March 1, 2020 went down as the greatest night in the history in the sport known as professional wrestling.
Ground-breaking news was announced as Bushiroad, the parent company of New Japan Pro Wrestling and Wonder Ring Stardom along with the Asato Super Conglomerate based out of Saitama; announced a joint venture to revive World Championship Wrestling.
In 2001, after the merger of Time Warner and AOL, WCW was sold to rival Vince McMahon, owner of then WWF now WWE. With the purchase of smaller organization, ECW, Vince McMahon effectively had a monopoly on pro wrestling in the United States.
While various groups have tried to fill the gap, they were seen as niche companies or floundered due bad business decisions.
Nibohiko Asato, head of the Asato Super Conglomerate, stated that the investment split was 85-15 with the ASC being the bigger investor. Asato did state that while exact details and amounts will remain undisclosed, the ASC-Bushiroad partnership has effectively leased all WCW intellectual properties as well as physical properties such as championship belts. WCW and NJPW would work together with cross promotion to expose both WCW and NJPW talent to American and Japanese audiences in a spirit of mutual co-operation.
Asato did state that as part of the agreement with WWE, WCW would not position itself in any way that would construed as a rival company. Asato went on to explain that when it came to WCW programming, all events would be pre-taped. WCW Nitro would return to TNT on Monday nights, but would air at 6pm Eastern. Programming would also include WCW Thunder on Thursdays and WCW Saturday Night. There would be 6 yearly Pay-Per-View events with 6 Clash of the Champions specials.
The first episode of WCW Nitro is slated to air on May 4, 2020.

WCW Thunder 5.7.2020
Tenay and Schiavone welcomed everyone to WCW Thunder. They said it was going to be a great night of wrestling action.
At the start of the show, Hollywood Golden, Outlaw Crash and Drunk rose came out as the nWo theme played. Hollywood thanked than fans for being in attendance. He said that he wasn't trying to pander to anyone. The simple fact was, the fans allowed the wrestler to earn a living. Hollywood said that the nWo would not try to antagonize the fanes but they wouldn't try to please them. Hollywood said that either way, no matter what the nWo did, some people would cheer and some would boo.
Hollywood said that the nWo were winners, and fans would either boo because they were jealous losers; or they would cheer the nWo, because the fans were losers who wanted to identify with winners! Hollywood said his opponent in the main even would be a loser like everyone watching from the stands, and everyone watching at home.
1. Nacho Libre def. Handsome B Wonderful, Ramses and Tigre Dorado at 12:22 when Nacho used El Cangrejo on HBW.
This match was billed as "First Fall" match, all four men were in the ring at the same time. While Ramses and Tigre were in the heat of battle, Nacho locked in El Cangrjo (Crab) and made HBW submit.
2. Victory Musashi def. Mr. X at 12:33 with an Enzuigiri.

The Leathers were obviously inspired by a famous horror movie. They were also revealed to be members of a new stable called the Nocturnal Brotherhod. No one gave Judo Jim or Big Fella a chance. By the end of the match, the crowd were solidly behind Judo Jim and Big Fella.
4. Outlaw Crash and Drunk Rose vs. Electric Joy Boy and Lunch Lady Stan ended in a 20:00 Time Limit Draw.

Before the Main Event, Denis D'Etampes was asked how he thought his chances were going in against a former 2x SWA World Champ. Denis said this wasn't SWA, it was WCW and WCW was going to be a place where any wrestler with a will could overcome any odds.
5. Hollywood Golden versus Denis D'Etampes ended in a 20:00 Time Limit Draw.
Denis would not back down from the power or cheating tactics of Hollywood. Denis Hhung in there and got several near falls himself.
