Exactly what one might expect from two exceptionally talented mat workers. We don't see a lot of Maria Marella lately, who mostly wrestles as a fill-in, but she hasn't lost a step, obviously, outplaying Angela Rivera with plenty of reversals and ultimately snatching up a pinfall victory.


Tara, why are you a bully towards the janitor this is just pure rudeness at this point


Simply put, the Sky Dragons were just outplayed here. Queen's Gambit might have lost the tag titles, but it seems like only a matter of time before they're back in contention, being one of the most dangerous teams in the Academy already.


Payback on Rule XXX! Janitors everywhere rejoice! Or at least Team Work, anyway. This clearly isn't over.


A hard-fought match that culminated in maybe one of the most spectacular diving finishes in the Academy's history: from the top corner all the way to the center of the ring! A huge pickup for Angie Starr.


An extremely tough matchup, with both teams showing their stuff at their best... Djeneba and Ayanda are looking good as a team coming out of the Pan-African tour, but no amount of momentum could stop a brutal chokeslam, with Tywon catching Ayanda out of the air to score the win.


Keiko Tomioka makes her official Academy debut after a brief showing on Proving Ground recently, and the result is the same: a victory for the young rookie! This time, against a much tougher foe... could Keiko already be making a name for herself?


A nearly unheard-of result: the Battle Royal Champion retains! Teighler Tisdale was a dynamo in this one, and once the field narrowed to three, she went on a tear and eliminated her final two foes back-to-back in short order, to go another month as champion!


Yuki Usagi was on fire for the first half of this match... but it was a Pop-up Powerbomb from Marina that signaled the beginning of the end. From there, the Estonian went on an absolute rampage, never letting up for a second, showing no mercy... much to the dismay of many in attendance. This was not a popular move... but, as we'd find out, Marina Olesk doesn't seem concerned with popularity right now.


It was a good show to be a champion. Honey Popsicle fended off a tough challenge here from the Dream City Bandits, reminding the Academy crowd that they're also one of the finest teams ever to set foot in their ring... and, for what is almost certainly the first time since the Battle Royal Championship was introduced, all three Academy champions retained!

"Something tells me I'm not going to get a particularly warm reception for the way my match tonight went. You want to know something? I really... genuinely don't care. I worked my way up to the top of the Academy. Won the Championship. Proved myself as one of the best talents that's ever set foot in this Vancouver ring, and already you want to take that away from me? I have no intentions of letting you off easy. Giving this title up without a fight? Give me a break.

I considered relinquishing this title after December's show, win or lose. But you know what? To hell with that.

You can have this title when you earn it. You either win this belt in the ring, or it's staying with me... for as long as it takes to find someone worthy. I'm the best the Academy has to offer. The undisputed top of the heap, and the future of Phoenix Rising, above everyone.
