I've copied this post from a copy of a post, so the information may be outdated at the current time. If necessary, I'll reformat it properly: IE - rewording things, etc.
Welcome to the Fire Pro Community Person Pack/Fire Pro Wrestling Alliance!
FPCPP Steam Collection
The FPCPP is comprised of two primary things:
- An edit collection on Steam made for the Fire Pro Wrestling World game.
- An e-fed with events and roleplay that use the wrestlers from said Steam collection.
The FPWA is an alliance of user created promotions (feds) with the understanding that they follow the Rules and Guidelines outlined below.
If you want to get involved in this project, it is extremely easy.
Getting Booked:
If you want to be booked on FPCPP/FPWA shows, just let us know.
That being said, there is no formal booking team! Any FPCPP/FPWA member can create an FPCPP/FPWA show.
All bookings are superseded by the Execeptions Thread.
There are only two rules:
If you want to use someone else's wrestler in a show, match or RP, you have to get their permission. And if you want to book a Championship match, you have to get the permission of the handler of the Champion to put their Title up for grabs.
This means that FPCPP now effectively functions based on trust or an honor system. If you trust that a particular show creator will treat your edit with respect, than you will likely allow them to book your wrestler if they ask. It's up to you. And the more you (and the handler of your opposing wrestler) trust the show runner and actually work together on story lines, the better FPCPP can be.
Oh and for those who don't have video capacity, that doesn't mean you can't create a show. You can either ask someone with video capacity to collaborate with you on the show you have planned, or you can create a show with text or text and pics. Believe it or not, the majority of e-fed shows before 2008 occurred using text and a lot of them were awesome. You don't NEED video to have a great e-fed show and you don't need video to have an official FPCPP show. You just need a good reason for putting the show together, the permission of handlers, and good writing.
EDIT RULES:
So if you are new you probably are wondering what it takes to get your edit ready for the FPCPP/FPWA.
1) The ONLY official rule for making an edit for the FPCPP/FPWA is that your overall points are below or at 200. There are no other enforceable rules at this time.
You will note that there are certain "customs" that have evolved. Things such as edits not using the same finishers as each other or edits not using their finishers until late damage. If you are curious about some of these "soft rules", ask about them. Only the 200 point rule is enforceable however, it's recommended that guidelines be followed as outlined below. Everything else is up for debate.
The intention of making an edit in FPCPP/FPWA is to have entertaining and competitive matches rather then to win. This is not a competitive "sport" fed like some others because our highest priority isn't making edits that win. We do want close, competitive matches but we do that together rather then against each other. The intent is for the edits to work together to put on fun matches that simulate fictional pro wrestling, not to create unstoppable winners. If you have an unstoppable winner (even if they are 199 points) and we know that is what you are trying to do, it's likely you won't see much time on official shows. You will, however, be included in the Collection.
You probably aren't going to be asked to be in a match if your edit is 199 points but behaves like a monster. The "honor system" works both ways here. If a show creator doesn't believe your edit can put on a solid match (or can do so within 50 sims), then they won't include your edit. You have three viable options at this point: Complain and be ignored, create your own show (with blackjack and hookers), or make your edit better.
Newcomers to the FPCPP Roster specifically, should not using 3-skill Special Skills until they "earn" them (This doesn't necessarily apply to non-FPCPP edits).
2) Take a look at the edit-making guides listed in the spoilers below.
These guides will help you hone your "entertaining/competitive" edit making skill.
Orochi Geese's Moves and Logic Guide
Orochi Geese and Jason Blackhart's "Best Tests Around" Guide
Carlzilla and Denizen's excellent original edit guide!
Additionally:
1) If you have been on the Pack or in the Steam Collection in the past, you may OPT-OUT if you no longer want to participate. I can't imagine anyone put themselves on it and didn't want to stay on it. But if you let us know, we will take you off.
2) If you are new: All we're asking is that you make an edit of basically either yourself or something creative that can represent your Critical! Club posting form. The old rule was that you had to make an edit of yourself, but that has been just a guideline in recent years. If you are more known for an e-fed character, bring them in. As long as you are using someone you made that you WANT to use here, you will be fine.
A special note about Roleplaying/Promos:
RPing/Promoing is not required when booked for any events, but is always welcome.
People do not like having others speak for their characters or use them without consent. A number of fights have resulted from improper and non-consensual usage of other people's characters.
If you are doing a promo and would like to use characters from other handlers, you NEED to do the following:
PM the handler and let them know what you have in mind. If the handler is okay with the promo and feels it fits with their character and story, good. Otherwise, you can't use their characters without their permission. And if you do use them and we find out, we will void and delete the promo. It won't count.
If they are fine with your request for usage then offer them the opportunity to either:
a) Write their own lines in the situation and work with you on the promo, passing it back and forth.
b) Allow you to write their lines but they get to to confirm/edit them before the promo is posted.
It's very important that no one's characters are used without their consent in promos (and matches too). We're all giving our creative energies to this and it really sucks to have a story of yours short-circuited or confused when your character is used in a way that you don't want. Creative integrity matters here.
