In February of the following month, at the press conference of the World Tournament held by UWF Inter, it was announced that five players, Misawa, Hashimoto, Tenryu, Funaki, and Maeda, would be nominated as special invitation players. In addition, these 5 players won.

Pages 14 - 15: additional comments from the editor in chief Noboru Yamaguchi, who had just attended Collision in Korea to watch Antonio Inoki wrestle. The editor goes on to explain
the political landscape of Korea, and the visible divide between both north and south.



Pages 16 - 17: feature an exclusive interview with Wrestlers from the Fujiwara-Gumi. The Wrestlers are: ring announcer Punch Tahara, Yushi Ishikawa, Funaki Katsuichi (yes, that WWE Funaki)
& Yasunori Okuda.

Sadly, Yoshiaki Fujiwara himself was not interviewed.

On page 17, Yushi Ishikawa faces off against Funaki Katsuichi. The duo claims they enjoy a game of Fire Pro after a hard practice in the Fujiwara Gumi dojo.



Pages 18 - 19: the reader discovers that Funaki and Ishikawa aren't playing a normal game of Fire Pro. Instead, they are controlling their fellow Wrestlers

Punch Tahara and Yasunori Okuda ...in real life!

Funaki loses the match, and Ishikawa is declared the winner.

The bottom right corner of page 19 is an advertisement for the Fujiwara-Gumi, listing the promotion's upcoming events. A telephone number is also provided

for information (I wouldn't try calling the number now...).



Pages 20 - 21: pie charts which lists the number of Wrestlers organized from the series' fictional promotions.

By Special. there were 221 Wrestlers featured throughout the Fire Pro series. The promotions are listed as: VJP (NJPW), OJP (AJPW), HIDE (Hidden Wrestlers),
WWC (WWF/WCW). IW (Independent/FMW/WAR/WING), U Intel (UWFI), GONGS (RINGS), RYU (WAR), KAKU (K1, MMA, UFC), HIGH CLASS (PANCRASE),
Kajiwara Gumi (Fujiwara Gumi).

Page 21 begins listing the pie charts by game: Super Fire Pro Wrestling, Super Fire Pro-Wrestling 2, Super Fire Pro-Wrestling 3 & Super Fire Pro-Wrestling Special.



Pages 22 - 23: evolution of graphics in the Fire Pro series. Akira Maeda's portraits from the four Super Fire pro titles are used as examples on page 22, while
page 23 displays Stan Hansen's Western Lariat, and Akira Maeda's Flying Kneel Kick.

Pages 24 - 25: an index of all of the Wrestlers who were included in the Super Fire Pro-Wrestling games. The column next to the Wrestler's name lists their finishing move.
The next columns represent the four SFPW titles, with icons representing whether the Wrestler was included in each entry. 0 represents yes, X represents no, and a triangle
indicates that the character was an unlockable Wrestler.



Pages 26 - 27: the Wrestler index continues.



Pages 28 - 29: the second writer contribution. This time around, the deputy editor-in-chief of Monthly Famicom Magazine and Strategy Guides for Fire Pro - Mr. Seiji Tahara
ponders which games he would take with him on a desert island. Tahara says Fire Pro would be high on his list for top ten games to take in such a situation.

Mr. Tahara then goes on to mention that he would spend his time simming matches in Fire Pro's tournament modes with each Wrestler being controlled by the computer.
Even in the mid 90's, Fire Pro players enjoyed creating their own precursors to e-feds.



Pages 30 - 31: an exclusive interview with the sound composer responsible for Special's soundtrack.

The composer (who is referred to as the mysterious 'Mr. X.'), has all of his stats listed as "unknown". Mr. X. is credited for the songs in the Fire Pro series going

back to SFPW1. I believe Mr. X. is actually Chiyomaru Shikura.
