Six of your most dangerous men... and that... Dean Sweenson... all searching to be that one to get a moment of glory. And slowly but surely... the field began to thin out. I crushed the fight out of Bryson King and reminded him exactly what he's dealing with... and finally, I was left with only two in the way. Cleaver... and Shogun.
And of course... you know how that ended. Still... I don't blame you, I don't hold a grudge for this. You want change, and you went for the best opportunity presented to you.
But this wasn't your night. Someday, it will be. But make no mistake... to take this title from my hands, you'll need to be nothing less than the best. You're stepping into that ring across from not only the Blackrose Heavyweight Champion... but the Phoenix Rising World Champion... the Lightning Pro Victorious Medal holder... the list could go on, you realize. The Black Dragon "So, here we are... the people are probably expecting a long, pissed-off rant towards Megan Van Horne, frustration at once again losing the Blackrose Heavyweight Championship, seeing my list of titles knocked down to three... but here's the deal, you're not getting that. I'm not sure I've ever made it clear: there's two major reasons I do what I do, in seeking all of these titles, every accolade I've collected.
Of course, the first reason is for the glory... the glint of gold and silver, the collection, the Dragon's Hoard. But what people fail to realize is that it's far from my only reason. I seek out these titles... I deliberately put the target on my back, because I've come to respect one major thing: the thrill of someone able to step forward and challenge me. Face-to-face. Nothing to stand between us. Challengers come and go, and they fall... most of the time. And sometimes... one of them pushes past what they thought was possible for them.
THAT is what I'm here for. To lift up the best of the best. To see them rise up and challenge the Dragon.
'Then what about Bryson King', I'm already hearing. Well, I have an answer for you, as well." The Dragon rises, and... walks away. Perhaps she still has little respect for the man that ended her first Blackrose Heavyweight Championship reign...
And as she walks away, she yells something back over her shoulder. "Do NOT go losing that title to that Q lunatic. You did the hard part already... now KEEP GOING." |
