Is there an English translation for the game anywhere? Either as a hacked ROM or a patch? Obviously don't link to it as it's against the rules if it exists, I'm just looking for confirmation on whether it's out there somewhere.

I looked a couple of years back I couldn't track one down, there's a full translation on Game FAQs which does the job, I played along with it & enjoyed the mode

Don't think there's a translation patch, but there is a translation FAQ on GameFAQs. There's also a save file floating around that will unlock everything including the full features in the Edit Mode.

Under the username fire_pro_fan, I wrote the Special guide a few years ago and provided photos of how to get the final edit points via Special's ranking mode within these forums. The Story mode still needs a proper translation. Tiger and a handful of their peers was working on a translation years ago. No idea if they ever finished.
