Hey all,
I've made the tough choice to go on hiatus with streams. I don't know how long, but my mental health is not in a great place and streaming is starting to feel like a chore. I imagine at least a few weeks, maybe a month or 2, maybe a few months.
One small factor, and I....really don't mean to sound whiny with this, but I haven't had the engagement I'd like sometimes. And that's not to be unappreciative of those who show up, cause I really, really appreciate those who do. And if you don't show up or chat much on my streams, it's alright, I get it, and I don't take it personally. But when I see how many people show up for other streams compared to mine, it can make me sad. No hate cause those other streams are terrific. I just want to be open and honest here.
The bigger factor, though, is my mental and physical health. I've really been struggling. My energy levels are low due to a vitamin D deficiency, and it's made my Depression that much worse. Going to work is hard. Doing anything in my daily life is hard. And fire pro is not at the top of the list of my priorities right now, nor should it be.
I hope to stay a part of the community and show up for streams where I can even being on hiatus. And maybe work on stuff, albeit slower, in the meantime. Put more focus perhaps into contributing to other streams where my edits are welcome. I really do love this community. And I really do thank you for your support. I hope to come back better than before when I do return to regular streaming.
Again, thank you all for your support. This decision is not an easy one, but I know it's the right one right now. Any words of support welcome and encouraged. Hey. It sucks to hear, but also, as someone who has, at times, taken breaks, and retooled my streaming schedule, let alone just simply taking a LONG hiatus from Fire Pro: I get it. Do what you need to do. This community will always be here. You know that, deep down, even if it can be hard to realize when the darkness has really got a hold of you. But everyone is here. The hardest thing about depression, I find, is feeling like you matter, and more so, feeling like you aren't a burden, but I'm telling you: you aren't. Reach out when things get bad. Don't isolate. That can be very hard to do, but do it. You'll thank yourself later. And I'm also saying, especially as someone who suffers from depression and BPD: I'm here. Please don't hesitate to reach out, either via DM on here, or on Discord. Do what you need to do. You know yourself better than anyone else. And be kind to yourself. Don't get too down on yourself, either. Don't rush things. Like I said, we'll all be here. Take whatever time you need when it comes to Fire Pro, and streaming. If you wanna keep fucking around with Fire Pro, do it, but don't get down on yourself for not meeting certain "expectations." Don't set a schedule/deadline for things if you know it won't help. Or, conversely, if you know it helps you to get out of a funk to be productive, then maybe set a deadline of sorts to, say, finish tweaking five edits, or something, in a week. Or just take a break from Fire Pro until you find the spark again. And like you said, if you want to still be involved in the community, then reach out, get your edits out there on other shows. I know Sen, for example, is always happy to have people on his shows. Lefty is too, especially his new women's division, and I am too. As for streaming: Work back into it, slowly. And don't put pressure on yourself. You'll know when you're ready to come back. Start with random streams, and when you're ready, sit down, and really consider what day and time works best for you, and don't be afraid to simply ask community members what days work best for them to view things, and then compromise from there.
Also, just the smallest thing if you haven't done it already, but something that made a HUGE deal for me with regards to streaming, that I've only done pretty recently despite being told to do it for ages: turn your viewer count off. It will eat away at you and you'll worry way too much about it. The second I finally turned it off a few weeks ago, the amount of stress I feel during a stream to be "perfect" dramatically feel, and the amount of times I found myself worrying if something I did was gonna plummet my viewer count also dropped dramatically.
Remember: You are loved. We're all here for you. And take however much time you need, then come back, refocused, with a new plan, and you'll be golden. :)

Thanks a ton for such a thoughtful response! I really, really appreciate it. It means a lot. I do plan to take a hiatus from streaming, but I don't expect to stop playing fire pro, unless I just don't want to play it. I guess I'm trying to shift from obligations to just playing for fun. And hopefully come back strong with fresh ideas and whatnot. But I think you make a valid point, no doubt. I don't want to stop myself from playing if i wanna play by any means. And if I wanna get back into streaming soon, then I will. :) You are very welcome!! And I hope that things have been a little better over the past week or so. That shift from obligation to just playing for fun is so necessary but it's difficult. The dividing line between "wow, I really love this story I came up with and can't wait to write it" vs. "ugh, so now I have to write this idea into a full promo" isn't always so clear. Like for me - I've always booked my big angles/stories in advance and try to work backward. That gives me the opportunity to have things build to the conclusion I want. But the problem is that I often run these ideas in my head for a long time before I finally get the chance to actually write it out. So my execution of the idea may fall short due to either forgetting some stuff (despite writing down a lot) or just kind of cooling off on the concept. It's in my head so much that I lose interest in it and want to do something else. So then it feels like a chore to write out the original story with the same energy as when I initially had the idea. It was fun when I first had it but then it becomes a chore or obligation to finish it. The line isn't always so clear when it's crossed but hiatuses often make it clearer to me. I think sometimes it can help to just sit down with all of your planned stories/matches/processes and ask yourself what do you actually want to do now vs. what did you want to do weeks/months ago that you are just kind of holding onto because it was the plan. And that isn't just for stories either but for your actual method of storytelling: whether it be Twitch or video matches or write-ups, etc. I sometimes "lock" myself in a certain way of doing things based on nostalgia, inertia, etc rather than ask myself how do I want to present shows and how can I actually get them done. I absolutely have a preferred format for my shows - but it's the format I used like 20 years ago and I don't have the time/energy to do things the same way. So I have to make decisions to maximize what I want out of the experience while trimming the fat of what I no longer need. For now though - I think the most important thing is having fun broader than Fire Pro. On any given day, ask yourself what you want to do with your time off. Maybe it's a different game or a TV show or something without a screen entirely. Maybe it's a different wrestling game or a new way of enjoying Fire Pro. About a year or two ago, I had gotten burned out on Fire Pro but still wanted to play it. So I tried something different. I downloaded some real life edits and put them into 1P matches similar to how I played Fire Pro when I initially got into it. It was a fun two week experience and it got me back into the game. At the end of the day, Fire Pro is just another one of many potential experiences to have for enjoyment. Also really liked what Makar said about juggling a lot of brands. He and I have talked at length about this as we both tend to experience e-fed mitosis LOL. Both of us have promotions that continually sub-divide into different shows/brands. Even during my hiatus over the past few months, I've still had ideas that essentially create new programs/shows within my existing e-feds. The ideas are fun but the execution can be really exhausting. Maybe you just want to stick with one brand for a while when you get back into things. And really like what Will said about the community being here and not setting expectations if they are causing you stress. They could actively be getting in the way of your productivity too once you get back into that mode. If anything, maybe expectations should be based around direct/measurable fun experiences you can have with Fire Pro rather than e-fed milestones. Like instead of "I'll create edits for the next show" it can be like "I'll play a few matches with my favorite edits" or "I'll run some simmed Battle Royales because they can be entertaining" before you even resume using Fire Pro for fed purposes. Again, hope you are feeling much better in general and about these specific Fire Pro related things.

Hey folks! I have some updates to share, and they may be a bit on the long winded side.
The first is that I am returning with a Blue Thunder Pro show. The reason being that TIPWF's Cowboy Johnston is currently on his retirement tour, and I didn't want his career to end without him and George Radley having a chance to mix it up. So next Tuesday, August 9th, at 10:30PM EST we will be running a show on twitch. More details to come soon.
The second, is less good news. I have lost a lot of my data, and while I thankfully am not starting from scratch, I have lost a lot of work. Meaning, a lot of stuff will have to be redone, and will likely not end up quite the same.
This will mostly affect my roster, and especially the newer shows. Because of this, my shows other than Blue Thunder Pro may take a while to get back and running.
For now we will not yet be returning to a regular weekly schedule, and instead we will just be running shows as I am able.
Thank you for your support!
