I can’t for the life of my figure out why I can’t learn to love this game . I been looking for long time for a game that I could have any wrestler I want in it I find it (I only watch the fights don’t play) and still the fighting system irks me . The amount of time I spend staring at the game looking at all the wrestlers I found and how I could basically recreate every wrestling event ever and yet I can’t motivate to do it makes me sad honestly

I don't find recreating past events to be all that compelling personally, maybe that's what it is.
If I was going to use real life wrestlers/edits, I'd probably end up booking fantasy rosters, shows, events, or whatever else you can think of - "Dream Matches" or "What If" matches, I suppose. Shawn Michaels vs Andre the Giant, Rey Mysterio vs El Santo, Doink the Clown vs Kuishinbo Kamen, Terry Funk vs Jimmy Havoc, etc. Stuff like that. It's your game, the possibilities are quite literally endless. Your imagination is your only limitation. Hell, it doesn't even have to pertain to just wrestlers. It can be wacky stuff like Optimus Prime vs The Rock, or Jason Vorhees vs Kane or something. The sillier the better, honestly.
You could also build your own fantasy roster from scratch. World-building is a ton of fun for me. I've built a 250+ edit roster and it all revolves around my own fantasy setting. It's a creative outlet for me. I decide what happens, I decide what stories I want to tell. It doesn't have to be a "realistic wrestling simulation" if you don't want it to be. You can have regular tights-and-boots guys face off against aliens and stuff if you really want to. I even have robots on my roster. That's the best part of having your own made up promotion. It can be literally anything.
That's why I've always enjoyed these games. I can do whatever I want, how I want, as long as it's able to be created in the game. There's some certain limitations, but if you give it time and experiment with it, just about anything is possible.

I originally wanted to create a fed with all the WWF guys from the 80’s and 90’s as then was my favorite time for wrestling but your right I think when I do that o have expectations that are unrealistic . For example I want hogan to drop the leg drop when he is about to win or see the warrior dominate the honky tonk man. Things that are impossible to guarantee. Although I will say this . I was looking to see some crazy weird moves and I ran a match of the young buck versus hybrid 2 from AEW and let’s just say I saw some moves I had never seen before which was awesome

When you say stories you tell us this something you just write down for your own knowledge ? Cause I think that is part of my issue I can’t force a certain person to interfere to add to stories they don’t go in ring and cut promo like they do in wwe2k19 and such . Is this all just something you write down as if it did happen?

I've been running a real-world eFed based on my favorite indy promotion PWG. I make all of my own edits so I know exactly what each edit can do. You can easily do the same for 1990s WWF. Just do your research and understand what the limitations are. It is absolutely possible to get Hogan to win with a leg drop or have an Ultimate Warrior dominate the Honky Tonk Man. None of that is even slightly difficult to accomplish. Sure, Fire Pro is random sometimes but you can pretty much guarantee some things if you know how to make an edit. Just take the time to read every post and thread you can, and you'll eventually figure something out.
I run a Fire Pro discord that is mostly for PS4 users but it has a ton of PC folks and is much more active than this board. Also easy to ask little questions there if you need advice instead of making a thread here. Link is in my signature.

Is this all just something you write down as if it did happen? "Storytelling" was a generalization. You can build your edits to tell a story in the ring if you want to. Some people introduce a story and follow through the storyline based on the results of the matches. Fire Pro's matches are RNG dependant, even if you try to eliminate as many undesirable results you don't want to happen.

It's because you suck and like bad games. Sorry to say.

Shade aside, if you haven't tried the ModPack in the Discord link at the top of the forums page, I would recommend that. It does open up the game a bit in terms of creative control. I've used quite a bit of it personally in my own e-feds to spice things up.

One thing that I have to do is drop expectations that I'm going to be able to simulate American wrestling style. This is a Japanese game and it simulates Japanese wrestling. Although I loved Fire Pro going back as far as 1997, I didn't really "get" it until I became a fan of 90's All Japan wrestling and noticed how even American wrestlers worked a different style there. If you can think of your edits working a different style of wrestling then it might grab you better.

I would actually argue the appeal to me is how Fire Pro can handle multiple styles better than any other wrestling game. Want to make a lucha and a brawler? You can- and you can make them wrestle true to those styles unlike 2K games where regardless everyone wrestles the same boring way.
There are some limitations related to if you want 90's American wrestling where everything builds to one specific finisher, but its also not impossible to construct an edit that's pretty close.

I didn't quite get into the logic side of things until I made a few boxing edits based on an old PS1 game, then I started to slowly understand it, though I can still make edits that are just bad. I just think it is cool that you can make wrestling, MMA and boxing styles that work well.
Now with the move craft it has added another aspect that I enjoy, with some realistic catch wrestling stuff added in, to over the top video game stuff.
