Best wrestling interviewer ever
Too many great interviews and historic moments to count
He helped define American pro wrestling for a generation

Mean Gene was the voice of the WWF's 80s boom period, and when he went over to WCW in the 90s, it was one of the essential moves that gave them the big time feel to overtake WWF. So many memorable moments, a real personality the likes of which we'll never see again in a modern interviewer. He didn't age for decades, but was looking a bit rough in recent years. However, like Roddy Piper, he was one of those guys who it felt like was always going to be around. He'll be missed.

The standard for wrestling interviews, I miss him every time I have to watch one of the WWE drones try and ask dumb scripted questions.
Also, (and mostly unrelated) I remember eating at Mene Gene's burgers once on a road trip. It was... not good. But I couldnt resist haha...

Sad day for wrestling for sure. He was truly the voice of the WWE. Always appreciated his classiness and quick wit during interviews. RIP to a legend.

Wow, that's a big one.
Always quick with replies and one liners, even around the most insane lunatic wrestlers (Savage, Warrior...), a real professional that was always rock solid, no matter who he was interviewing. I remember writing up RPs for the GameFAQs efeds back in the day, and I always mentally saw Mean Gene when I was putting together back stage interviews!
One of a kind, classy professional, sad news.
