In my country we use the metric system, we don't measure things by "feets", nor we measure them by pounds, so you will see a shititon of errors in my edits regarding they actual height and weight, sometimes even the math who dictates their actual age and DOB, because i'm a accountant and economics student who lives by his calculator machine and can't do counting in the fly to save his life.
Also. its kilometers, not meters per hours and we use celsius too.

I really liked this post from the other thread: For example, (according to Wikipedia) Randy Orton is 6'5'' and Brock Lesnar is 6'3'', and we can record this data when creating edits. However, due to a combination of Brock's height, width, muscle mass, presence and intimidation, Brock could be listed as 'large' or 'giant' and Randy could be listed as 'normal' despite Brock being 2 inches shorter. Another one is WCW/NWO Revenge fictional character Hawk Hana (a sumo wrestler). He was listed as 6'2'' but in the game he was taller and bigger than pretty much everyone else. I'm not sure which real wrestler he was based on, or maybe THQ recorded his height stat incorrectly, but you got the impression his overall his 'appearance' was supposed to be huge, despite how tall he actually was. This is pretty much exactly how I see things. Orton is taller than Brock but Brock's horizontal dimension (at least for his chest) is the size of the laptop I'm typing this on. Height is just one factor for deserving large size and it's kind of a sliding scale that works with weight and two other factors. Someone like El Gigante was soooo tall that it didn't matter he was also so thin. But I'd also understand that some people may not want him "Giant" size due to his weight. But if he had been like 2 inches shorter but 50 pounds heavier, he definitely would deserve Giant size without a doubt. Yokozuna was relatively short but there's no question in my mind that his bulk justifies Giant size in addition to the two key factors of a) wrestling style and b) the way he was booked. A tubby or tall jobber may be just as big as Yokozuna (or Earthquake) but be booked to get lifted up by a cruiserweight and so they don't really deserve Giant size to me. Wrestling style plus booking are two other factors to throw into the equation along with weight. Modern Undertaker (Attitude era onward) always seems like a Large size wrestler to me in FPW rather than Giant because he didn't quite have the bulk to be Giant even though he was treated like an immovable monster early in his career. I'd be more likely to give early Undertaker "Giant" status then later Undertaker. Kane was bulkier than Undertaker but I never would feel right giving him Giant status. Both of those guys could definitely deserve "Quick Return" though for accuracy to compensate for lack of Giant. As for the Orton vs. Brock issue, I think it makes sense that the slightly taller Orton would be Medium and Brock would be Large. Look at it this way: If you were to see Randy Orton in a dark alley, he'd probably poop in your bag. If you were to see Brock Lesnar in a dark alley, you'd poop in your own bag. "Give a man a poop, he cleans his bag for a day. Teach a man to poop, he poops for a lifetime." That's my flawless rationale for why Brock Lesnar should get "Large" size and Orton should get "Medium." & 💩 u With so many people having their own edits and creating their own height/appearance system (< 6'0'' =small, 6'1'' - 6'4'' = normal etc) having a standardised rule is tough, but turning to Spike for a definitive answer doesn't help at all (not much surprise there!). Completely agreed. First off, Okada's default in the DLC looks really silly to me. Like too thin and tall. I'm not a master at designing edit appearances, especially for RL wrestlers (that's why I have Dakota as my tag-team edit partner!) but some of the NJPW defaults look like FUN HOUSE MIRRORS to me in regards to appearances. Completely agree with OrochiGeese's breakdown of the height/appearance relationship (and the poop in the bag part is the icing on the cake!)... I've gone through and edited most of the wrestlers I've downloaded on PS4 and I personally use Okada as by Large barometer. While I understand Geese feelings about the default Okada I believe it works. At 6'3 Okada is the tallest person in New Japan. And he generally towers over his opponents as most his opponents are 6'1 and under. U just think it works visually. ...And agree with skywalkersview's justification of Okada's height. I think once we break from a 'static' relationship between height and appearance, and think of the relationship as almost 'dynamic', the appearance match up between different edits actually becomes enjoyable, rather than thinking that the appearance relationship between different edits is 'broken'.

I think most people make guys like AJ a M size is because it can take more damage than the S size. At least it was like this in Returns. Another difference is making Naito M sized at 5'10 so he's not the same size as his LIJ compadre Hiromu.
All in all I think World being a sort of simulator for wrestling it's best to combine their actual height, their persona, and their height in relation to the rest of their respective companies.

So I just took a peek at how things were laid out with the default NJPW guys and aside from a few outliers, the Defaults do seem to go as follows: 5'9" and less= Small; 5'10-6'3"ish= Medium (Both Fale and Okada are listed as large). This overlap seems to indicate that Spike considers at least 6'4" and up to be Large.
Granted, the older games seem a bit more all over the place but even then 5'10"/5'11" seems to be the dividing line between small and medium. And 6'3/6'4" the line between medium and large.
This is the scale that I think I will be going off of for the sake of consistency with my edits (outside of a few outliers such as Vader, Road Warriors, etc who are booked as larger than life)
Edit: so I checked the SWA guys and it is pretty all over the place. There seems to be a very loose consistency of 6'0" to 6'1" being medium and 6'2"-7'0 is large... but again, there are a few 5'11" mediums and one female edit, Jamie Wilson, listed as 5'11" but size large so... the SWA group are as thrown together as I had assumed and I won't consider them official. lol

Most of the time I use medium , small is for really small wrestlers, for example i would put Rey Mysterio or Spike Dudley in small but not AJ Styles or Chris Jericho , large if for huge guys like The Undertaker , Batista etc... And giant for ... Giant, like André, The Big Show or Giant baba

When I first got WORLD I thought about rethinking my sizing, but seeing John Cena as Large size changed my mind. It just doesn't seem right. And I feel it would lead to too many blocked moves from the weight. It seems like you should spread the sizes but GIANT Undertaker seems too big for some reason.
Seeing the Okada in the DLC as large was really weird. The body size percent helps some height also. Women with almost 80% body size to look small, then big boys with over 100# size heads and such will look taller also. But Large I save for near 7 foot and Giant for the true giants which are few.

Mildly off-topic, but did anyone else notice some of their edits lose an inch in height after the update to 2.0?

Mildly off-topic, but did anyone else notice some of their edits lose an inch in height after the update to 2.0? Yeah. I'm guessing that it's converting from inches to cm and back differently. Like half my guys are listed as an inch shorter. But you can set a guy to 7' even now, so there's that.

Do the NJPW defaults follow any rules? They seem to just be based on how they feel rather than their real height.

Since body types also effect edits, it’s probably wiser choosing type according to a character’s athleticism and stamina, and using body parts for appearances.
For example, a Barry Windham was much taller than a Ric Flair, but was more athletic than “large” body types. So make such a wrestler a medium but give him large body parts and reduce their width.

I mean, the game's scaling options for parts really changes how I view most of this.
Knowing how the game works under the hood and all, I tend to err on the side of caution and do things via how they look and perform. I think it's fine to have a scale in your mind, but always be flexible with it.
