Leather and metal scrape against the floor, Silver Hawk’s newly won Blue Lightning Championship softly reflecting against the dim hallway lights. Snippets of the match resurfaced, but for some reason or another he couldn’t remember the true contents of it. One moment the bell sounded, and the next his hand was getting raised. There was a commotion, and despite the cheers he could remember a low chorus of boos rising from beneath them. Jyushin “Thunder” Liger was a legend in the business. One couldn’t have asked for a better mentor but did he…? Had he really?

Galaxy Girl: Hey Johnny will come around, okay Siv’?

Galaxy Girl had been the only one to congratulate him after the match. She was like a little sister to him. Being the youngest of Star Fleet, Galaxy Girl was always a bundle of energy and always had Silver Hawk’s back. Even after tonight. Even after the third Silver Star Press.

And she was out of there, leaving Silver Hawk alone while he held the championship towards his face.

Silver Hawk: I don’t even deserve this.

???: That’s right, you don’t.

He knew that voice from anywhere. Just hearing it both sent chills down his spine and made him tense with anger. A black shadow swallows up the room before a pair of red eyes arise from the center of it. With his platinum blonde goatee, Black Hawk smiles while he snatches the championship away from his grasp.

Black Hawk: It felt good, didn’t it? You really let things loose out there. Reminded me of the you of old. I’d even say you looked possessed!

Silver Hawk grunts, gets up and shoves Black Hawk with some force. His teeth are snarling, his eyes glowing as he feels an all too familiar rage threaten to consume him. He has him pinned against the wall, but Black Hawk’s demeanor refuses to be phased.

Silver Hawk: I should have recognized the signs from the beginning. What are you doing here? How did you follow us to this universe? Star Fleet ended you!

Black Hawk: Did you really?....or is that just what Selisha and I made you believe?

A red glow illuminates from Black Hawk’s body until a burst of energy forces the brothers apart. He safely lands on the floor, while Silver Hawk unfortunately doesn’t. Dusting himself off, he reclaims the championship before dumping it on his brother’s laying body.

Black Hawk: You honestly should be thanking me. Thanks to my efforts, you’re now an inaugural champion of this, well, let's just call it a mysterious company. You probably feel it too. The energy here…it’s different, and I want it. Guess what, little brother?

Silver Hawk: I’m not helping you.

Black Hawk: Jokes on you, you already have. Our destinies are forever entwined. Unlike your precious Star Geeks, we’re family.

He laughs while Silver Hawk gets up. Like it or not, he was now one of the league’s new champions.

Silver Hawk: You and I both know Selisha’s mind control isn’t everlasting. What happened tonight is the last ounce of help you’re getting from me.

Black Hawk: Is that right?

Black Hawk’s hand glows red while he raises it up. Simultaneously Silver Hawk’s eyes start to glow and mimic that same red color. With a snap of his fingers, Silver Hawk assumes a battle pose before executing a swift back flip. His voice is fighting through his throat.

Silver Hawk: H-h-h-how are you doing this?

Black Hawk: Like I said, dear brother, the energy here is different. I don’t need Selisha’s help in this realm. Isn’t it marvelous?

He makes Silver Hawk do another flip.

Silver Hawk: S-s-stop it.

Black Hawk: You’re lucky we’re blood, Astrophel. I want us to enjoy these memories together, as brothers!

The Hawks then get swept up by the darkness, leaving the space vacant in an instant.

Galaxy Girl: So, um, Silver Hawk? Funny thing! We didn’t have any ice cream in the freezer, but cottage cheese should still work for root beer floats, right? I mean, it’s all the same dairy from earth….cows….?

With four ‘root beer floats’ in hand, Galaxy Girl sighs when she realizes she’s talking to no one.
