The Galastream: Solar Slam results

*The scene fades into a wide-angle shot of RYOMA sitting on a park bench. There are a few clouds in the sky but otherwise it is a beautiful and sunny summer day. He is holding the SNGW Universal Championship belt in his lap, almost transfixed by it. However, he finally acknowledges the presence of the cameraman. RYOMA stands up and, with great pride and patience, fastens the belt around his waist before facing the camera.*

[RYOMA:] “’Ad astra per aspera’ is a latin phrase that loosely translates to ‘through hardship, to the stars.’ My response to what occurred last night is ‘solis clare’ or, ‘from the sun, with clarity.” The only way to defeat an aberration is to shine light on its true nature. You must measure its ability to flaunt the rules and then expose its limits.

Going into our match last night, Mr. Anomaly was already showing cracks in his seemingly impossible yearlong ability to fight off cause and effect. His overconfidence and poor choice in allies had finally come back to offset his balance. I would be remiss if I did not give credit to the Neon Knights for shaking Mr. Anomaly’s faith in his plan. Engulfed in his own misery, Mr. Anomaly was vulnerable for the first time during his reign of deviance. It made my strategy piercingly simple: endure one final onslaught from a desperate man and land the finishing blow.

However, a simple plan does not write its own results. Weathering multiple brainbusters and tornado DDT’s made it harder to even remember who I was, let alone what I had to do. At some point during the fight, I have no recollection of the moment, I turned to pure instincts. This amplified my toukon – my fighting spirit. Years of combat against the strongest in this universe have honed my instincts. Corey O’Brian, Nobu Nakazawa, Geese Walker – all warriors who have tested me, defeated me, and made me incomparably stronger as a result.

The one thing I learned from my wars with them, my own hardships is that only an unyielding and assertive spirit can hope to claim victory. I never stopped attacking Mr. Anomaly with everything that I had. Instinct is what chose the weapons I wielded but still I faced resistance. “

*RYOMA looks up to the sky*

[RYOMA:] “Even the sun can undergo hardship. Even the sun is faced with conditions that we do not expect. But w that happens, it answers back with a sudden flash of energy.

It answers as I did - with a Solar Flare.

*RYOMA clutches his arm and looks at it with reverence.*

[RYOMA:] “That provided an instant crucible of fire that laid bare the absolute limits of his final attempt at deviation. Mr. Anomaly could not react in any way other than defeat. And I, I was the one who had changed my legacy by finally claiming my first World Championship.”


*RYOMA cocks his head back and produces the deepest and most genuine smile that we have ever seen from him. However, it starts to fade once the sky becomes cloudier.*

[RYOMA:] “After ten years of fighting for this goal, it seems almost perverse that I barely enjoyed ten minutes of celebration before an event eclipsed my victory. After I left the ring, Mr. Anomaly was supplanted as the biggest threat in Super NOVA and the entire universe of professional wrestling. Zachariah Zealot and his brotherhood sacrificed him to whatever it is that they believe in.

Zealot – I am not overlooking the nuance. You have retained at least some of your honor despite your actions. I am clearly your next logical opponent and an attack on me would likely serve what goals you have. And as I speak the truth, I admit that I could not have fought all of your men in the condition that I was in. So for your forbearance, whatever the reason, you are owed some respect and the benefit of the doubt in explaining your actions against Mr. Anomaly.”

*The sky continues to get darker and drops of rain begin to fall.*

[RYOMA:] “But explain them, you must. Even though your anger towards the anomaly was justified, the severity of the punishment suggests that your moral compass may need the type of calibration that only a heavenly body can provide. Since you look at everything as a religious prophecy, consider how the ancient ones saw the gods to understand my message.

Zealot, you have taken your position as Mercury. As the #1 contender to the Universal Championship, you are now closest to the sun. Like Mercury, you are also a messenger as you seek to spread your brand of orthodoxy to the world.

However, if a planet feels like they can only surpass the sun by joining with other planets, it reveals weakness not strength. Challenge me on your own or your crusade will immediately be branded by the fragility in our faith. The value of your message will be eclipsed by your original, retrograde, violent zealot nature. There will be no glory. There will only be resistance. The sun will be joined by other stars to repel a planetary coup.”

*An umbrella appears from behind RYOMA to cover him from the rain. It is being held by Tetsu Gushiken as the camera pans back. We also see a smiling Kazuo “Chrome Saji” standing close by.*

[Kazuo:] “Rain or shine, RYOMA’s future so bright, I gotta wear shades.”

[Tetsu:] “We are brothers and will fight for each other anywhere.”

*RYOMA grips his Title Belt and holds it up to the camera.*

[RYOMA:] “My reign will erase the damage done to this Championship by Mr. Anomaly. I will not allow another group to immediately sully it while trying to claim it for their ends. Whatever you believe in Zealot, and however you plan to fulfill it, understand that your path of great difficulty must go through the sun. You can join with others but your den of wolves masquerading as a pious order is temporary. Your alliance was not forged in the fire like the kinship that my brothers and I have built for a decade. You can temporarily cloud my vision, but I will burn through your deceit just as I did through Mr. Anomaly’s. Super NOVA has had to suffer too much to fall under a new cloud just as the sun is finally shining again.”

*RYOMA, Tetsu, and Kazuo looks up and the clouds have started to dissipate and the sun shines again. Kazuo puts on a second pair of sunglasses on top of his existing one.*

I never imagined that RYOMA would win his first major Championship with that standing fierce chop! But now that he did, I want to honor it by making it a bigger deal.

Due to Spike's refusal to allow us to chain into standing attacks, I just had to hope that RYOMA would chain his "Hands Gut Pose" taunt into the fierce chop. But hope is for the weak. I am a Goose of action.

Introducing "Hands Gut Pose -> Fierce Chop"

It's a standing attack that has the taunt baked in. There's more of a wind-up at the start of the chop and the forward motion of the chop is sped up as well. Admittedly hard to tell from the choppy GIF.




And in honor of RYOMA's victory here, I am calling it the "Solar Flare."

Its parameters are boosted too but I'll compensate by lowering the % on it.
