Much like Rikidozan who came before him, Antonio Inoki was a national hero in Japan. Studied under Karate master Mas Oyama and catch Wrestling God Karl Gotch - both of whom helped set the foundations for Japan's Strong Style of Wrestling.
As a pioneer in mixed martial arts, Inoki sought out to be the strongest fighter in the world; taking on various challengers from judo, boxing, sambo and even sumo backgrounds.
A charismatic entertainer and controversial figure in his own right, Inoki carried on the original flame set by Rikidozan; to strengthen the courage of the Japanese people. To never give up and face each challenge head on. An inspirational icon that transcended combat sports into the realms of pop culture phenomena.
May Inoki's Burning Fighting Spirit continue to shine brightly forever.

Studied under Karate master Mas Oyama…. I did not know about a connection with Mas Oyama, I’ll have to look into that more! OSU! From my understanding, it was Mas Oyama that instilled the desire for Inoki to be a world warrior, and travel the globe in search of strong opponents. Indefinitely, the summation of Inoki's Wrestling career in the 1970's and onward.
