Question about landmine death match

So I set up a landmine death match with flourescent tubes. And the edits therein aren't picking up the lighting tubes, even though all four have their "weapons" setting set to 100. The funny thing is, they'll walk up to the boards on which the tubes are positioned as though to grab one...and repeatedly...but absolutely nothing happens.

Is the game broken, or just my head?
