NWA "Great American Bash"

1. The Powers of Pain defeated The Steiner Brothers at 7:26
Scott Steiner was trying to execute a Frankensteiner on The Warlord. The Warlord countered with a Powerbomb and Scott had the wind knocked out of him.
2. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael "PS" Hayes and Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy) defeated The Russians (Ivan and Nikita Koloff w/Krusher Kruschev) at 14:12
Terry Gordy planted Nikita Koloff with the Powerbomb
3. The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Randy rose w/Jim Cornette) defeated The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy Garvin and Buddy Roberts w/Precious) at 12:57
This match was wild, with action spilling outside the ring. While Rose and Garvin were the legal men, Condrey knocked out Garvin with a stiff outside that resulted in the Freebirds getting counted out.
4. One Man Gang and Kevin Sullivan defeated Brian Pillman and Mike Rotunda at 14:14
Pillman and Rotunda tried...but Sullivan was too vicious and Gang was too big. The match ended whern One Man Gang used the 747 Splash on Rotunda.
5. Six Man Tag: S.D. Jones, Rufus R. Jones and Mr. Amazing battled "Big " John Studd, "Terrific" Terry Taylor and "Dirty" Dick Slater to a Time Limit Draw at 20:00
Studd has had issues with all three of his opponents. Slater and Taylor were reluctant tag partners, and they couldn't work well as a team.
6. NWA US Tag Title Match: The Rock N' Roll Express defeated The Midnight Express at 23:30
Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson were up against "Sweet" Stan Lane and Beautiful Bobby Eaton. The Midnights had Jim Cornette in their corner. It was another wild match up with double teams, tag partners making numerous saves and some fast paced action. One moment saw Robert land a big monkey flip then follow up with a thunderous running dropkick as he charges from the corner. In the end, The Rock N' Roll Express won with a Double Dropkick at 23:30 as Ricky pinned Stan Lane.
The fans were estatic as the Rock N' Roll Express hugged in the ring and held their titles up for the fans too see.
7. NWA World Television Title: Lex Luger defeated Sting at 14:44
Before the match, when asked his thoughts on who'd win; Luger asked a question in response. He asked "When people use the phrase, 'The Total Package,' to whom are they referring?" When Bob Caudle said it was Lex Luger, Lex nodded and said that he would win because while Sting was good, he wasn't the total package.
Luger showed off his strength as he knocked Sting down, and also escaped from submissions. The match went outside where Lex applied the Torture Rack. Back in the ring, Luger used forearms, clotheslines and finally put Sting away with the Torturerack.
8. NWA World Tag Team Titles: The Legion of Doom- The Road Warriors defeated the Minnesota Wrecking Crew at 24:58
To ensure a decisive and fair outcome; both Paul Ellering and J.J. Dillion were barred from ringside. The match was action packed as both teams did not like each other. With a 60 minute time limit, it was not going to be a draw like their earlier encounter. The Road Warriors had the power advantage, the Crew had the submission advantage and both trams had a mean streak. The Road Warriors were able to double team and Hawk scored the win at 24:58 by hitting a Diving Lariat to the back of Arn Anderson's head, knocking him out cold. After the match, "Precious" Paul came to the ring to celebrate with his team as Animal and Hawk posed while standing on turnbuckles.
9. NWA United States Title: Tully Blanchard defeated Dustin Rhodes at 11:17
Once again, ringside was barred off. Tully took control of the match and while Dustin fought hard, Tully made relatively quick work of the youngster. He knocked Dustin out with a Brainbuster and secured the NWA US Title.
After the match, the announce team of Gordon Solie, Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone wondered what effect this would have on Dusty's mental state going into the main event.
10. NWA World's Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair defeated "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes at 15:22
Flair and Rhodes came out exchanging chops and elbows. Dusty got a near-fall with the Bionic Elbow. Flair tried the Figure Four but Dusty escaped. It went back and forth until Flair got a Small Package, and a handful of tights to get the pinfall!
As the title was put around Flair's waist, Tony Schiavone got in the ring to congratulate him. Flaie got on the mic:
"Dusty! Go check on your boy! Tully knocked him out, and I took the World's Title! You've got nothin'! Go back and check on your boy! Now Tony! Omni! Atlanta! Happy 4th of July! The Nature Boy did what he said he would do! I walked that aisle, got in the ring...and took care of business! I am the champion, the best that this great sport has to offer! Jim Crockett promotions...the NWA...you have the best representing you! Ric Flair! The Horsemen! We've got the two biggest titles! Now...4th of July...fireworks celebrating this great country...I'm gonna head to the bar, I'm gonna be at the Marriott and there is where the REAL fireworks will go off...ALL! Night! LONG! WHOOOOOO!"
As Flair left the ring, Solie and Ross thanked everyone for joining them live for the Great American Bash and told everyone to tune in to NWA Pro Wrestling as there would be a huge annoucement about a new title!
