so hi! i'm trans. as if the big ol' "transgender" icons on my nickname in our discord weren't a sign.

i started HRT (hormone replacement therapy) near the end of april, after spending an inordinate amount of time going, "ah, but i could never do this!" i've finally accepted that, nah, i'd be happier not putting on the pretenses of being a dudely dude, or even a guy in touch with my ✨feminine side✨ as i spent a lot of time describing myself as. there was no real tortured past or anything - i just figured out that the reason i was so comfy using feminine personae rather than a masculine name online, outside of firepro and a couple others, should probably have been a sign like a decade ago or more.

so after going by "maikeru" for most of my time online, i've decided it's probably time to start retiring that name as it hasn't really fit me for some time. i've spent a decent amount of time - like more than half of my life - going by "sofia" in a certain other community, so i figure i might as well start using it elsewhere, too!
