NWA Pro Wrestling
Aired 6.19 from Wilmington, NC
Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie welcomed fans who were tuning into the show. They said they they had 6 big matches on the card including a main event match of Harley Race versus Ronnie Garvin. Before the mat action started, they had a taped interview with "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
Vignette: Background is a gym where the Horsemen are working out. Ric Flair is dressed in his trunks and t-shirt.
Bob Caudle: "I'm here at the Horsemen's Gym in Charlotte. Ric Flair, on the 6.12 episode of World Championship Wrestling, you and Horsemen beat down Dustin Rhodes before the match could begin! You owe the NWA, the fans and Dustin and explanation!"
Ric Flair: "Let me set you straight Caudle! You don't mouth off to Ric Flair, especially when you're in the Nature Boy's back yard!"
"Now, let's get it straight. Dustin Rhodes! You're a good kid! I have absolutely nothing against you. In fact, I wish you nothing...but...the best. But you see, even though you're a smart kid, you made a dumb move. That was thinking that you could get in the ring with the Nature Boy!"
"You need to leave the NWA, go back to Texas and take up your grand-pappy's plumbing business!"
"Dusty! I've been hearing rumors that you want me for what the Horsemen did to your boy. Rethink it pal. Don't write checks that you can't cash. The Horsemen are the elite athletes in this sport. We are going to run the NWA, and we are going to run our opponents in the ground! Take your kid and go home! Leave now and you won't get hurt. Otherwise...the Horsemen will put you both in the hospital, and you can have matching beds!"
"Now get out of here Caudle, I need to finish exercising before I have a real work out! WHOOOO!"
1. Rick Steamboat and Jay Youngblood versus The Russians (Ivan and Nikita Koloff) ended in a Draw at 20:00.
2. "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert versus Sgt. Slaughter ended in a Draw at 20:00.
Another vignette played, this time Gordon Solie interviewed Harley Race regarding the main event:
Gordon Solie: "Mr. Race, give your thoughts going into the main event of NWA Pro Wrestling against Rugged Ronnie Garvin."
Harley Race: "Mr. Garvin, and I use the term 'Mister' loosely, you and I have been mixed up in something. what started off as a heated tag match is growing into something that is personal. That's a huge problem...for you. When I'm in a business mindset, I'm a dangerous wrestler. However, when I take things personally, I become a killer. You are testing fate, and you will see what happens when you push things too far."
3. Midnight Express ("Sweet" Stan Lane/"Beautiful Bobby Eaton w/Jim Cornette and "Big" Bubba Rogers) versus Ron D Lishus and Rufus R. Jones ended in a Draw at 20:00.
After the math, the Midnight Expressed were shocked and upset they couldn't put their opponents away.
4. Big John Studd defeated S.D. Jones at 9:16 with a Clothesline to the back of the head.
After the match Big John Studd continued to stomp on a helpless Jones.
5. Rock N' Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) versus Beer Me (Billy Bob Heartthrob and Bobby Jo Besser) ended ina Draw at 20:00.
6. Harley Race defeated Ronnie Garvin at 11:14 with a Fujiwara Armbar
Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle concluded the program by hyping up NWA World Championship Wrestling at 6:05 pm on WTBS. The main event would be Duty and Dustin Rhodes versus Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard.
