Input controls don't work inside game suddenly?

Anyone had this issue? 

I have been playing regularly with no issue.  Suddenly today I boot the game up on PC.  I'm able to get to the menu, but then I can't scroll or select anything.  Mouse pointer moves but doesn't click.  Keyboard and gamepad do nothing.

Tried rebooting, loading up another game and it works fine.  End up having to tab out of FPW and close it from the desktop.
