From what I've gathered google translating japanese results, only listing the type of pin or hold that caused the match to end is common practice there (I'm just guessing that something like "Shrimp Consolidation" is a type of pin here). that's "ebi-gatame," which is lit. "prawn hold," based on how the recipient's body is folded in on himself like a cooked shrimp. That's the double leg hook pinfall that usually follows a powerbomb. This is also roughly how you'd describe the standing rollup and victory roll pinfalls in Firepro; iirc the latter's Japanese name is something like 高角度前方回転エビ固め (kou-kakudo zenpou kaiten ebi-gatame) which translates to "high angle front rolling prawn hold." 片エビ固め is "kata ebi-gatame," which is a hooked leg pinfall with only one leg hooked - sort of the standard pinning move to end a match. Putting 逆 ("gyaku") in front of those indicates that it's not a pinning move, but rather a Boston crab or single-leg Boston crab.
At any rate, it really varies from production to production. TV shows often just listed the results of the match with the wrestler's names and what kind of pinning move or submission ended the match, while iirc, Weekly Gong and other publications were a bit more detailed in their short result listings.

I echo maikeru on this one. The only times I see just pinfall is if it's by random occurrence (no priority connection, a counter, or the edit doing a move getting briefly interrupted like in a multi-man match situation) or it's a unique flash pin.
It honestly isn't really that different from Returns from what I've seen. If anything, World has provided more match ending analysis due to the increased space on the results screen. I don't feel like it's been fully used to its potential in the vanilla game, but I've seen it in mods like with the judges decision option.
Also, I'm changing the Rolling Pin Fall move name to Shrimp Consolidation. That name is just too amazing.

so what about the interpolation / the fact the game looks smoother with extra blended frames in Returns?

I think the best looking game is/was Fire Pro D. Insane crispness. It runs so clean and sharp at 240p. D is the very best.

I think the best looking game is/was Fire Pro D. Still easily my favourite of the series, the last game before IP became a concern and everyone started suing each other out of existence. I wish someone would shrimp consolidate the weenies who made it impossible to have pre loaded rosters with fake names in fire pro. 🦐📦

I miss wrestler bios/descriptions, that would be a very useful way to delineate multiple versions of the same wrestler (IE, from multiple edit creators)

Especially for me, since I hijacked the nickname slot years and years ago to write hometowns in and never looked back. One of the things that made that such an easy decision in R was the bio - even if you were lucky to get a sentence in Roman vs. the full paragraph you could fit in Japanese. You could at least write a nickname in there instead.

I know it's not the best thing, but I use the Nickname and sometimes a shorthand parenthesis to differentiate between edits. This is especially more handy with the ModPack which has an option for longer names.
Example: The latest version of my Jessica Shields edit has (TR) at the end of her name which stands for "Torture Rack" to differentiate it from any old versions I have that I kept around for legacy-sake.
