Jaeger Flippo
My first edit in FPR. I think at some point everyone has made an edit that is them or someone they wish they could be. Jaeger has existed, in various forms, since my early Sega Genesis days. He has been a star forward for Detroit Red Wings. He was an outfielder/pitcher/short stop for the Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners. He even had a short run for the Hanshin Tigers. His college football career is legendary for the University of Alabama/University of Michigan, were he holds most passing, running and total sack records. He has been a WWE, ECW, WCW, TNA, and AAA world champion. He has ruled Russia, China, England, Japan, the Netherlands, and a small kingdom in 1600s Germany through the ages.
Of course, when I got FPR, Jaeger/Weston was going to be my first creation. I learned how to make the first few edits by fooling around with some of DJKM's save collections. I don't know why I selected Samoa Joe that day, I think it was my love of the muscle buster as a move. Jaeger's first design was more of a hoss big boy. It didn't feel right now, the design lost some weight and over a couple weeks turned into what you see today.
In terms of Jaegers design, I was going for a simple design. Something you might have seen back in the territory days. I like when wrestlers wear different style boots in the ring, so I went with the cowboy boots. This was also the start of my overuse of black and yellow in most of my edits.
The name Jaeger came from just watching Pacific Rim in theaters. I thought the word was cool and surprised still that its not used more. I also liked the idea of a somewhat normal sized wrestler, Jaeger in my mind is built like a Bret or Shawn, fighting against larger more aggressive wrestlers.
At the beginning, his moveset was Samoa Joe with more kicks. What if Shawn Michaels had more power moves. Overtime I moved away from the power moveset to more kicks and submissions. Jaeger being the first of the eventual Flippo family, a lot of his moves are present in Bill, Gordon, William and Leather Flippo as well.
He might be the only edit of mine I would consider close to being done. There isn't much more I can add to him. I did make some changes for his retirement run including adding the muscle buster and a powerbomb. Why it took me 6 years to think of adding the "Jaeger Bomb" to his arsenal eludes me. I think Officer Brightly had the idea in a chat one evening a couple months before the Jaeger-Senator match.

Now for some history.
Jaeger Flippo
MCW/LLCW-i/TSP, Heavy, Face
Jaeger is and was the youngest person ever to join the MCW dojo at 10 years old. His father, Bill Flippo, was the owner and head booker for MCW at the time and thought the story of a 10 year old in the dojo would bring in some money. Despite the press, Jaeger had already been training for the last 2 years in the families backyard along with his older brothers. Jaeger has 4 other brothers, only one of which is still currently wrestling, Leather Flippo. The Flippo family and Leather Flippo have been fighting for some time and often refer to Leather as simply a "cousin". Of the 3 remaining older brothers, 2 retired and work as a librarian and restaurant owner respectfully, while the last brother no one is sure what happened. The Flippo family is very tight lipped about the subject.
Jaeger made his debut (1996) defending his father, Bill Flippo, after Great Oni severely damaged Bill's arm. This interaction would lead to a 15+ year rivalry between Oni and friends against Jaeger and the Flippo Family. It is surprising to many that it took nearly 9 years before the two had a singles match against each other. Keep in mind, Jaeger was only 11 years old when we chased Oni away after attacking his father.
Between his debut and his first singles match against Oni (1996-2005), Jaeger traveled various wrestling companies the world over including a long run for View Japan and Big Germany in their Junior division. He would return from time to time and wrestle in Alabama. When Jaeger returned full time to MCW in 2005, he returned to his feud with Oni. Finally having a singles match that year. The match ended in a 60 minute time limit draw, and won MCW match of the year honors. If you ask long term MCW/TSP fans, this was the match that made them life long fans of Jaeger. The feud with Great Oni would last another two years, finally ending (for now) when Jaeger finally was able to beat him and also win his first of four MCW Heavyweight titles.
From 2007 until 2014, Jaeger was usually near the top of the card and one of the biggest draws in MCW. Around this time King Kitsune, Saturn, Lord Van High and Tiger Prince II and III retired, leaving Jaeger and the popular juniorweight division to fill the gap. Jaeger would feud with during this time with the Jaguar Legacy, RED KING, Lee Gold Jr, Wyndum Holler and Master Daddy.
In 2014, Bill Flippo retired from back office and booking duties, leaving it to his son Jaeger. Under Jaegers guidance, Thursday Night Combat grows into a ratings juggernaut for WSFA across most of central Alabama and various stations across the Southeast. It was during this time that expansion further into the Carolinas and west into Texas rubs several talents the wrong way most notably Mr. Liquid, who leaves and forms LCW (Liquid Combat Wrestling) in Birmingham, AL. Jaeger also revives the women's division that had been lagging since the 90s into its own promotion, Blood Blossom Wrestling.
Things were going well within MCW, but tragedy struck on Jan. 1 2016. Following a show in North Carolina, the MCW company jet crashed into the Smoky Mountains. Out of the 23 wrestlers/staff and flight crew, there are only five survivors, one of which is Jaeger Flippo. Flippo’s back and legs were broken, leading him to be bedridden for nearly 9 months. It was during this time that the Flippo family sold MCW to TNBC. TNBC renamed MCW to LLCW-i and restarted the promotion from the ground up. Jaeger would return to the ring by October of that same year, albeit slower and lacking passion. For the next several years, Jaeger fought with TNBC producers over what would make LLCW-i better, but was ignored. TNBC would run LLCW-i into the ground, causing what was the territory that was MCW to shrink down to just central Alabama.
By early 2018, LLCW-i was dead. TNBC sold the rights, footage and territory back to Jaeger, Hanshin Tiger, Super Kakita, and Tiger Trillions. It was during the signing ceremony in front of reporters that Jaeger realized his time in the spotlight was coming to an end. Jaeger waited until June of 2018 to announce his retirement plans, which included a tour of the world. Jaeger's last match came on September 29th, 2018 against Senator Steve Phillips and is regarded the best Jaeger match since before 2016.
Since his retirement, Jaeger been a fan favorite referee, talent scout and takes care of merchandising for TSP. Jaeger has also considered running for office in Montgomery. Jaeger is often asked if his retirement match is truly his last. Reporters cite that with him being only 35 years old and his fathers history of "retiring", as reasons for asking. Jaeger always says that "his mind is willing but the flesh is not", often with a wink before moving on. Whether or not Jaeger returns to action, I hope he does not personally, fans will also see Jaeger as "Eternal"
