I'm a much more mechanical person, so Move Craft came quite easily to me. It took time to learn, but I enjoy it and making moves from seemingly nothing is a lot of fun. I find next to no use for Parts Craft. I've used Move Craft to make my own edits feel entirely unique. I don't think I've created a move yet that anyone can use for a general purpose. *A lot* of my stuff is pretty outlandish and nonsensical. I still haven't bought Parts Crafts. If I had more time and the confidence that I'd be able to use it easily, I would have done it but no to both. It's a miracle I was able to even figure out Move Craft, especially as quickly as I did. And I made some early janky moves but I was very happy with my ability to understand the creation engine itself. Looks like you can teach an old Goose some new tricks 💻🦆 Thanks for the responses guys. I’m glad to know I’m not alone. I am afraid that my time has passed creatively in Fire Pro. Returns was the apex, even if World is clearly the best game in the series. The last statement may be true but it doesn't mean that the one before is accurate. I think a strong case can be made that Returns was the apex for both of us. I can say that almost definitely for me. But even though I haven't produced the comparative quality or volume in FPW that I did in FPR, I've still done some things I'm proud of. More importantly, I still enjoy it whenever I'm able to do it. Your time has not passed creatively in Fire Pro as long as you don't want it to.
But I know how you feel. It's hard remembering what I used to do and accepting less. And sometimes that feeling stops me from playing. But then a worse feeling kicks in: It's really hard not playing FPW at all. When I'm feeling creatively uncertain or drained, I just sim. I just sim with my favorite characters and let the feeling just kind of wash over me. If it's really just a time issue and ideas are flowing, I write them down and get to them later. If it's a creative issue, I start thinking of other things I may want to do. My approach to my major edits is similar but very time-consuming. So if I want to create but don't want to spend 30 minutes mapping out an edit, I'll go simpler. I'll create a rookie edit or a comedy edit. Something along the depth of an FPR edit rather than an FPW edit. Your passion and enjoyment for the game is still there. If it wasn't, you wouldn't be having this reaction to your current paralysis based on Move Craft. I'm writing this to me just as much as I am to you, LordWorm. Both of us need to push Move Craft out of our minds and remember a quote I say to myself every day for every aspect of my life: The perfect is the enemy of the good. We can still have fun with FPW. But measuring it against what we did in FPR won't help us or allow us to have fun now. And, short of time issues, I know we can have fun now with FPW. There, you just made me pep talk myself too. Happy? 😁 P.S. I bet if each of us made one new edit (or ported over one from FPW) but intentionally restricted ourselves to just the default/DLC moves, we'd totally get back in the groove within the second test sim of it. I dunno. I say that now but a few months from now I could have made 100 new EDITs. I really do love Fire Pro and this community. Yeah, the kids are calling that the "Geese cross-over" these days. That's where I complain for a week that I have no time or energy left to do e-fed work than write an RP that takes up 10 pages in MS word 😁 Sometimes I think I do things specifically to spite the part of myself that stops the other part from having fun. No, not just cause I want to have fun but cause I resent the part of me that stops me from having it!! 🤷♂️ Side note: I’ve lost my credentials on Blogger and can no longer access my Blog. Kinda bummed about that. That really sucks 😢 You can't ask them to reset your password?

Like why would someone use my nWo EDITs without the nWo crafted logo when they could just use someone else’s that crafted the logo? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I look at Move Craft and Parts Craft as an extension to the game and less a requirement, personally. If I see moves I like, I'll give them to the appropriate edit. I work with original characters only, so it's easier for me to say and do. That said, I don't have to give edits custom moves if they don't fit. Parts Craft is really there for me so I can download other people's edits, but I'm *very very* selective about downloading edits with custom parts as it's kind of a crap-shoot if they'll work properly or if I'll need to duplicate the edit and assign the parts to them.

So i stepped away from the game right before Edit and Move craft became available. I honestly don’t know where to start at this point. My skills as a creator was getting the most out of the limitations in the base game. Did the crafts ruin the game? Does everyone have to have each craft item to subscribe to an EDIT? does the crafts automatically come with the wrestlers when subscribed? I don’t know if I should even start up again. I don't think it's ruined the game at all - but I can understand how it kind of goes against the old philosophy of the games, where you have a close facsimile to whomever you want to make, but not a perfect 1:1 representation, down to the individual quirks of how they perform even basic moves. Yeah, you do have to subscribe to the craft items in order to use an edit. On PS4, you have to log into a web browser, like on your PC, and add the craft item entries on FPW-NET as related items; same as on Steam, though using Carlzilla's mod pack will automatically append your workshop upload with all required items, both the DLC packs and move/part craft items. Unfortunately, it doesn't just automatically subscribe you to them, but in both cases, if the moves/parts are listed as required for the edit, it will warn whomever is subscribing that the edit is unusable unless you also grab those items, with links provided. All that said, I don't think you should give up. Nothing is stopping you from working with the game's limitations nonetheless - as it is, the DLC for the game is pricy if you don't grab it altogether on a sale... $50 for the season pass/60 for the season pass content plus the NJPW wrestlers on PC; another $40 or so for the STARDOM wrestlers, $20 for entrance craft which was kinda insane, but is arguably the least important piece of DLC - or if you didn't buy it as it came out so that the sticker shock doesn't have a chance to set in.

You’re right OG I just need to sim. I haven’t simmed in ages. I haven’t updated my spreadsheets either. That could be just what I need. I can be super burned out and not even think I want to look at the game but one good sim can turn it all around. Give some tag team matches a try as those can be really enjoyable and mask any FPW logic issues 😎 Battle Royales can be really fun too. I start every play session with a Battle Royale to "scramble" the RNG. Yesterday I even made new Titles for non-canon matches that I just run for fun. I thought that would encourage me to sim casually more and build my own unofficial head canon like I did back in the day before my e-feds went corporate lol. Honestly my fear of move and parts craft isn’t that I couldn’t learn it or use it it’s that if I DONT use it my EDITs won’t be worth the download/subscribers. So I don’t even want to make any new ones if I’m not gonna utilize the crafts. I don't think that fear is warranted because people will still want your stuff based on your unique style. Also, I don't even own Parts Crafts so I can't download any edits that use Parts Crafts. I also still regularly download edits that don't have Move made from Move Crafts. (I'd say I regularly upload them but I haven't uploaded any since uh... yikes 😭 ) Like why would someone use my nWo EDITs without the nWo crafted logo when they could just use someone else’s that crafted the logo? Maybe I’m overthinking it. Because they are yours and you have crafted them with care 😄 Some people also still prefer the "Fire Pro" style of simulating graphics over the literal accuracy of some logos. I'd use your edits even if they didn't have the nWo logo on the chest. I'd use your edits even if they did have the oWn logo on the chest 😁 That really sucks 😢 You can't ask them to reset your password? Some management mode and some leagues. It’s very satisfying watching me stuff in action. I like to have a Battle Royale championship belt. So I’ll run 8 battle royales, take the winner of the first 8 and put them against each other. Winner gets the belt. (I just make sure the winner wins a singles match in the belt mode. I actually simmed a bunch last night. Some management mode and some leagues. It’s very satisfying watching me stuff in action. Really glad to hear that! 😄 Sometimes its really fun to just watch your edits like a fan rather than a creator. And if you haven't simmed in a while, you can put yourself in that perspective. Then you can really appreciate what you have done and be freshly inspired to create new edits or modify old ones. I like to have a Battle Royale championship belt. So I’ll run 8 battle royales, take the winner of the first 8 and put them against each other. Winner gets the belt. (I just make sure the winner wins a singles match in the belt mode. Yeah, I use singles mode (and a dummy 1P) to "correct" any issues with belt modes. honestly I hadn’t considered that not everyone, likely most don’t have the DLC. I bet my EDITs would be welcome. They really would be 😎 Also remember that many people who do own Parts Craft will still download edits that don't have custom parts. I certainly still download edits who don't use Move Craft moves. Yeah it’s still around. I fear after enough inactivity they’ll purge it. Maybe you can still download the information itself before they purge it.

Yep, plenty of people do appreciate not having to potentially clog up their save with too many moves, and will not complain about sticking with the default moves. I don't want to force too many moves on my uploaded edits for the most part, with some exceptions(I had to create a whole collection for the stuff I outfitted Fedor Emeilanenko with, and put quite a few on Adam Cole and Hangman Page), and a lot of my originals have probably twice the custom moves locally than they do on the Workshop for that reason.
I don't use any parts craft on anything, never been much a fan of the NJPW style heads with their contrast with the classic style, I got the dlc so I could use people's originals that use it, but I much prefer the art of approximating things with the parts we already have. Great stuff out there, including some quality generic parts that I might eventually look into, but I'm happy with just using default tools for attires.
Nothing wrong with taking full advantage of the possibilities, but there's also a benefit in sticking with what you know will work.

I made an AEW Sting yesterday. I was real rusty but it felt good to get back in it.
I’m gonna work on porting my fictional EDITs. That should get me back up to speed.
Thanks again for the inspiration guys. I’ll always be a part of this community.

Thank you for the update! I was wondering over the past few days how it has gone for you!
I'm really glad that you had fun doing it 😄
As long as the whole process is fun again, then you are back into things.
The rust will definitely melt off within another edit or two.
I've slowly gotten back into move making but for fun and with an eye toward actually using the move for specific edits. I'm hoping to do more with edit making and revising in January too 😎

I LOVE the Move Craft. I haven't made a new edit in months and only sparingly modified those that I have. Unlike other people in this thread, it doesn't real bother me though. For me saying Move Craft ruined the game because it distracts you from making Edits is like saying Edit Mode ruined the game because it distracts you from playing One Night Dream matches. It's just a different mode to enjoy in the game and the appeal just like Edit Mode is being creative. There is just a gorillion different things to do in Move Craft and the results usually come out quick and satisfying, hence why it's so addictive as opposed to the hours long tweaking and testing of edits which always leaves you wanting to improve things a little further. Move Craft also gives us the chance to improve certain things that have always annoyed us in the base game - improving the usability of certain moves, tweaking moves so they leave the opponent in a different position etc. The same goes for Parts Craft - I have messed around with it, but I haven't made much simply because making parts takes so darn long and the results are often not as satisfying. I will probably go back to making edits soon since there's only about a dozen or so moves that I still want in my game - my output has gotten smaller in the last couple weeks simply due to almost everything that I would want to make already being made.
If you are skeptical of the craft modes, I'd suggest to just ignore them for now. 99% of edits don't need custom anything, since the in-game creation mode is already stupidly vast to begin with. And when subscribing to edits on the workshop, an edit requiring you to download 20 other things so you can use it is usually more annoying than cool.

I actually love Move Craft too. It's incredibly fun to make new moves. Like you say, it's a totally separate mode that you can enjoy just by itself. Even when I complain about my usage of the game these days, I'll notice a move when simming and decide to take it into Move Craft to alter it. It's just really addictive.
The issue I had wasn't so much with Move Craft itself, but the way in which my usage of Move Craft kind of warped my expectations for edit mode. I allowed myself to start thinking differently of edit mode than I ever had before by mentally requiring heavy Move Craft production in order for my edits to be as good as they could be. And that meant that I was basically wrestling with the Infinite Corridor of edits ( 🧛♂️ ). I agree that Move Craft can be used responsible while also using edit mode. I just wasn't doing it. And it was ruining any chance of making edits (or even modifying existing ones) again until I took a few steps back to re-orient my thinking and treat Move Craft as an occasional "plus" rather than a necessity for edits.
Also, given that I didn't have much time for any Fire Pro mode, I started feeling guilty I was spending too much time on Move Craft and none on edit mode whatsoever. But again, this isn't a knock on Move Craft itself. The game is unquestionably better as a result. I just pretty much gave myself a Pandora's Box/Monkey's Paw (Goose's Beak?) experience that messed with my ability to see edit mode the same way as I always did in the past. But I'm recovering from that and hoping I can start making edits again next year.
