*We find Kazuo "Chrome" Saji standing in an ornate room that is classier than any other place we usually see him in. Even he seems to realize this as his personality is toned down a few notches. He is also dressed more solemnly as well: donning a black business suit with a yellow dress shirt. Saji walks around the room before setting his sight on a beautiful katana hoisted up high on a wall. He reaches for it and gently brings it down, showing it to the camera.*[Saji:] "You're looking at the Matsuki family katana blade that has been passed down from generation to generation. Asako has graciously given me the opportunity to display it to make my point, provided that I show it the proper deference. And to be real with you all, I'm not in a joking mood anyway. I know, I'm shocked too. But I've spent the past month in deep reflection rather than deep...well, you know."
*Kazuo winks but quickly becomes serious again after he hears Asako clear her throat off camera.*[Saji:] "Fact is that the past year of my career has seen more peaks and valleys than I have ever encountered. I now come upon a career crossroads and I believe the work of art that I hold in my hand illustrates my opportunities."
*Kazuo points to and runs his finger along the inner concave edge of the katana*[Saji:] "On one end we have the dull edge of the katana: the side that the sword maker declined to sharpen. There are tactical reasons for that, of course, as my friend RYOMA has informed me of. But, ultimately, one would not initially want to use this edge to attack unless they wanted to simulate the usage of a blunt object. And there's really no reason to misuse a sword like that. RYOMA could probably rattle off a ton of weapons that would be of better use for blunt impact but
I'm not best suited for that conversation, any more than
this edge of the sword is for cutting."
*Kazuo then points to the outer convex edge of the katana, being careful not to touch it.*[Saji:] "And on the other end we have the unrelenting cutting edge: the side that the sword maker painstakingly crafted to slice through anything in its path. This is the heart of the katana but it still requires the strength and integrity of the entire blade, including that of the other side, to support its purpose. If that dull edge becomes cracked or broken in any way, the blade won't have the full strength it needs to cut with its sharp edge and remain intact."
*Kazuo flips the blade and holds it face down.*[Saji:] "Right now in the promotion known as the C!C Alliance, I am enjoying the most success I have
ever had. In the past two months I have won and simultaneously hold
two singles Championships. In April, I finally defeated Mick Garland to win the Anarchy Title: one of the most prestigious Championships in the history of the FPCPP. And just two months later, I defeated Val Morgan to win the fairly newly minted Cruiserweight Title.
I need to remain at my sharpest to defend these Titles and continue my success there. If I am given the opportunity, maybe I can even challenge NorthStarLion for his World Championship and hold the Title of legends.
To do that, I have to make sure that the other side of my katana does not crack under a recent challenge. The Universal Battle League is where I spend the rest of my time but right now that position is being challenged. By now various online sites have broken the news that
Kurt Sanders and Charles Langford have threatened me with an ultimatum. If I don't voluntarily leave UBL for a year, they will bring a lawsuit against me, UBL, Luke Kisiera, and good taste.
Obviously, when I was first served by their notice, I was furious. This is a page right out of Kurt's playbook against Yoshiro from a few years ago: playing the victim despite being the aggressor. I remember that Kurt would brag all the time about turning the locker room against Yoshiro and making him feel bad. Yoshiro eventually self-exiled himself.
However, unlike Yoshiro, I actually made a mistake. Yes, I rushed the ring to save my friends. But I didn't have to pull Kurt's pants down. I could have just kicked him out of the ring but I chose to embarrass him instead. Now I am paying the price. Is it fair? No. But the more I resist this situation with Kurt in the UBL, the more stress that side of my katana will suffer. I need my blade sharper than ever to defend my C!C Titles and take advantage of my opportunities there."
*Kazuo takes a second to steel himself.*[Saji:] "And so I accept the terms of Kurt's deal. I will wrestle in the UBL or attend their shows until next June, a year after the incident happened. As a result, Kurt must drop his lawsuit against
all parties as he agreed to do if I left. In addition to my goals, I can't allow other people to be punished for my actions, regardless of Kurt's intentions.
I also expect Arthur Wingate, Drake Yoshida and, if need be,
Thunder Strike, to punish Kurt and Jasper for their post-match attack against Tetsu and RYOMA and make sure that doesn't happen again in my absence. Fact is, Kurt, you can keep me out of UBL for now but if I see my boys in real trouble, you may have to sue me for something
real."
*Kazuo raises the blade above his head.* [Saji:] "And when the time comes for me to return to the UBL ring, you and I have a date, Sanders. I won't stand you up either, unlike every
other date you've ever looked forward to. What? u mad? Yeah, it's personal now, Kurt.
And after a year of further sharpening my blade in C!C, I'm going to split you in half...which is what I've done on every date
I've ever been on. See you next summer, bitch."
*Kazuo swings the sword in a downward motion as the camera fades to black.*
