Sad news. He was 60 years old, and apparently died of natural causes. Now the Road Warriors can dish out the Doomsday Device in heaven:

2020 sucks LOD was my favorite tag team of all time I’m blessed to have watched them in their prime AWA and JCP. Sad day to be a wrestling fan from the 80s . These guys were the absolute best ever

Road Warriors were a force. It was weird, only a few days ago I was playing Wrestlefest, and while it was rotating through the attract mode, there's the Road Warriors promo scenes with Mean Gene, and I was thinking "at least Animal's still around." Sad times.

The Road Warriors were part of my early exposure to professional wrestling, in an ad for the WCW NES game. Made some kind of impression on 5-year-old me.

I remember being a kid and seeing pictures of these ANIMALS in football pads with giant spikes, the face paint, the haircuts, the attitude, and thought who the hell are these guys? then I saw them work. The power and physicality in the ring, they laid their shit in stiff just like I’ve always loved to see in pro wrestling, and back in the day, the doomsday device (the name of that move alone...) was shit you didn’t see every day. Those two are also my earliest memory of realizing what being JACKED actually meant, they were absolute monsters. Hard to believe that in less than a month Hawk will have been gone for seventeen years. They burned white hot and left too early, they left an impression, and won’t be truly gone until the last wrestling fan speaks the name Road Warriors. Thanks for the memories and rest easy. 🙁

This is a decent big man match, it’s pretty cool to see these beefy monsters all in the ring at the same time. Seeing Animal gorilla press Ivan Koloff INTO THE DARKNESS (6:36ish) is pretty awesome. I remember thinking that move and a stalling vertical suplex (RIP Davey Boy) were pretty bad ass power moves as a kid, and they’re still impressive today. Side note, look at the SIZE of these monsters, I know everyone was on the gas HARD back then, but shit, they’re legit freaks, the kind of shit you run away from when you see them headed your way! I would have loved to be in the crowd to experience Road Warrior Pop. Live events are a trip for any of you that haven’t experienced it. Seeing guys like Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and the like play the crowd is crazy, some of them have such a special connection with the crowd, I’d have loved to felt that with animal and hawk! Very fun stuff to look back at, please enjoy!
