It's been a long time coming, but it's necessary: we're gonna reboot the Women's Championship Division!
So! HOW will we do that?
What is the Women's Championship? - The Women's Championship was introduced to the FPCPP in the very early 2010's as the Joshivision Championship.
Laying dormant for years, I'd recently revived it for a limited run with 2 Title matches at the ARENA Rising and MILESTONE: Alliance Rising supershows.
With most of the roster's handlers either no longer present, or no longer using their old Joshivision edit in the division, a reboot and refresh is ripe for the picking.
What are the stipulations? - Match stipulations are flexible, but non-standard matches only take place on special occasions. (Cage matches will be allowed, but only on special occasions)
Who qualifies?
1) Women who are included on the Official Roster Collection. (If you haven't signed up to officially join the ORC, do so on this thread.) Women's Division edits will still be eligible for the Cruiserweight and World Championships.
2) Your edit adheres to the criteria of the Official Roster (no Cement, and no Cement Logic -- we're looking for good matches over edits specifically designed to win them), but with a 160-165pt (and under) limit instead of 200.
In addition, edits must be set as Female/Female?, Weight Class set to Junior, Size must be Women's, Small, or Medium (no Large or Giant allowed), only maximum of Level-1 Special Skills are allowed (no Level-2 or -3 Special Skills allowed), and no Striking Criticals are allowed.
3) Edits from the Free Agent thread will NOT be eligible or used for this division UNLESS their handlers manually sign them up in the above ORC thread, as the Free Agents will already be populating other divisions (such as the ANARCHY and Battlefront divisions) to fill them out.
4) Of course, make sure to link to your edit's Workshop page when you sign them up. :)
NOTE: It's NOT necessary to actually RUN any fed for you to sign up edits, since edit sign-ups can simply be "I'll sign up edit X", or "I'll sign up edits X, Y, and Z", or even "I'll sign up the whole roster of my fed".
On that particular note, if you DO sign up your whole fed's roster for the division, booking your edits might have to get creative to avoid constant overlap of your own edits facing each other frequently for the Women's Title/Title contendership.
5) Up to 2 edits can be signed up to start with, with up to 2 more if we don't have enough people signing up their edits.
ELIGIBILITY ADDENDA:
- Due to various conflicts surrounding the OPEN! Internet Championship, if you wish your Women's Division roster members(s) to be eligible for that belt's contendership, you must manually request a match in the OPEN! Internet Championship thread.
- Due to being classified as Juniors, Women's Division roster members are also eligible for Cruiserweight Championship contendership if their handlers wish to add them to that division during sign-up.
- If your roster member(s) was/were created on or after July 11th 2017 during the current Blue Season (May 1st 2019-April 30th 2020), they are also eligible for Grand-Prix Championship contendership if their handlers wish to add them to that division.
- Women's Division roster members are also eligible for ANARCHY and Battlefront Championship contendership if their handlers wish to add them to those divisions.
- Women's Division roster members are not eligible for DODEKAGON Championship contendership unless their handlers create a separate DODEKAGON-rules version of them in the (upcoming) DODEKAGON Championship thread.
- If you wish your Women's Division roster member(s) to be eligible for World Championship contendership, you must manually sign them up in the World Championship thread.
How will this work?
At ARENA Rising 2018 in B.I.G. Garden, "Homegrown" Marley Hicks won a Contendership Elimination Battle Royal and then defeated reigning Joshivision Champion Yasuko Mizuki for the belt, and at MILESTONE: Alliance Rising 2019 in SPIKE-CHUNSOFT Dome, she successfully defended the Joshivision Championship against Alanna, who also won a Contendership Elimination Battle Royal prior to the match.
Following MILESTONE, the ENTIRE division has been completely reset to scratch (INCLUDING the champion, though Marley Hicks will still be listed as the last Joshivision Champion), and will be repopulated using all the sign-ups from this thread.
Events and various individual matches will be held to determine Rankings and Contendership, of course.
Matches for contendership (and then the belt itself) will be held once a minimum of 4 edits have been signed up for the Division.
If enough edits have been signed up before CRITICAL! Royale on January 31st 2020, a #1 Contender's match will be held at the event with the winner going on to face the Champion at the MILESTONE supershow on April 30th 2020.
What's with the belt images at the top of the post?
The full-size belt on top is for you to use in promotional graphics and video bits, while the image below it is the custom Fight! graphic that will go in your fight graphics folder to use via Carlzilla's Mod Pack (or Mod Suite if you're still running World version 1.02).
(If the Save As dialog for the Fight! graphic reads "%20" instead of a space, replace it with a space for proper syntax)
If you sign your edit up to the Women's Championship Division, they will stay active specifically in the Women's Championship Division (until whatever time you decide to remove them from the Division) automatically from now through the end of the Blue Season 2020-2021 due to the reboot beginning halfway through Blue Season 2019-2020 (as in, they'll be active in the Division from now through April 30th 2021) to compensate for the truncated 2019-2020 season.
(At the end of Blue Season 2020-2021, you will all have the option to re-up your "Division Contract" or withdraw your edit from the Division.
HOWEVER, unlike the Perpetuity Permission described in the Grand-Prix thread, EVERY match in the Women's Championship Division that gets booked with your edit will require your prior permission to use in the match, in order to avoid usage conflicts or other messiness.
Anyone who wishes to book Women's Championship matches themselves (or exhibition/contendership matches if they so wish) may do so by reserving a match in this thread (in chronological order of when you reserved a match, with your reserved match taking place after any matches reserved in previous posts), using anybody from the Women's roster, but must receive permission from the handlers of the participants before confirming any matches.
(This style feels like a good way to get more people involved. :) )
If you're booking matches and you have more than 1 edit signed up here, please try to avoid booking your own edits against each other unless absolutely necessary.
This isn't a set-in-stone rule, but rather a strong suggestion in order to avoid any favoritism.
While there are currently no "regularly occurring" annual events (like Star of the Jar, for example) YET where the winner will receive an offer for a Women's Championship match, we could always start one (like a league, or a tournament, or battle royale matches, etc) or more.
The Women's Champion is automatically a part of the division until they lose the Championship, at which point, their handler will then have the ability to re-up or opt their edit out of the division if they so wish.
If you have any additional questions as to rules or whatnot from this division, you're welcome to ask, and any answers will be added to this post.
